[Q] HTC One SV cricket S-OFF problems - HTC One SV

Hi guys, I have many problems, but if the top one is solved, it'll fix everything else.
I recently just rooted my shiny new HTC One SV from Cricket. It has TWRP recovery, stock 4.2.2 Sense 5. Nothing changed, just a root and unlock from htcdev. I installed Titanium Backup and tried uninstalling. When I rebooted, all the bloatware came back. Tried various applications that removes apps and the same thing happens. I did a lot of digging for a few days and found out that the problem was the stock kernel having system write protection.
Yes, I made sure all my drivers are up to date, antivirus off, HTC Sync uninstalled (or frozen in this case, since I couldnt uninstall apps on my phone and it wasn't installed on my computer).
So I looked at a kernel compatible with my phone just to find out I need S-OFF. Bootloader showed S-ON. It probably wouldn't work. So I went ahead and tried S-OFF with rumrunner. Did not work at all. I even tested fastboot and it showed my device. It just showed [-----TTTTT******************************] and said "Press Enter to exit". Rebooted into bootloader just to see it still said S-ON. Then I tried moonshine. It successfully rebooted my phone into bootloader and when it said "Booting device" I saw a small green bar increment on the top right of the screen. Then it just times out after 60 saying ADB connection failed. I tried to get out of bootloader but it was completely frozen. Now when I try to do fastboot device to see if my phone shows up, it shows completely nothing. Strange. Went googling a bit and after a day or so, found the universal naked drivers which finally showed my device in fastboot and attempted the moonshine S-OFF. Same problem.
So then I took out the battery and rebooted back and tried fastboot again. Now my devices doesn't show up anymore until I try to reinstall the drivers. I'm totally confused and stuck on what to do. I really need S-OFF so I can normally use my rooted device to its full potential. This is my top problem.
My brother has the same exact HTC phone, from cricket. Is it safe to use his backup and restore it to my phone to have what I need and want? He has everything, debloated, S-OFF, root, etc.
Sorry for a long post, but the more detailed the better help I get right?

Try rumrunner again and make sure, your phone can completely boot to Homescreen without any lock! Set display timeout to 10 minutes and watch your phone, there are Superuser rights to grant and other info to be shown.

That worked! Oddly enough...I did the same exact thing about 4 times. I must've missed something.

Had the same error like you, the first time. Second try was successful.

[Q] HTC One S Terrible bootloop/soft brick on TrickDroid ,cant find solution

Ok guys, new to the forums but this problem has had me fully occupied for the last 6 hours and I feel like I have tried everything. I had cm9 alpha 12, and went to flash TrickDroid v5.0, something happened and I'm currently stuck in some wierd bootloop/soft brick. I had access to CWM but my SD card wouldn't mount and my adb push attempts didn't do anything, for reasons I don't know why. My phone would start up into the wierd trickdroid bootup and last for like 30 minutes. I tried the solution of another thread on how to fix a bootloop/ softbrick, but now I dont have any CWM access and I can only access the bootloader or the endless bootup screen. I tried using the all in one tool to flash the CWM again but it just restarts it and puts it back into the bootup, and when i restart to go to bootloader to acess the recovery, it goes back to bootup. Every solution I try makes my problem worse, and to top it off I cant turn my phone off and keep it off because it will just start back up. Thanks.
Edit: Problem fixed. Downloaded the original all in 1 tool for htc one s, plugged phone into comp went to fastboot and with the tool flashed the phones stock recovery. I reset to factory defaults and cleared storage with it from the bootloader. After that, I flashed clockwork mod recovery again and my SD card was able to be mounted and accepted files from my adb push, and I reflashed cyanogenmod. Wuzzah!

lol, meant to "quote" not "thanks".
Can you fastboot a new recovery?
Did you do a full wipe coming from CM9 to TrickDroid
Well I can't access the phone from usb on my computer (still takes charge though), so I don't think I can flash a recovery thru fastboot (I'm not too experienced though). From cm9, I wiped all and flashed trickdroid + tweak set, then it just stat their at home screen. CMW being lost occurred later.
Im in the same situation rght now. I have trickdroid and I went into my tweaks to set them back to their original setup...so removing all of the options I chose before when I used the tweaks for the first time. When I rebooted my phone it just hangs on the HTC screen. I can get into recovery and I tried reinstalling trickdroid but its still getting stuck. Not sure what to do at this point. I don't think I can put a recovery file on this since I can't connect it to my computer.
Hopefully someone can help us.
But the thing is I can't access recovery. I try to flash it again with the all in 1 tool and it won't work. It says it went through, but accessing it doesn't work.
If its recognised by USB when plugged in computer just run an ruu that's my solution all The time lol
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Ok i somehow managed to get TWR on my phone, but still unable to mount the SD. How do I run the RUU? I downloaded it, but the instructions are flawed I think
Connect with USB to.computer go into faatboot USB then run ruu on pc
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Well I thought the RUU was going to work, but it just stops at the HTC and gives me an error saying I can't. What now?
Ok currently, I relocked my bootloader in an attempt to do the RUU, but I get a 155 Unknown Error up doing such, using the TMOUS 1.53 ruu... other places I have seen say something about returning to the stock img etc, but I'm quite stuck. Any advice appreciated
htc one s stuck in bootloop almost unresponsive
hey guys, got a brain teaser for you.
i have a tmobile htc one s, unlocked, rooted using all in one htc tool, been at it for two days now. im stuck on the boot screen showing its unlocked, i used to be able to get into the boot loader screen but now it seems ive dead ended. ill hold any combination of power and vol up/down, the keys flash for 10 sec and the screen flashes once, i let go and it reboots, keeps that htc screen, after 20-30 sec goes black. my pc doings like it detects a device but i cant locate it. ive used adb and the htc all in one unlock tool trying to get any kind of os to launch.
Shortly before this i was able to go into the boot loader, clear and master reset the files and cache, and search for the rom zip, thus never allowing me to flash. on a journey to place this in the phone through various combinations of the all in one, adb push, and everything else i found on youtube, countless forum posts, i seem to be in a deeper hole now.
I ultimately want to end with a cm10 nightly on my tmo htc one s. I have never done this to a phone without a sd card. i come to this community humbly seeking any and all advice. thank you.

RUU Error 171 Stuck on waiting for boot loader

As the title says, RUU attempts booting my phone but it never comes back on. Even selecting restart boot loader in fastboot or a command it doesn't power itself back on. I have read through other forums and nothing has worked for me yet.
EDIT: I should probably clarify fastboot usb WORKS. Ruu must see my phone considering it detects the ROM version and turns the phone off in attempt to reboot. Anything that I do that requires a reboot doesn't work. I have tried unlocking the bootloader again, everything is fine until it comes to rebooting then I must turn the phone on myself and nothing changes...... IT DOESN'T REBOOT ITSELF therefore seemingly nothing wants to work. And the HTC boot screen is gone??

Yes I did through fast boot with the oem lock command. I've tried installing RUU with a Windows 7 laptop (has HTC sync software) and Windows 8 desktop (basic drivers). Both failed, tried using Windows XP/Vista in compatibility modes and running as an admin with the same results.
Error 171 is a connection error, meaning the RUU can't connect to/find your phone.
Try uninstalling HTC Sync, rebooting your pc, and installing it again. If you've got the Android SDK installed, be sure it's also fully updated.

No luck. And I believe it does see the phone in the beginning of the installation. It makes it reboot to the boot loader and that's where it loses the connection. The phone just isn't booting itself back up. I appreciate the reply, if you have anymore ideas please let me know.
Could be something got corrupted. Try redownloading the ruu. Does adb see the phone?

Re-downloaded RUU and still no go. And adb doesn't see my phone, will it on the fastboot menu? I'm not to familiar with it.
Does anybody else have some more ideas?

No. If adb doesn't see it, fastboot won't either. Does the command "adb devices" (no quotes) show the device as connected?
It sounds like the connection might be working for a few things (like rebooting the phone, as you mentioned). But I still think a connection issue is the main problem.

Fastboot does see it but adb does not. And what I mean by rebooting the phone in my last post is RUU attempts rebooting it from the boot loader which does turn the phone off but it stays turned off. I've used other commands to reboot the phone from the fastboot screen and those too turn off the phone then again it doesn't come back on like a reboot should do.
I have about completely gave up and going back to using a regular feature phone. I have watched a video about a jtag repair service and was wondering about that or just selling the phone as bricked on ebay.

Well if it's not bricked then I sure wish somebody would lead me to the right direction. I have tried 5 different PCs (which all show as connected through fastboot) and they all came with the same error. I've tried everything I could possibly think of and I haven't seen anyone else with quite the same problem I'm having.
I still have not completely gave up and have already decided against selling it as "bricked". The bootloader still comes up so there is at least some hope.
i just had the same problem. the solution was simple - i switch usb-port from front one to the backside one which is directly on motherboard.

when you say it shows connected through fastboot what do you mean?
how are you getting the device into fastboot - through recovery??
oh, and what was on your device before you tried loading the RUU?

Yes this + if you're on a usb3 port try usb2. Also make sure you're using the cable that came with the phone as I understand other cables may cause issues like this. Also, avoid using a hub or usb extension.
Solution to error 171
I had the same problem and after many attempts I finally got it to work!
-Uninstall anything HTC related from your computer such as HTC Sync Manager and Drivers. Also delete any HTC folders from your program files.
-Make sure you leave the sdk and adb stuff that you downloaded.
-Connect your device via USB to your computer and let it recognize it. It will automatically install default drivers.
-A pop-up asking to install HTC Sync will appear, just ignore it.
-Make sure you set Fast Boot OFF on your phone, and Debugging ON.
-Leave your phone ON and run the RUU set up.
-Then follow the steps on the wizard and everything should work just fine!

I have a similar problem with my HTC One. I am stuck in the bootloader and any action I take leads straight into a boot loop. If I try to reboot, reboot-bootloader, go into recovery (twrp), or factory reset it goes into a boot loop. Also I can't lock the bootloader and flashing my recovery doesn't help, even though it says its a success. I've tried three computers and deleted and reinstalled drivers but still the computers only find my phone in fastboot usb and can't find it using adb.
This solution above won't help me since I can't get my phone on for the life of me. I tried running RUU and All-in-One Toolkit but no luck. RUU fails finding the bootloader since my phone gets stuck in its boot loop. I am fresh out of ideas so any other ways to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
BTW I found my phone is this condition when I pulled it out of my pocket. I never installed custom ROMs on it. It is unlocked and rooted though running 4.2.2 (3.05.651.6) hoot 1.55. The only thing I can think of is that an OTA update got pushed to my phone and bricked it. That or for some strange reason something went wrong with phone from the rooting process after two weeks of it working perfectly.

Nobody here can help you as we don't have any experience with your device. You'd be much better off asking in the HTC One forum which you'll find here:

Can't get past bootloader unlock

Hi everyone,
I am trying to help a buddy out and getting his phone working. The phone is not rooted in any way shape or form.
Here are my issues
The phone will not boot into the stock rom. I can get it into the bootloader. Which I went to htcdev. To unlock the bootloader. Followed the steps and was able to get the phone screen to show unlock bootloader. But when I hit yes it reboots and stays on the white htc screen. Then it will keep rebooting. When I go back into bootloader. It still shows the bootloader as being locked? Any suggestions. I haven't flashed anything in about 3 years. But only Samsung things.
This is my set up
Your best bet is to try latest RUU: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-sv-boost/news/
I tryed that as well. Thinking it is kinda like Odin for samsungs. But as soon as it try to reboot into bootloader. It stays on the white htc screen
The RUU was running completely through and it still not booting?
I will take a picture of the screen. It does not go all the way through. Also I tryed the Ota. Zip. And changed it to PL80IMG and placed it in my SD card. It looked as if it went through and it told me to reboot. But still nothing.
This is what's happening.
Forget the OTA. It won't solve anything for you.
I also think, your bootloader must be locked to run the RUU.
And i think it is your only chance to get the phone back running, because there is no stock rom or backup for boost (as far as i know).
I am OK with rooting it. But in order for me to do it I have to get the bootloader to unlock which I can't seem to do. It does all the motions to unlock. Until the phone reboots
What i have found in this few minutes, Error 171 should be a driver issue.
So, you should make sure that the correct drivers are running (HTC Sync). Maybe another PC could be also a good try.
And you can't root a phone which is not booting into OS. You need a OS.
Is there different drivers I could try besides tc sync. I have tried both computers that I have one has windows 8. The other has windows vista.both have htc sync on them. Also tried a different cable.
If I type in cmd fast boot devices it shows my device being connected. The error shows up while it is waiting for the boot loader to reconnect
Latest should be this.
I will give it a try thank you for helping me. I'm banging my head against the wall for 2 days trying to figure out why nothing is working on this.
Its really kinda strange, that bootloader should belocked again after reboot.
But your focus must be the RUU.

Yea, my main goal is to get it to boot up. I was hoping it was an easy fix. Like with the Samsung epic I had. Just slap it in with odin and boom. after I couldn't get the RUU to work I figured I would try to root it. but since I can't even get the bootloader to unlock. I am stuck and that's the biggest reason I posted. normally I wouldn't I try to read other post and/or youtube it to find someone with a similar problem.
Quick question. When I go into the RUU can/should be in fastboot?
Yes, you should be in fastboot (USB) mode.
Ok so I downloaded the drivers you recommend. It was different then the ones I had. I also downloaded the RUU from the htc site as well just in case. Will try when I get back home. Thanks again.
So here is what I have. I downloaded driver v4.11.0.001. And installed. Downloaded ruu k2_cl_jb_45_s_sprint_wwe_boost_3.05.653.4......
I went into cmd and type fastboot devices. My device showed up. Ran the ruu. Samething happened. The ruu stops because when the phone reboots. It doesn't reboot to the bootloader.
Also I tried in cmd to get the phone to reboot to bootloader with no luck. Is there any thing else I can try?

[Q] S-off HTC One M7 with boot issue

Just as a quick intro, hello everyone. I'm new to the forum, but I've been reading from this site for a couple years now. Now that that's out of the way...to the real question.
So, my DNA committed suicide the other day and I received an HTC One M7 from a friend of mine who switched to apple. Yeah...he's stupid. But it's my gain. ANYHOW! It's a sprint HTC One m7 with the 1.57 hboot. I've come across an issue with trying to break this system open. Unlock went great along with TWRP recovery flash and superSU. No issues with any of that. HOWEVER! Somewhere down the line I believe my baseband and IMEI has been lost internally. I only come to this conclusion through research and finding a somewhat similar situation.
Currently, this is what's happening. I can enter bootloader and recovery just fine. The phone boots up just fine. But, once the phone is booted and I unlock the screen, all I get is a white screen with an HTC logo. Touch works, vibration works, it registers everything I do including the pull down (just to display header. it never actually pulls down), usb debugging icon, sounds, screenshot, PC recognizes device and everything. But it stays like this for about a minute or two and then restarts. It does this over and over.
I've been trying to s-off using rumrunner just to see if by chance it'd have success, but the phone won't recognize ADB. It will recognize fastboot commands perfectly, but not ADB. And yes...I use ADB commands in recovery I've tried every driver I could think of and every version of recovery and adb.exe I could find compatible. Because the computer won't recognize the phone in ADB, I can't get anywhere in rumrunner and because I can't access the main screen after unlocking the screen, I can't even use sunshine.
I'm at a total loss and I don't have any money for another phone. I really need some advice to get this fixed so I can flash a baseband and/or RUU and get this thing working with ViperONE. Please halp!
- Charles
You need to flash a stock ruu with fastboot and the imei will restore .
To see if the imei is still in the partition but the software doesn´t recognize it go in fastboot mode and type fastboot getvar all and the imei should be there.

pls help me with my htc one s bricke problem

so i decided to root my unlocked htc one s, i've tried lots of one click root apps like kingoroot and others but none of them worked. so i decided to use framaroot. so framaroot didnt work too and i got really pissed off, and i accidentally pressed a button which was saying this: execute script/sd card/custom and my phone restarted. i thought it would boot normally and i would use phone normally but i saw that lockscreen ring was gone. now i cant unlock my phone but it works inside really well. i mean facebook notifications and missed calls are appearing on upper screen part (forgot how its called the place where clock battery icon and others are displayed, also forgot to mention that i locked my bootloader before trying framaroot because i thought something bad would happen to my device) when i first tried to root my htc one s it always got stuck on entering recovery screen, but i could normally use my phone. no most of the times my phone wont even turn on, i mean when i trie to it manually goes to bootloader screen, i hardly manage to boot my phone normally but still without lockscreen ring. also when i try to connect it my pc i get windows error. i tried updating drivers and it didnt work. also my phone is 2yrs old so i cant retutn it to htc with warranty, also screen is little broken but can still use normally. pls anyone help me if you can :crying::crying::crying::crying:
I am not HTC expert, but at this point you should could try to get S-OFF, HBOOT 2.16 and upgrade firmware (link in my other thread in this section) in order to flash latest roms and get a clean install
