For example swiping away apps from recent apps killing their services (making mail and similar malfunction).
Or LED not properly working (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666298 requesting feedback).

You need to be more specific...what are your 'glitches', and do they even apply to fellow Nexus 5 owners...

You appear to be causing your own 'glitch'...
I believe the 'solution' is simple...stop needlessly swiping them away from recent apps

I'm not saying this isn't a glitch, but you need to be a bit more specific when reporting it. Does this happen on all stock / custom ROM / kernel combination you have tried?

I have complete stock build, nothing touched. I made a friend of mine test this too and he seems to have the same problem.
The first notification after a reboot glitches, only lights up with lots of different colors veeery quickly and won't work properly until you swipe that notification away.
Just tried Light manager, and it has the very same problem.

It shouldn't be any hardware bugs at the start when buying a expensive phone like this.
I have this on my phone too, just took it out of the box...dang this post, I was looking for it from the start.
Are people waiting on this in hopes it's a software/refresh glitch, or exchanging their phone?
I don't have a T-mobile store here in town, just a stand at the mall How do I convince them to stare at the screen long enough to notice it?

It could be a software bug too.
When people get their display replaced the problem is solved.

Why am I having so much trouble getting light flow to work? I just had it working fine on my galaxy Nexus so I definitely know how to set it up but no matter what I do it won't work.
Are there any special settings I need to turn on or off?

Make sure Light flow is checked in accessibility settings. So currently, having an "always on" notification for any one setting will mess with the other settings. Dev is working on a fix. other than that it should be working.
What exactly is happening on your end, you didn't give a lot of detail?

You should be starting to get the update now. I've done a workaround for always on as the LG drivers just don't accept it. I'd class the "always on " option for the Nexus 5 as being "almost always on"
Updated the app now, will see how it goes
I still seem to be getting notification light illuminated after the notification has been read.
Addmitedly I don't have it running as a foreground service.
Anyone know of a way to get rid of the lightflow notification in the pull down shade? I like to keep that area clean for notifications. I know other apps offer an option to disable that notification.

Your wakelocks or horrible. You need BBS as stated, but the instant drop is indicative of a bug in the stock rom or kernel. If it keeps doing that after the wakelock issues are resolved, you may need to flash another rom.

I think Google search incorporates Google Now which yes, mega battery drain in my opinion especially if it is polling for location constantly.
edit: that looks like my battery stats when I don't try to conserve energy and have heavy usage.

So how do I fix this? Turn off location would somewhat render Google Now to be useless, as does turning it off.

Going through some threads it seems most dont experience any lag so im wondering what the problem could be in my case i sometimes notice slight lags when opening/closing app drawer, switching to quick settings, opening/closing apps (turned off animations so not really a problem now) and a few other instances is this normal? it got quite bad so i unrooted it and locked bootloader then unlocked and re-rooted and at the moment i am on stock rom, stock launcher and faux123 stable mainline 11 kernel
Glad I'm not the only one. Do the apps include any of the following: Timely, YouTube?

hopefully it is something that an android update will fix soon as its not just apps for me its everywhere but not all the time, i was wondering if its the custom kernel im using? Hopefully it isn't as i cant change the gamma values in stock kernel so that is the main reason for me flashing a custom one

Doubt it's your kernel. I'm running stock and suffering as well :/ It could also be a defect, some run fine others don't. Same with the same speaker issue, some newer owners especially the red ones claim it sounds better as the old ones.

Try switching to ART runtime, it seems to be much smoother. Im using Franco's kernel with a lot of downgrading in setup and yet I don't experience lags.
I did think about switching to ART but to be honest i dont want to lose anything in terms of stability but hopefully soon it will become part of an update so if lag is normal on dalvik now i dont mind waiting i just wanted to see if its normal or im doing something wrong

You might nee to play with some settings there Like governor and Hotplug.

Installing updates from Play doesn`t make the phone laggy unless there is a problem with an app or some apps. Rebooting after installing updates clears most problems most of the time.

Don't think so, no. Unless you know which exact colors in which exact pixels are causing the issue, which is pretty impossible.

This is a bug in Lollipop and has nothing to do with a hardware defect. I get this in several other apps as well. A fix from Google is already on the way and will be released with a next update of Android.
