[Q] Flashing NSCollab over cyanogenmod

I have installed 7.1 rc cyanogenmod on my SNS i9023.
Now i want to flash NSCollab on it, and i didn't find the guide, that tells me how to flash that mod over cyanogenmod, do i have to remove cyanogenmod first, and if so, how ?
Or is there a way to flash NSCollab over cyanogenmod, since its been build on cyanogenmod, and if so, how do i do it, if there is already a guide of it, could you just post a link?
Will my data be lost, and installed apps and games removed, if so, whats the best way to back it up ?
You need to download the zips and place them on your sdcard.
When in cwm, wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache and just flash.
And yeah, u r gonna lose everything after the data is wiped, so I would prolly back up apps with titanium backup

when you install a new room you need to do a full wipe and you will lose widgets, personal settings, contacts saved in phone memory, installed programs.. from SD-card you will not lose any data

Well, you don't lose anything if you take a nandroid backup, and decide to come back to the old ROM later...
As for flashing a new ROM, you lose anything that's not backed up online (eg. Google data, Facebook, Twitter etc)

[Q] How do apps "survive" flashing a kernel and ROM

Hi,
I was wondering: What is the reason when you flash a new kernel (BIOS) and ROM (OS) your apps can be still there?
Is it because the apps can be considered as portable programs - to use windows terminology - and anly some system folders are overwritten when flashing a new ROM?
Thanks,
TeTTiweTTi
when you install kernel, your apps will still untouched!
when you install new rom, your apps will be removed because this format the /system partition and wiping the data will remove your personal apps! but if you just made an update, I think your apps will will there.
As long as you dont wipe data or format system while installing a new rom then your apps will stay there but thats not recommended to prevent any bugs or issues that might happen to u.. Happy flashing

Titanium Backup very help full

Hello my dear all members i have made this thread bcz some peoples facing prblms when they restored their apps, so i will give them an easy method
Requirements:-
1. Only App " Titanium Backup "
Now let's starts...
Whenever u flash any new Rom, plz take a backup in Titanium for restoring
Now flash a Rom with full wipe
Like
Wipedata/ factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe dalvik cache
Format system
Format Data
Format cache
Wipe battery state
( if u do full wipe then your device will give u perfect performance what u want)
Now install Titanium Backup app open it n go to restored app
Then click on run n wait for apps restored..
After restored u must go to cwm again than 1.Clear cache n clear 2.dalvik cache n 3.battery state
Its an advice to take back up of yr Imp apps + data before flashing anything..
Its recommended to clear cache n dalvik cache n battery state after restored,If u want batter performance
Play Store link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup

Questions about TWRP and Gapps

1. What is the difference between wiping data and wiping internal storage? Will wiping data delete all my apps? When do I use this?
2. Will flashing a new Gapps package overwrite the old/existing Gapps package? What if the newer package has lesser apps than the old ones? I don't need to flash a new gapps package if I simply update the apps from the Play Store right?
Thanks in advance...

1) wiping data clears all app and user data. Wiping internal wipes everything from internal storage. Including pics, music, files, etc. Everything stored on your device's internal storage.
2)If you were flashing a new gapps package, first you would wipe data, dalvik, and cache. Then flash the new gapps package. Otherwise it could result in force closures.
Yes, you can just update via the play store.
Thanks mate
