I recently rooted my Nexus 5 by following directions in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515640 I then installed a few apps, the ClockworkMod ROM Manager and then also the MultiROM Manager (not sure why). When I rebooted after the MultiROM manager, I get the Google screen but then... nothing. Just blackness.
I can restart to get back into the Boot Recovery mode and back to MultiROM, though my laptop won't recognize my phone so I can't install a ROM. It seems at some point, the entire ROM was wiped but I can't install a new one without having USB access to transfer the file. Any thoughts/ideas?
Have you installed the right drivers on your laptop?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, you can use a otg connection to install another rom / kernel. Have you tried wiping data/cache via recovery? Fastboot should be working if you can go into fastboot mode, maybe you should check your drivers/cable or use another computer.
No custom recovery I don't believe... Android File Transfer (I'm on a Mac) pops up but says "Could not connect to device". I've connected this Nexus 5 many times before to this laptop (literally 20 minutes ago) so I don't think it's a driver issue.
I'm in the "Team Win Recovery Project", went into Wipe and then Factory Reset but when I reboot, nothing still.

Use Philz Touch recovery, TWRP has many issues like this...
If your device isn't being recognized by your MAC, then I will suggest you to find a pc or if you have a OTG cable with you, you can use it to flash a rom...
Hello.
I have rooted my Shield Tablet a while ago, but I tried installing a dark theme and everything goes wrong.
It wont boot, but I was able to use ABD tools to open CWM Recovery and factory reset. But I was too confident of everything going to work, so I installed SuperSU.zip from the recovery and booted it. But now it doesn't start again, but now I don't have USB debugging enabled.
So I'm stuck here now. Could anyone help me?
Regards Casper.
I let a friend try to root it and he screwed me. The phone won't boot into the os, fastboot, or recovery. in fact it constantly tries to install some new recovery but gets to 25% and repeats. I can get into download mode, I assume it's download mode. that's the only way my pc will recognize the phone. I've tried everything, can't even find the stock rom and recovery for this thing. ADB doesn't see the device nor does fastboot. Am I out of luck or is there some type of fix for this?
Hey,
I own a WileyFox Storm that runs Cyanogen OS (kipper) as stock. A while back, I tried to root it, but failed so gave up. As it turns out, I forgot to get rid of the TWRP CR (which was an edition specifically designed for the Storm). There is now an update which I would like to install, but obviously it does not work because I do not have stock recovery.
MY PHONE IS NOT ROOTED!!!
I was going to flash the stock recovery using ADB fastboot, however my phone is now refusing to be recognised by my PC. Yes;
- I have the correct drivers installed.
- I have enabled USB debugging (I have also tried disabling it).
- I have tried rebooting both my phone and PC.
- I have tried rebooting my phone and wiping Cache and Dalvik Cache.
- I have tried with a different USB cable, and tried using a different USB port.
- I have tried removing my SD card.
My phone says that it is charging (which is is) when it connects to my PC, but nothing comes up, anywhere. No notifications (on both devices), ADB nor fastboot recognises it, no *chime* sound on my PC.
I cannot try using a different PC (I only have one). So, how can I replace the TWRP recovery with stock recovery???
Thanks )
Im stuck on nvidia logo. With no recovery and OS.
I am planning to go back to stock.
But i cannot connect shield to my laptop. It doesn't connect, it just charging. I tried adb, i tried my device manager but i still got nothing.
Please, if anyone knows a solution on how to connect. Or to go back to stock
How do you know there's no recovery? Did you mess up the partition?
That part, i mean i used fastboot and success, but im stuck. Like its not installed. But when i tried twrp 3.1 it was installed but the problem is it wont touch.
If you can access fastboot, that means you can pretty much re-flash recovery and the ROM. Download the latest recovery image file from the Nvidia download center (it's 5.1). Don't need twrp for that
