[Q] sd card becomes unreadable - Sony Xperia C

Anybody of you here has problem with the sd card memory going inaccessible and your files will not be viewable in album app for pictures, and in music on walkman app. Though when I check it in the storage settings the sd csrd is mounted. I can only get it back by restarting the phone. Am on an unrooted stock firmware and the latest version.

[Q] Help please

I have a Samsung Galaxy note II (GT-7100)
The phone kept unmounting and prepairing my sd card every time id wake the phone up from idle.
And then it gave me a error the card was blank or currupt and to format it, i did not format the sd card.
Now the Samsung will not recognize the sd card at all, i tried it in my friends S3 but that phone will not regonize it either, both note II and S3 are rooted.
Now after the SD card ****ed up, i tried downloading some apps on Googleplay, it says there isnt enough space yet i have 6gb internal space but when i update apps it allows it to do that.
I dont know what to do, i want my SD card to work because its 32GB and has my **** on it, also i want to install apps and play games but i cant because this phone is turning out to be wank really, only got it in january.
Is there anyway of formatting the sd card through my phones usb? i dont care if i have to whip the card i just want to use it. Also how can i get googleplay to work because thats annoying as well
At the minute im downloading a updated firmware for samsung kies so loosing root and then doing a factory reset to see if this will fix anything.
Thanks in advance.
Format it in PC, first quick format and if that still doesn't works try full format....And if still not works try a Google search for repairing SD card....

\you should not need PC to format the SD card.
In setting on storage you will see there is one item say format Sd card.
Failing that us an apk call GO taskmanager EX, it does lots more thanthe basic.
just format within your phone
just remove your mc in your phone and find a card reader that is compatible with your mc..and try quick format.....if you can format it then...your memory card is in good condition
may be the mc is having unsupported filesystem , try formatting it from ur pc , n in format option select "set default " before formating . n then insert it in ur phone n format it again before using from phone itself ..
hope it will help ..
Thanks for the reply people!
Around 7 hours after I posted this, I saw my phone randomly light up so I woke it up from idle and it said prepairing sd card and now its working normal again :S? Some wierd shizzle

Music and Picture files still showing up on Microsd card after formatting

Hi,
I have formatted my sandisk 16gb microsd card multiple times via my pc(windows xp), my phone(samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket), sdformatter and hp usb disk format tool. All these programs say the format was successful but my music and picture files are still showing up on my phone. I also tried a factory reset on the phone but that only removed the files in the internal storage.
I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I tried searching for threads with a similar issue but I was unable to find one.
Thanks
Does the card show 16gb of capacity after formatting? If so, fill that with generic files & see what the phone reads.

It's a 16gb card but when I attempt to format the card it shows up as a 14.8gb card. I connected my phone to my computer and drropped a generic file onto the sd card but the file does not show up on the phone when I disconnect it from my computer. I reconnected the phone to the computer and the generic files is still missing.

Yes they are on the external. I opened the MyFiles app, looked under extSdCard and it shows all the music and picture files. I tried deleting all the files in the exSdCard folder but they all reappear when I restart the phone. I also tried deleting them from my computer but they all reappear after the phone re-scans the sd card.
You're putting it on the wrong card

i notice the photos did not get defected right after the snap. But when u go to album and open the photo, you will see minor defection, and after 30 mins to 1 hour , almost whole picture was defected as what u can see from this pic. So , i think it's not the camera issue but some album bug or virus? but i just updated to 15.0.A.2.17 , should not have virus. Furthermore, if i keep the photo in internal storage, it won't get defected..only SD card photos spoiled.... T.T
Maybe you are right, an album bug? i have clear the album app data now. and testing now. Will update you on the result
still the same ****..... i am so disappointed. what should i do next?
Only SD card photos get defected?
1. Install any anti-virus application, scan the mobile and SD card too. If virus is not found, then connect the mobile to PC and scan the SD card. If still virus is not found then its okay, follow with step 2.
2. Use another SD card. If the problem solves, its the fault of your memory card, if not, follow with step 3.
3. Take the memory card out (older one), put it in memory card reader, then format it (untick quick format option, let it format fully).. Then try again, if not proceed to step 4.
4. Without putting memory card in phone, 'factory reset' your phone.. After that, re-insert your SD card (remember to format it again before inserting)..
5. If still it doesn't work, then re-install the firmware using Sony Update Service (SUS).

deleted android_secure, apps

It's August 2015 and here's my case and I have already been through the threads and confirmed that none of them could answer my question.
I hope some android developers could really help me out.
What happened: I deleted the .android_secure folder (what a mistake!!!)
Noted that ".android_secure stores encrypted versions of the apps moved to external SD card. You'll have probably to reinstall some apps" - by a member of xda
Before I introduce you to my phone's problem, here's the background:
1. my phone model: HTC ONE XL
2. rooted, running clean ROM, android 4.0.1
3. I have many of my apps moved to the SD card(internal storage) before the deletion
4. I notice that whenever I move an app to the SD card(internal storage), I would have some (BUT NOT ALL) mass of the app moved. ie. some mass of the app will still stay in phone storage
5. I have some apps in my launcher as "shortcuts" before the deletion
Here's the situation after the deletion:
1. The "shortcuts" are still on my launcher, showing their icons normally but when I click on them, a toast shows "application not installed"
2. I checked my phone storage and found that there's no change in the space occupied by apps. That means the phone storage part of the mass of the apps are still there.
CONCLUSION: although I have deleted the .android_secure folder, the apps that I have moved to the SD card have their remains in the phone storage occupying space and that is totally troll and useless because I cannot use the app with only its remains.
3. The apps that had been moved to the SD card previously no longer exist in the app drawer after the deletion
WHAT I TRIED: I reinstalled the apps with only their remains in the phone storage in order to use the apps again but the newly installed one did not overwrite the old data, so now my phone's phone storage has both
1. old app remains (some parts of mass of the apps), which is totally junk *old app=new app
2. new app mass
My question: How can I identify/remove the old app remains?
I sincerely hope that some android experts could help with my problem thanks
I appreciate your explanitation ofvyour problem. You can usw clean mastervto clear app junk or do a factory reset.

Nope, because what I am looking for is a solution WITHOUT factory reset.
its /SDCard/.android_secure
Its not a folder its a file.
In my samsung galaxy core 2 i moves some apps to external storege and some n intermal storage then too .android_secure appeared on external sd card and is of 0.00 bytes.
I deleted that file but my device is workimg properly

You're wrong, ".android_secure" is definitely a folder, which contains lots of .asec files
Hmm it could be a matter of android version.
Tell me which vwrsion of android you arevrunning

Uninstall those apps and do a reboot and after reboot install these apps again. I tried this on my device and it worked.
It should also work on your device
Listen Carefully Senior
He can't uninstall the apps because the apps are from his friend's phone, who rented his micro sd card and backed up his apps to it. Soo What he's trying to say is. "What you did was store the app to your micro sd card and then store it back to your phone." SIMPLE RIGHT?
But since that is the same phone the file or folder (.android_secure) has been removed by default because theres no need to protect an app that isn't there any more. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM?
His friend, the guy who rented the micro sd card, has moved his apps from his phone to the micro sd card and then gave it back to this idiot GphonePrince. SO HERE'S THE BIG DIFFERENCE droid_god.
droid_god
Your phone removed the .android_secure file from your external storage because your phone recognizes what was writen to it. Your phone wrote it in the first place. It happens when you move any app to your external_storage.
GphonePrince
Your phone cannot remove .android_secure folder because your phone cannot recognize what apps your buddy moved to your micro sd card. Your phone is not the owner of the apps stored to the micro sd card.
SO WHAT'S HAPPENING IS
Your phones saying, "whats this ****?"
Your micro sd card is saying, "bro don't touch that, someone forgot it and I'm going to keep it safe until they pick it up you can't just take it."
Your phone agrees with your micro sd card and now your hoping for a little miracle from the xda team
if this is correct let us know so we can get you started on renting sd cards out forever
