Does MotoAssist.apk contain unexpected contents, did you remove the apk when you were rooted etc.

Yes i deleted it along with dome other bloatwares with titanium backup.. But they were reinstalled when i reset the phone.. So i dont know how that could be the problem

What do you mean when you say they were reinstalled when you reset the phone. If you mean factory reset then that doesn't reinstall them. Basically the apk file is not the same as it was originally.

If you placed them back on the phone manualy, are you sure you placed them in the correct directory.

I guess your right i factory reset it.. If any of you know where i could get the stock MotoAssist.apk please let me know

You will need to reinstall all apps that are updated by the OTA. Download stock firmware and just flash system image. Tutorials are on XDA.

Thanks i will try it out

That's correct, just use the moto fastboot utility to flash each one in turn.

Only if that app is the only one that has changed or been deleted.

I flashed the firmware using adb ... Got back all the stock apps and the update went ok... Thank you all for your help

Root and cwm recovery aren't related.
Uninstalling su.zip with TB is like saying I don't want black, but go on and wipe black with black lol (TB requires root to perform most actions)
Just install a Google full rom (sticky in general section) and lock the bootloader afterwards.

I don't get what you say. Installing a full Android stock rom will delete cwm recovery and add the stock recovery again (as well as restoring the install-recovery.sh again).

If your radio is the correct one that came with the version you have installed, why bother.. if not they can see that the bootloader was unlocked just from comparing your device's Android + radio version versus what it would have been via OTA.

My questions must be so stupid that I can't even get someone to respond!
When trying to flash certain things using CWM, I am prompted to install an “untrusted zip"...
Has anyone experienced this and is it safe to install untrusted ???

Is whatever you're flashing stated as compatible with your device/made for your device? Have you tried flashing with a different recovery (If available)?
I have Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 and was trying to flash the nexus 4 boot animation..
This happened a few days ago when I tried to flash some of the android 4.2 system dump.
Both times it says “ install untrusted zip". I just tried to toggle verification and that did not help.
Thanks for helping

No. It's not safe to run untrusted.zip. It may be contained with viruses and may screw up your phone or PC. Only run files with actual names because you don't know if it's good or bad. It can crash your phone, not to mention your PC.

"Untrusted" is not the file name. The recovery is just stating that the file is "untrusted" since its not official from the manufacturer.
Hopefully your phone is rooted, if it's not I can't help ... make sure you have an unlocked bootloader and install Rom Toolkit from Google Play. Rom Toolkit has a bunch of boot animations for free, including the nexus 4 animation. Also, it will install these from the app itself - much easier than doing it in CWR.

Hey rookie, welcome to xda!
While I've got your attention..
Can you guys help me with something else??
I'm running jellywiz RLS12, yesterday I flashed a 4.2MOD pack over jellywiz. After flashing it, I realized I didn't want it. I tried to research how to “unflash" stuff but was unsuccessful, ended up having to do a factory reset and reinstall jellywiz.
Any pointers on how to do this more effectively??
Thank you!

Camera apk missing

I wanted to install the Moto X camera on my RAZR HD but also wanted to stay with the stock cam, ended up with none of them. They told me to rename the MotCam.apk I did it using Root Explorer and also renamed the odex just in case, when I launch back to homescreen the Camera app was missing. Also, the Gallery app is on the app drawer, so the only problem is the cam app. Any way I can recover it back? Or do I have to reset or flash back to stock rom?

well first you must tell us exactly what you have done so far.
otherwise nobody can help you.
Mine failed too. I got an update today and as I'm updating, I got an "error" midway through. Now when I go under settings, it'll say "your system is up to date", yet I'm still running 4.4.
Now what? Did I lose my chance to update? lol
Edit: Does being rooted have anything to do with it?
