[Q] What ROMS (other than Droidkang) have the ability to disable "Smart Cover Wake?"
I am currently running DK19 and one feature I love is that I can disable "Smart Cover Wake," it's in the display submenu. I have a flip cover and when that is enabled, when you close the flip cover the phone sleeps, and wakes up when you open it. I like to disable it at times, especially if I want to listen to something from youtube, but not watch it.
With DK not being updated often, I'd like to move to another ROM. Today I tried 3 other roms: Sensonic HD, Mahdirom, and AICP. None have this feature to be able to disable "Smart Cover Wake." I asked the dev behind cRoid about it, and he said he'd look into it, but he just released a new build so it could be a while,
Just wondering if someone knows of other current roms right now that have this feaure that allows you to disable smart cover wake. I'd love to jump on a current rom that has this feature.

I think I saw an xposed module that has an option to disable smart cover wake. Don't remember what its called but have a look around in their repository.

I would also gladly settle for a current custom rom that does not have smart cover at all, i.e. a rom that if you use a flip cover, opening and closing the cover does not wake/sleep the phone.

I might be wrong but I think CM does not have this feature. Or at least did not back in December !

CM does not have it, I have tried CM and other CM based ROMS. Like I said, I have it on DroidKang (which is CM based), but I'd like to find it on other ROMS since DroidKang is not active. Surely there is another Nexus 5 ROM out there that has ability to disable smart cover wake. I don't think the dev behind DroidKang (who is now missing) developed this.

As many of you might also know, Nokia has recently unveiled its new flagship - the N9 with MeeGo.
I thought there are two interesting things maybe also to have for Android:
1st the tiny clock when the phone is locked
2nd the gesture to wake the phone by tapping the screen twice
Luckily I already found a solution for my first question, an app called Off Clock. But still I am not 100% satisfied with it, as it merely is an app running rather than even running after the lock screen switched off. And also the clock is a little too big for me, but not such a big point... Maybe someone has a solution for that or can refer to another application?
For the 2 tap functionality I haven't found anything yet but i also think it is quite interesting. It should just work like this: In sleep mode double tap the screen and it wakes up and unveiles the lockscreen.
In an recent article from Engadget named "Nokia N9 first hands-on! (update: video)" in the hands on video you should find both things described above. (cannot yet post links...)

In the process of buying accessories for my Sensation, I've found a car mount that I really like. The only problem is that the mount covers where the charging port is. During Navigation, I can't have my phone just sucking that juice. I can remedy this by installing the phone upside down, and it would seem to hold just fine like that.
My problem is that Sense does not support 180-degree rotation. Navigation, nor none of the apps, recognize that my phone is turned "upside down". I'm not looking for an orientation locker, as I'm not concerned with that. CyanogenMOD comes with an optional "180-mode" not found in any other ROM.
Is this an extractable apk, or flashable ZIP? I know it will be in the Sensation build of CyanogenMOD, but I'd like to experiment with some of the other ROMs in the mean time.
Any suggestions?
as long as you pick a rom w/o sense 3.0, it will support homescreen rotation...no need to wait for CM7 just for that feature
So, I'm running 4.4.2 with the latest Xposed and Sense 5 Toolbox, but I have a question about the Volume2Wake option.
Is it normal that that feature sometime reacts and wakes the phone like expected, and sometimes it does nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

Yeah, volume2wake was a bit temperamental on 4.3 also. If you have a flip case get an app off the playstore that uses your proximity/light sensor to wake the device.

I don't see the new hardware button brightness mods. Are they available for the One Mini?
BTW there are bugs in the Soft Reboot and Backup/Restore Sections. The text is light gray instead of black.

Are there any roms that have multi-window or double tap to wake built in? I've tried a few apps from the market for both of these but have not found a good option for either. The power button is a pain in the rear to use, i've taken to pulling the pen out, which really isn't that much easier. I'd love to run Android M on the system, but it does not look like anyone has worked to port that to the shield.
First off, I thank every individual out there making the F1 a much much better phone. No doubt it needs much recognition like you guys do.. but I want to make an announcement on behalf of all the custom ROM lovers out there.
We all know how fricked up miui is... But the only thing which makes miui a much preferred is a very minor thing which may not be a very major thing...
1. Raise to wake.
2. Double tap to sleep or wake all over the ROM(currently it's only on the lock screen and we need it on the home screen too and make us not depend on third party launchers like Nova.
3. Faster IR sensor reaction times. Like in miui the IR Sensor wakes faster than the miui lockscreen itself thereby allowing us to bypass the lockscreen entirely. Please please we need although it looks like a gimmick but these are some user experience thingies and I and all of us would love for you to add these too... And I appreciate everyone's hardwork at making this phone one of the best phones to ever release till date. Thank you

Not sure about 1 and 3 but 2 works fine on crdroid 6.11 . (it's default launcher controlled).
To add to that i've never used the IR camera wakeup thing, since it requires a fair amount of precision and it may wake up accidentally on occasions .
Raise to wake may be set by a set value on how hard you have to shake/lift the phone to wake it up. Basically it's fine tuning which is usually done when testing a rom / needs a person that's wiling to test just that.
Again, personally i find using 2 fingerprints being the fastest way to unlock a phone, since you can place your finger in the pocket and fully unlock it. Come to think of it i can think of a few cases where it can be useful, but still, those people usually buy iPhones, because they want to feel special.

Lmao iPhone noobs be wrecked by Poco F1. For me the only thing that made me stay on the miui albeit the bugs is its pretty accurate raise to wake and the synchronisation between sensor and raise to wake. If I get it I'll be jumping on the roms the next day but then it's still not made yet

Regarding #2. : in LineageOS (and probably other custom ROMs), there is a new option that might get your interest. You can find it in Settings > System > Buttons > Edge long swipe action. I set it to Turn screen off.
This is what I used to "replace" double tap to sleep on Home screen to quickly put the phone to sleep.

It was enabled on LineageOS 17.1 and now on 18.1
