i am new to custom kernels..!!
i make a custom kernel by follwing this guide

but now i want to name my kernel..!!!
i install this using odin it work good.!!
in my device information kernel have name "2.6.35.7 [email protected]#1"
how to replace this name ..???

I downloaded the file tried to flash via cwm but its saying installation aborted can anyone tell me how to do it plss..
Its a package...the rom is inside the zip u've downloaded..unzip it..there are some other file inside that also..proceed as said in the tutorial

I usually make my custom rom when am sick of other roms made by devs... But when i have to change/ flash another rom... I want to backup the full rom.. If i do so it will save me more time...
Than building it everytime i want

Solution- which i get from my friend is converting the rom to be backed up with desirable settings into factoryfs.rfs and can be used in any rom which u want to flash

Hello there. Iam newbie here. I had root more than hundred samsung phones but i never pit custom kernel inside each phones that i ever rooted. Can i know what is the true function of custom kernel and can you suggest me a custom kernel for me? Now iam using GT-S7500 with custom rom cyanogenmod 10.1.2. Thanks.
