Samsung Galaxy S2 poor Signal Strength Problem?

hi, for those using INTERNATIONAL CARRIER who are experiencing poor signal strength problem IF YOU DISASSEMBLE your galaxy s2 before, heres a solution you can try:
was re-assembling my galaxy s2, discovered that the signal gone down badly if the screws on the back cover(not battery cover) is screwed too tightly. you might wanna try to open ur back cover and see the signal strength difference

Hi,
I recently replaced my usb flex cable, and my signal has been very weak ever since. I have tried loosening the screws and removing the small wire (aerial) and putting it back on, but my signal is still very very poor. Has anyone else had this problem after disassembly?
It may not be relevant but i'll mention it anyway. The screwdriver I used had a slight magnetic charge, just enough to pick up the screws. Could this have damaged something?

Have you tried to enter *2767*3855# it is called factory reset.
But be carefull you will lost all your data/contacts/apps etc.

Do this
you will have a black tape above your memory card so remove that tape and keep it in a safe palce now you can see increase in signal or other wise use alluminium wire and insert it into that hole then you can find your signal would be increased....

[Q] Signal and Antenna layout / schematic

Hello,
Firstly I'm looking for a comment from an expert who has taken Nexus5s apart before. Also I'm beyond the point of returning the phone as this fault developed after replacing a screen and ribbon cable (after I smashed my phone badly). Any help or advice would be great.
So since screen and USB flex replacement on my D821 i notice that my phone signal will connect with full bars, then drop completely, I can also only get 2g where i was able to get higher. The same sim works fine in my nokia. The Wifi Signal is fine and gps works ok but the 'no service' thing makes my phone unusable. I have tried making sure all contacts are clean and even replaced the loudspeaker unit and the black antenna cable but to no avail.
Can someone put up a picture of exactly the components that are involved in the phone signal / 3g setup? Is it possible something could have been damaged on the mainboard to cause this? I can search for networks, connect (sometimes) then it will just cut out.
I tried google for days but cant find a schematic. Basically im trying to determine if there are any other parts i should try exchanging before giving up. It makes no difference how i hold (or dont hold) the phone.

Calling works sometimes, no network available most of the time

My original OnePlus One worked great in my area, my Moto E also get's signal all the time so this is not a network coverage issue. I have an OPO that will let me make calls perfectly with great clarity, and then a moment later will say it does cannot find a signal. If left on it will mostly have no signal but after a few power cycles boom there you go, full signal! I would think it was an antenna issue except when it does work I have full signal, not a weak signal like on my old S3 with antenna issues.
I am hoping this is just a modem issue that can be fixed by flashing the latest stock rom/modem but I am hoping I can get some input on the problem.

have you dropped the device? it could be hardware.....too. Have you tried different modems or not? If not that would be a start. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/firmware-modem-oneplus-one-t3462214). If the modems dont help then here what i would check...only if you confident.
Open the OPO and make sure the screws have not come lose as sometimes that can cause issues with signal.
Recently i has something similar but no as bad as you, i ended up replacing the, Speaker Antenna module, microphone flex. you could also replace the coax- i was suppose to be but the one i got sent was too long so i had to stick with the original one.
This is what they ebay guy sent me before i replaced the parts:
first thing to replace is the Coaxial cable (which carry's signal), check both coaxial sockets and the ports on the board it connects to
-Second (like you said) Mic Flex, although it is a tough call between the lower speaker unit and the mic flex as they are equally as likley to be at fault)
the speaker unit contains the GSM Antenna, the Mic flex simply takes the Signal to the main board from the speaker Module.
both would be Ideal unless you have time. speaker unit is relatively cheap.
finally check for any lose connections or wear to any of the Gold inside the phone where it makes a connection, using some wet and dry sandpaper rub the Gold plates Very very lightly to reveal a shinny Gold, some on the mic flex, some on the speaker unit, some on the other flex's,
and finally tighten all screws properly, often the screws can work their way out, pulling the connections away from each other.
I would suggest check the connection and wear to the gold as mentioned if u dont want to replace the parts. I found that the coax on mine has been disconnected on one end so i fixed this but it didnt help hence i ended up replacing the parts.

Service was spotty for me too.. I would have LTE and then the next second EDGE or no service at all. I eventually had to fastboot flash CyanogenOS 13 (latest stock for our device) and start over but it fixed my problem. I have not had a problem since.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Wifi & GPS not working after screen & frame replacement

Hello!
My display from my Mi Note 10 broke a few days ago, so I ordered a replacement screen with the frame.
After I reassembled the phone in the new frame, the display worked fine.
But I noticed that my wifi signal was very weak. I had to be next to my router to get a full signal.
The GPS is also not working.
The mobile data is working normally. Only the wifi and GPS are not working.
I don't think I broke the antenna cable.
I think there is a missing connection/contact between the motherboard and the frame. So it can use the frame as antenna.
If someone could help me to solve this, I would be very grateful!

Have you figured it out or not?
Exactly that same issue.
Kinda interesting that it worked for quite some time after the replacement. But i have an antenna cable to blame, thought. During assembly process i accidentally broke it. I'm not sure whether that is the true reason. I tried to twist my phone, but it didn't work.
Also i tried to swap antenna cable (longer one) from P30Pro, and it didn't once again!
I'm running out of suspects now. I want to know where the GPS antenna is located. Is that a small board at the very top left?
P.S. Almost a year passed

I'm going nuts with this thing already. I checked everything i could : i used another antenna cable (white colored) i cleaned all the contacts i removed that small antenna at the top and nothing changed at all. I'm starting to get nervous because it might actually end up digging a half of the mobo...

Question Joying Android 10 - unreliable GPS

I just bought a new Joying 9" headunit with Android 10. I'm finding the GPS is very unreliable. It will fix on satellites but then quickly lose connection. It will then continually reconnect/disconnect. It's quite obvious when using my mapping apps that it's lost connection. The GPS receiver is mounted just under the dashboard and there is no metal above it.
Is there a way to increase the connection reliability? I have downloaded the GPS Locker app but it loses connection but still 'locked'. I've read some GPS receivers need a metal sheet underneath to act as a ground plane. Is this necessary?

To temporarily get around this problem I installed GPS Tether on both my phone (Moto G9+) and the Joying HU. This bypasses the Joying GPS and uses my phone GPS which is monumentally more accurate and stable then the Joying GPS until I work out the problem.

Last time that happened to me it turned out that I didn't have the antenna screwed onto the connector tight enough.

I just checked the GPS connectors and it was a bit loose. I suspect it wasn't grounding on the metal case very well. I tightened them and took it for a drive. The reliability has increased and when the car is stationary it gets a solid signal but when driving still loses GPS signal.
Any ideas?

Where on the vehicle is your gps antenna located?
It should be located at the highest point of the vehicle, with no metal objects anywhere in its path to the sky.

I've had a play with the location of the GPS. I can say the quality of the Joying supplied GPS is very poor as the cable is very susceptible to EMI. Also even if the cable is coiled up then it loses reception. I'm not sure if this a problem with all GPS receivers but the sensitivity is quite poor as well, because if the receiver is outside of the car then it gets reception even in the garage, however if the gps is placed on top of the dashboard then it loses reception.

Hi, does your car have a windscreen with metal coating to prevent warming up the interior?
This can cause your problem, or your GPS is faulty.
Placing your GPS near a side window could be a solution.
I have also a Joying with android 10 and no issue at all with GPS.

The GPS wouldn't work when mounted just underneath the dash. There was only plastic above it, not metal. I then mounted it sitting on top of the dash - middle, furthest forward. Now it works very well. Being a black GPS sitting on a black dash doesn't look too bad but it is noticeable.
I suspect the quality of the GPS from Joying is very poor. There are no brand markings on it so it's probably the cheapest they could source. I made sure the cable to the GPS was uncoiled as this seems to affect it as well.

Most OEM units have GPS receiver mounted inside dash, in centre, under plastic. Toyota Blade, Prius, Lexus etc.

I think the GPS (antenna) quality is all the same across these Chinese units. It's a matter of making sure your connections are secure and making contact.... and a matter of antenna placement.
I have a jeep with a changeable top (hard top and soft top). The OEM antenna placement is the same for all jeeps (on top of the center roll bar). The hard top is all fiberglass and I have not issues at all with the gps. The soft top however sometimes presents some minor issues because of a metal bar in the top which runs pretty near to the antenna.

Is it normal for the GPS to freak out when I'm under a bridge or in a tunnel? This problem happens a lot and gives me anxiety when I'm going to a new place.

Funny enough I have mine installed at the center top of the metal windshield surround (under that plastic piece above rearview mirror) in my JK and have not had any issues. But I like your idea better. I think I'll move it to your placement.

I bought one (JY-TQ186N4G) recently for my 2016 RAV4. I also have the same GPS problem. I move the GPS antenna to different places and make sure the connection is secure. But it doesn't help. Sometimes I have a signal and overtime it will lose the signal.
I also have another problem which is the 4g LTE. The unit shows the 4G icon but Google chrome/youtube all said I am offline. Try to edit the APN but they are all greyed out, and there is no '+' anywhere for me to add a new APN. Looks like the carrier doesn't want anyone to change the APN.
So I am pretty stuck to get a good GPS fix (either using the shipped GPS antenna, or using the LTE). I am still researching and I will post if I can solve my situation.

Have you removed pin password from your sim card? You have to do this in other device, for example in your phone, before you instal the sim card in Joying.

Thanks for the tips. I already got it resolved and I should have posted an update earlier.
For the LTE, it is just my carrier locks the APN and the one shipped with Joying is totally wrong. I managed to find a way to create a new and correct APN.
For the GPS, it is a bit pain in the ass. I eventually find a spot that the HU can fix the signal.

I assume this is a rhetorical question. Some factory units and a few name brand aftermarket units are connected to a car speed wire. That is used to approximately keep your location when GPS signal is lost

I have a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 Tradesman. I've just found out they have a harness for the truck, but Im trying to make sure that if I do this that everything work as it should. How well is this device programming your steering wheel controls? I would rather do a device like these than the devices that are still not up to date and cost $1700. However, they seem to function very well. One particular would be Stinger Heigh 10 intergration

Also, can anyone tell me or can do a phone call/mic review on this device? It use to absolutely suck back in the day.
