One would hope so, but I just bought a 64 GB Samsung microSD card recently so I should be fine for now.

you can a 128gb sd card for way cheaper. then one of those $5 microsd to sd adapters. i've seen people do it for the note 2 with no problems
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
128gb is huge. Can't justify how I would need that size. Sticking with my 64gb for now. But good to know new technology is coming out.
I'm getting close to filling my current 64GB microSDXC card, so I'm really glad to see that the 128GB card is now available. Given my current rate of music collection expansion, I'll be buying one of these in about six months or so. It's hard not to just jump on the Amazon deal now, but I figure it doesn't hurt to wait and will allow Samsung to fix any possible roll-out bugs in the cards.

I don't like needing to delete stuff constantly to make room for other stuff. It doesn't usually matter in the short term, but over long periods of time, I'm always wishing I hadn't deleted something I didn't think I'd need. That's why I save every single text message I send, back them up, and upload that backup to my drop box, which I've got 75 gigs of space free... And unlimited data plan, so it's basically an online sd card....
I love more space. I just don't like how long they are taking to release. They can probably fit a terabyte on a micro sd card now. If not a micro, then a regular sdcard for sure. But they'll release them one by one, in 64gb increments till infinity.

Apparently that cover over the card can be removed with no problems? Haven't tried any of this myself. I'm looking for the pic of the guy who had it under the stock cover but it's buried somewhere in the Note 2's "post pics of your case" thread.

Just Google "sd to microsd converter : dx.com"
6 bucks. I've found back covers and protective cases that will house this easy. And possibly a bigger battery as well, since that's what those covers are for....IF there's room above the battery and below the camera, for the converter. Idk though. I'll have to get my hands on the converter, then go to world of wireless to check out battery's and back covers. I don't think I'd mind my s4 feeling a bit more thick/heavy.
Def doable. And for a lot less then even a 64gb micro.
It's odd this product isn't more well known. That must be the retailers trying to hide it from the public by not producing it or selling it in their stores. For about 26 bucks, plus the cost of a reg sd card, you can have 4 times the space widely thought as currently available.

That will cost some money. and probably replace my external hard drive and have all the movies with me, and also use foldermount to install thousands of games.
Moving files to the sd will take longer than using all of the data in it...
Modern technology is just awesome. how do they make such a small thing with 128gb.
I could easily fill a 2TB SD card with music and movies if there were such a thing and it was affordable. I much prefer local storage to some remote data store controlled by somebody else, aka the "cloud". Would be awesome to be able to carry my entire media library in my phone without needing any other devices or even a data connection, and be free to watch or listen to anything I wanted at any time, rather than deciding ahead of time what to transfer to the phone. But 128GB is a great step in the right direction.
I got my mine on Saturday. Writing at around 10-15MB/s.

I had read somewhere that there were some 32 GB cards on ebay that were fake, sorry I can't recall the link. Looking at the photo enlarged of the card, the pixels from the "32" look much more clear than the "GB". But that's just my opinion.
...and there is no class rating on the card so if it were for real it'd probably be just a Class 2. Still, for only $17.00 including shipping I'm inclined to get one and run it through some tests just to satisfy my curiosity.
The seller has decent feedback, but it's mostly for jewelry and the like. If I had to guess I would say that they are probably rejects that corrupt data or are really fragile or something that someone pulled out of the garbage at the factory and took home.

Beware of new 32Gb sd cards!

Guide viewed: 2228 times Tags: Sd | card | sdhc | 32gb | 32 gb
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most SD Cards on Ebay with a capacity of 32Gb that cost under USD $60 is almost surely fake. The biggest problem is that the card looks like the capacity is 32Gb and works properly until more than 2, 4 or 8GB are used.
This cards are programmed to look like their capacity is of 32GB, however after the user passes the 2,4 or 8GB that the card really is the data starts to become corrupt, as data is overwritten.
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF:
Firstly, check the verification numbers that the sd cards have, such as Very flash from kingston. If the card does not pass the test it is surely fake. In this case ask the seller for a refund ASAP.
Sometimes the only way to verify if the card is real is using a specific software. The software is called H2TESTW and it writes data on the card and verify if the data is not overwritten as the card fills up. Another important thing to notice is the writing speed that can also be fake, as some class 2 cards are sold as class 10.
Summing up, when buying a 32Gb sd card cheap almost always means fake. Try to look the price that well established sellers are selling, and try to understand the minimum price. If good sellers sell it for $100 and some new sellers sold hundreds of cards for $25, be sure that hundreds of people been scammed with fake capacity cards.
Even good suppliers can sometimes receive fake cards mixed with good cards, especially if their distributors are located in Shenzhen, the center of electronics in China, that also happens to be the center of fake electronics.
Good luck and remember to always use paypal when buying the sd cards for increased safety in case they turn out to be fake. Happy shopping!
I just got burned on a 32GB card on ebay, after a couple 100 MB the format would get corrupted. I placed an order with newegg for Class 10 Patroit mcro SDHC card for $99. I disputed the payment with paypal today and sent an email to the seller that he had 24 hour to refund my money before I would give him negative feedback. Beware in buying anything from prasath200 on ebay
The auction I linked to has ended...i think before it was supposed to end. Maybe they made them take it down...
Anyway, that Patriot card looks like a good investment. I watch a lot of video on my phone...how much smoother would file loading and playback be if I went from the stock 16GB class 2 card to that 32GB Patriot class 10?

I've been running the Patriot 32gb Class 10 micro sd card for the past 2 or 3 weeks, and i'm loving it... Yeah $100 for a card is alot, but if you need the space it is well worth it for the space, and speed... blazing fast night and day difference between even a class 6. Newegg usually sells out QUICK, even within an hour of showing in stock on their site. Best bang for your buck in a 32gb class 10 micro sd I've seen..
Out of curiosity - What do you use the space for?
I use my phone as an mp3 player too. So I have alot of music on it, back ups, and roms take up a lot of space also. No such thing as too much space.

LOL I am going to stick with my 16 GB considering I didn't even cap the 2 GB that came with my hero
Speaking of HTC (in the Mesmerize forum, I know)... my friend missed out on the free Mesmerize deal that I got so he ended up with an HTC Desire. That model hadn't been on the market THAT much longer than the Mesmerize, but it only came with a 2GB card. Granted, I had a 2GB card in my Motorola Rokr and it held a surprising amount of music... but it wasn't a smart phone and a 2GB card seems pretty skimpy... especially since the onboard RAM in the Desire in much less than the Mez in the first place.
I think we should sticky this thread.

With all the issues that seem to be plaguing the TF, would it be advantageous to wait for the Galaxy Tab 10.1? I was under the impression it would have a TW overlay, but an article I read today said it is a stock Android Experience Device.
Without factoring in the Dock, should I wait for the Tab?
Looking at google i/o special edition there was no sd slot or hdmi port on the tablet. I havent found any site that show it will come with the either. So, you are going to spend more for a tablet where you cant expand the space. Samsung will have issues too, minor or major we just dont know yet. Samsung record of release updates are not great. Samsung wil also have terga 2 like the TF. Pls screen vs ips screen, wow 10% brighter then ips. Imho, Tab 10.1 will be a failure.

Yeah, it looks pretty nice but I must have a microsd slot and I really like mini hdmi. (Hooked it up last night to a HDTV and it looks really good!)
I can't believe I read that this is actually THINNER than the iPad 2. The iPad 2 is pretty dang thin.
The weight and thin factors had me very intrigued at first. Then I heard it would have Touchwiz which I hated on my phone when it was stock, so that pretty much turned me off from it. Then yesterday, I read somewhere it wasn't going to have TW. I see now that was just the Google IO version.
Thanks for the answers and I guess I will be sticking with the TF. I do like the fact that I can expand the storage capacity as well.
No matter what, TouchWiz should have the option to be disabled, that is a must for an Android device.
There should be some way of expanding/connecting the device to other devices, so there will be at least USB (possibly mini) or SD card slot (probably micro SD). But the problem with our guesses is that the design might still be fluid. Look at the TF, according to the reviews as of 1 month before I got mine, there were various buttons, and it was still running Froyo or something.

I will get the galaxy 10.1 for sure. If I like it I will keep it, else it goes back or resold depending on the market. Same goes for every gadget I buy. One of the perks of shopping at bestbuy, use for 45 days then return for full refund.
I will also be getting the htc flyer whenever that gets released but most likely will use it for a week and give it back.
I'm also considering getting it as well. I like the TF, blows the Xoom away, but the thinness of the GT is really appealing. I also have an iPad 2 and love the way it feels in your hand, the thinness really makes a big difference. The TF feels slightly more "clunky" than the iPad 2, but not as bad as the Xoom.
Samsung does make nice screens, I'm sure the GT's will look good. I have some slight backlight bleed on my TF and it's starting to drive me nuts.
I was looking at the images on Samsung's website GT section, and the UI looks pretty much stock HC to me, perhaps they're using a stripped down version of TouchWiz on this (I hope). Also, on the image of the side view, it does appear to have a MicroSD slot there, but not sure, could be for the sim card?

Do you do that to show off that you have the latest gadgets? Sure, technology changes quickly but that's not the reason for the return policy. I'm sure BB will figure it out soon.
So i recently bought this microSD card:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...NaB1JX0%3D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I was really excited that 32GB cards had gotten this cheap and for a class 10 one I was ecstatic!
Turns out it was a dupe and the drive is not only slow as a turtle, it doesn't really hold anything. (put 10GB of stuff on it and after the transfer was complete I went to the phone and only ~5GB of stuff was on there)
Also the adapter that came with it doesn't even work with it, it only responded to my phone (whereas my trusty 16GB from Dane Elec worked fine in the adapter).
Here's the comparison of my badass Class 2 16GB and the ****ty "Class 10 32GB"

Idk but I just won a Class 2 ADATA 32GB card, I know they are a good company (I run an 8GB Class 6 SDHC in my camera from them and it's great) and am crossing my fingers I'll get another surprisingly fast card like the DaneElec 16GB.
Only cost me $40.03 with an auction, I saw some other brand name ones for $44, maybe slightly less. I'll be sure to make a review of the ADATA when I receive it. Ebay says it will be here between the 14th or 15th

ahh. isee. the price is pretty crazy on those. prolly why i had never seen them.
warning to peeps interested. it seems the patriot brand has some iffy reviews.
82$ for 32gig card is crazy!
Ebay put out an article to watch out for fake sd cards. Too bad you missed it.
I went with the 32gig class 10 lexar on amazon. Works great, amazingly fast transfer speeds!

A 32gb alone would be expensive. But at a class 10 also? sounds like an extra 40$

i'm not complaining at that price, considering i have about 4 of the 16gb cards that the phone ships with
I had the same issue. Got one from ebay, real junk. Gonna wait till Best Buy has them on the shelf a couple months before I dive in again. Right now they still don't stock them. They keep saying "coming soon"
I paid $99 for my 32GB class 2 SanDisk microSDHC from Verizon when they first became available about a year ago. It's easily as fast as my 8GB class 6 ADATA which I bought from Newegg. I did some benches on it when I first got it and was really impressed. I'm sure I posted them here...
Anyway, I never buy memory cards on ebay. It's too easy for people to fake capacity and lie about speeds. Plus a high quality card with a low class rating in my experience is much better/faster than a low quality card with a high class rating.
It's a Class 4, but thought I'd post it anyway in case someone wanted it. $18 is a damned good price.

There's also a Class 10 from Samsung that's $30 at the same store.

Nice find.
I ended up buying the Class 10 as my other card died for some reason.
Amazon also has cards for real cheap. Around the same price as frys. Their 64 gbs got real cheap too (70 bucks now). Might try to pick them up soon.
if Fry's like Micro Center? I have never been to Fry's but hear about 'em a lot.

From what I understand, the higher the class, the faster the card.

Yes. I always go with the statement "the class is about the speed of the card". So you want the highest class possible. I suggest, in a mobile phone, so you don't really experience any lag when playing music stored on the card, you'll want to have a class 6 or higher. I always go for a class 10, if I can.

I've had 2 cheap sd cards die on me...
Exact same symptoms both times... First notice that some of my installed (on SD) apps are showing up with a shadow icon after a re-boot, fixable with a dismount and remount of the card, then it happens to more of the apps, then within a week or 2 the sd card reports itself as "blank or unformatted" Once it got to that point they couldn't be formatted by any device I have...
From first symptom to dead card was about 3 weeks or so total both times.
I'll cough up the extra for a decent card this time.

From what I understand, the phone hardware and/or rom may limit how high a class can be used. On my old HTC Aria running CM7 there was no point buying anything higher than class 6 (I used a 4 with no problems). I don't know if the skyrocket or ICS have the same issue. Still, you're not likely to notice much of a difference at class 6 or higher (depending on how you use it).

I've had a Class 2, 4, and 6 (w/UMS-1) micro SDXC cards. They were all retail packaged Sandisk. On 4 different Galaxy phones (Galaxy U, S, SII, SII Skyrocket) and one external usb reader, the transfer speed was 3.8MB-4.5MB when transferring large files. Classes didn't seem to matter on the Galaxy phones or the usb reader I had. Looking at the results of my test, I'm glad I didn't buy a 64GB micro sdxc Class 10 for double the price as it is telling me that I probably won't be seeing any speed improvements with it. I think part of the reason why it is so slow is that I'm transferring from a USB external to my USB plugged in device. But that is almost always going to be the case with me.
It would be nice to see UMS-1 compatible Galaxy phones in the future.
Tempted to get a 32gb one. I keep having to delete image backups when testing out 5 different ROMs at the same time :silly:
I had an issue with my Skyrocket and SD Cards a month or so back. The phone would take 4-5 seconds to wake up when I pressed the power key. I had a class 4 16GB Wintec MicroSD in there. When I took the MicroSD out, the phone jumped right back to normal.
Has anyone else had this problem, and more importantly, has anyone else using a Class 6+ MicroSD noticed lag time between waking the device and the display coming on? I might have to go get myself a Class 6 (if not Class 10) MicroSD if everyone's had good luck thus far.

You need to re-run that SD card test app and change the path from sdcard to external sd card. That test ran on the internal sd card memory for the phone and not the external card. (another hint is it shows total memory size is 11GB)

YEah I was wondering how you got much higher spees than I did hahaha.
Max write is 13/mbs and I was hitting 10 consistantly. Max read is 24 and I couldn't get higher than 20-20.5

Yeah the USB Adapter benchmark was giving 20/11 so I was surprised when my bro sent me his benchmarks and it was higher (I was thinking it was the benchmark itself) but I guess I overlooked the internal SD.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting the Samsung evo + u3 128gb or the sandisk ultra uhs-i 200gb.
Which of these cards would work perfectly for the note 9? I have read from somewhere that the note 9 can't fully utilize the speed of the Samsung evo +.
I would like to store my media on the card and 4k footage recorded should be stored directly into the card.
Thanks for the input.
I'm using the Sandisk 400GB and it's been flawless so far.
Go for a Samsung Evo + class 10 high end card. I have a 65 gig one and transfer speed and durability are excellent. They're only 20 bucks. I've had many problems over the years with other brands.
I have the same Sandisk Ultra 128GB Micro SDXC that I've used since I had my S7 and it works great. Only $27 on Amazon.
Same here, I use the Sandisk Ultra 128GB
I still use the 256gb Samsung that came with the note 7, works like a champ. I am waiting for the Samsung 512gb to come out, so I can have the 1tb total.

Thanks guys for the recommendation. I finally pulled the trigger on the Samsung evo + 128gb. Been using the same sandisk 64gb since my galaxy s3 days ( about 7 years) just need to upgrade the size . 128 + 128 in total seems about right.
However, the Note9 can't achieve the ideal speed of 90mbps write speed for this card.
If you have the extra cash I'd jump on this one right now. I'm using it and it's performing flawlessly.

90mb is about 11MB/s. Read will always be faster. Write takes longer. It is 2018 and I don't understand why people still don't understand this. But there are many people that believe the Earth is flat in 2018.

I guess you all missed the 400GB Sandisk for $99 on Amazon. I was trying to hold out for Samsung or SanDisk to come out with their 512GB micro SD card but realized it will probably be 12-18 months before price comes down to a palatable level so I settle for the 400GB for $100.
Best???? Well the 256GB HyperX Gaming uSD card... But only by a tiny margin (Claimed speeds: 100MB/s read speeds, 80MB/s write speeds):

Also have this one and love it
Also, using Samsung Evo 128.

Just curious, and to get ideas, guys. What reasons do you have for getting such large SD cards, perhaps lots of photos/videos? Currently still using my old 32Gb SD card from my Note 4 and still works well for backups and photos, plus w/ the Note 9's 128Gb, I've barely reached half. Where do you guys use it for, perhaps I may find some more usefulness for it and get a new, larger one. Thanks.

Exactly that. Videos, photos, music and documents. I rather have it on my device than access through the cloud.

Some people just consume more media and need more space for media than others. Games these days are also quite heavy for storage so they can eat up your internal pretty easily. And just to add to what @DarkManX4lf has said, some users would rather not be at the mercy of data coverage to access cloud storage. Having your media and other files on hand 24/7 regardless of data/WiFi coverage is a valuable option.
If your usage habits currently don't necessitate the use of a large Micro SD card then I don't see the point in replacing the one you have now.

I now use my cell more than my desktop/laptop. I can go an entire week or so without getting on there. So between it being my main computer at home, work, car, etc and also needing extra space for Gear VR games/media, the larger card is well used.
