[Q] New Sprint Phone Unlimited Tethering? - General Questions and Answers

Hi All,
I live in a remote area and need an unlimited connection for home use... The Sprint network is great here, however the "unlimited" plan limits tethering to 5gb. I was looking at the LG G2, or Nexus 5, (I have a Nexus 7 and love it) but it seems as if Pdanet/Foxfi will not work.
Is there a work around for the G2 or is there a similar phone that will allow me to share my unlimited data? (Don't mind rooting, just not too familiar with it)

Thanks for any feedback, and sorry if this isn't posted in the right area.

[Q] Verizon Unlimited Data Question/Concern

Hi,
I am currently using a Moto Droid 3, and have been stuck with this as I want to keep my unlimited data. However, I have multiple lines on this Verizon account. I know the common solution to keeping your unlimited data plan is to buy the phone you want at full price.
What I am curious about is if I use an upgrade on a different line, could I activate that phone on my unlimited line and keep my unlimited data? I've done some searching and I haven't seen anyone say if this is doable or not, and I didn't want to ask Verizon directly. They seem pretty sensitive when it comes to people and their unlimited plans.
As a back up question, could I activate the phone on the line that has the upgrade then just move it over to the unlimited line and keep my unlimited plan. This wouldn't lock me out of 4g service and be stuck on 3g would it? (I have heard grandfathered data plans moved to 4g, but I have also read that moving from 3g to 4g can get your plan changed)
Thank you for help, its much appreciated. I'm just really not sure how it works between buying a phone retail vs buying a phone from an upgrade then moving it around.

[Q] Hot spot/tethering

Hello guys,
If this thread is in the wrong place then I do apologise, anyway...
I have a Nexus 7 and I want to be able to connect to the internet when I am not in a Wi-Fi area. To do this I use the hotspot feature on my iPhone. Does anyone know if this costs money?
Thanks in advanced
Rob
Like Sewrizer said you should call your carrier and check with them. I also heard of apps that will allow you to hide the fact that you are tethering... but not sure how effective that is.
For me I'm on an unlimited plan and the carrier doesn't care if I tether or not. I never understood why carriers charge more for tethering anyways, especially for limited plans. If I'm paying for a 10 GB plan, then I should be able to use that 10 GB however I want!

Have you considered a Sprint Mobile Hotspot. I have the newest Netgear 4G LTE version and it has been outstanding. This device comes with TRUE Unlimited Data. It's the 3rd Sprint Hotspot device I've had and this Netgear blows the other two out of the water in reliability, connection stability, speed, and a battery that will last 2 (business) days with moderate to heavy use. --- It also recently lit up with the Sprint Spark icon. While this upgraded service is not yet available, the device is obviously ready for implementation.

[Q] At&t Note Edge Free Tethering unpaid

I am a noob here please be gentle. Tethering with out paying on At&t network from Unlimited Data plan using Nexus 5 is solely because the device does not come with preloaded Mobile Hotspot app, no matter how much I tried to uninstall or delete it. My question is then if I buy Samsung Galaxy Note Edge unlock will these comes with preloaded At&t apps? Or was the reason for successful tethering unpaid is due to being Nexus line of device?
AT&T bloatware will be included in every Samsung phone you buy from them. As far as I know, any plan above 10GB included free tethering.
Sent from my Samsung Note Edge using Tapatalk
You will not be able to tether with the Note Edge without reporting to AT&T... at least until root has been achieved. Damn near all new devices come with a tethering app that reports to AT&T to check that you are paying to do so. Nexus is capable because the app your using does not report home, but AT&T will catch on if you use a large amount of data on your unlimited plan. They can check browser connection requests that identify if you are using a PC based browser.
I moved from Note 2 to the Edge with this concern. I ended up letting go of my unlimited. AT&T was throttling me monthly, and the rare times that I did use tethering, they would catch on after a week or two sending a letter to stop or purchase the plan to do so. I now have 30gb with tethering, unlimited talk and text for about 20 dollars less than what I was paying. And that's with walking out of the store with the Note Edge.
I peaked at 15gb a month with my unlimited plan, so I feel 30gb unthrottled and with tethering was fair enough. Not too bad a deal.
Hope that answers your questions, and a little insight from someone that was in a similar situation.

Unlimited Hotspot/tethering

Hey guys, Im new here and my search for an answer let me to you for help. so here goes...
As you probably know by now, Verizon has released an unlimited plan, catch is after 10 gigs of hotspot you are knocked
back to 3g for further hotspoting during the billing cycle, I need a way around this as LTE is my soul source of high speed
intenet access as cable isn't available in my area.
I know about the pdanet+ app and tethering it to a laptop via cable allows for hiding the tether usage from the carrier,
does this still work? If so once its hooked up can I use my laptop like a router for other devises in the house and still be
masking the tether usage?
Or perhaps there is a simpler way now? Im open to all suggestions, BTW right now I'm on a iPhone but have come to the
conclusion if Im going to make this work I need to switch to a android (probably a galaxy s7 edge)
Tommy
Unfortunately on Verizon they have any way to do just gotta blocked. But if you really want unlimited data and Hotspot you have two options.
T-Mobile One plan
AT&T Unlimited Data Plan** (https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/att-mobile-hotspot-glitch-t3383680)
**Only works for Galaxy S7 Edge AT&T branded on 6.0.1 not 7.0
I did the AT&T Unlimited Data Plan. Screenshots attached. ?
These are the only ways that I can personally confirm.
