[Q] Question: Possible to update HTC One firmware without S-OFF? - General Questions and Answers

I swear I've read somewhere once that it is possible, though more tedious... but after hours of searching, I can no longer find the post I read that said I could do it and how to. I'm very new to Android, and 'somewhat' technical, but am nervous about going S-OFF and not entirely even sure my phone can be S-OFF, after finding countless posts saying I can't do S-OFF on the newer HTC One because of my version of HBOOT something something.
I'm preparing for Android Revolution HD v52.1 when it's released, which will have T-Mobile WiFi Calling implemented and am loving using a Custom ROM. If there's a way to update to the latest Firmware, that would be wonderful.
I have a Mac, but can switch to Windows if necessary using Parallels or BootCamp. Thank you in advance for any help provided.
T-Mobile HTC One 32GB purchased in December, 2013.
Phone: M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
Status: Rooted, Unlocked, TWRP v2.6.3.3
HBOOT: v1.55.0000
Kernel: 3.4.10-gfa33c1e
Radio: 4A.21.3263.03_10.38m.1157.04L
Current ROM: Android Revolution HD v31.6

I got some help in the Android Revolution HD IRC Chat room and found out that a newer tool, Firewater, is capable of putting HTC Ones into S-OFF and quite easily, so for anyone that needs the help, it worked on my HTC One with the newer HBOOT, etc... Here's the link: firewater-soff.com

[Q] Downgrade to Jbb to ICS

Hi friends,
i have a litte question i have HTC ONE AT&T and i live in costa rica, my htc don´t work correctly, no conection shared and no wifi and i have software version: 3.18.502.6 710RD official de at&t
it is possible to downgrade to version ics?????
Only if your phone is s-off you can check that in you bootloader
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
no it's not possible.
Connection sharing is blocked on AT&T Software as per AT&T. As for Wifi, not sure why that wouldn't be working... most likely not related to software anyway so downgrading wouldn't fix it... You can try rerunning the 3.18 RUU, if the wifi not working is a software issue, that will fix it. If it's a hardware issue, it won't work no matter what software version you use.
*edit* jerry is right, I just assumed you were completely Stock.
thank you for you respond
information for the htc one x at&t is:
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL

OpenDSP-v34-1.0.45.1219

thant if possible root my htc one x for installing custom rom????
or not possible?
unfortunately not by traditional means.
Only via JTAG service. Typically costs about $50USD
*edit* I also feel like I should add that if you have to ask if 2.14 is rootable, you shouldn't bother rooting your phone.
then you can not do anything with my phone
know if at some point to have root access oy and I stayed with this system?

Not known at this point. I'm sure it's being worked on but AT&T locked 3.18 down hard.
ok thank you i waiting for this solution
and you recommend that I upgrade when you leave the five sense do or better leave well?

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying but if you're asking if you should update if one comes out. Don't update unless you want to stay stock. Whenever an update comes out you have to wait for that update to become rootable if an exploit is found. Stock updates are a rooter's worst nightmare.

[Q] Where to start?

Hi, I recently bought a used Sensation XE in nice condition.
For the last 18 months I've had a Desire which I rooted and ran a custom ROM.
Obviously I'd like to root my sensation although I'm not planning to run anything too extreme.
I've seen several guides suggesting using Clockwork Mod, 4EXT recovery or various root kits.
Has anyone seen an easy guide which would help me not mess up?
There seem to be several options available and I'm not sure which is best for my phone and versions.
My phone appears to be unbranded and is running:
Android Version 4.0.3
Sense 3.6
Software # 3.33.401.153
Baseband version
11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M
The white boot screen says:

PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.29.0000

Thanks !!
Check this awesome thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27556870
It has everything you will need or want to know. For starters, I would either HTC dev unlock the bootloader, or s-off your phone. Then I would install the 4ext custom recovery. After that, you can flash any ROM you want. My favorite is albinoman's 4.2.2 jellybean, but viper s jellybean ROM with sense is pretty popular. All the awesome ROMs are in the development section.
Here's hasoon's all in one kit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22534852
Good luck and happy flashing!

[Q] Need verification...lots

GOod night. My main issue is the sheer number of ppl with the HTC OneXL in this forum. Lot of posts i see say 'sent from my HTC OneXL'..i read something on this very site telling me that when downloading ROMs or anything really for a device, make sure you get the correct files. This forum contains info on the AT&t and ROgers HTC OneX annddd the Telstra OneXL..the only real ROMs i am interested in would be the latest KitKat update from AT&T, CyanogenMod11 and MIUI. Ive got the necessary info on my device here. Ive already unlocked my bootloader, rooted, SuperCID. Root fully working with TWRP recovery. Still on the stock ROM. Im from the Virgin Islands, and with my HTC devices in the past as well as the Galaxy S4s, CyanogenMod ROMS always seemed to provide slightly worse WiFi performance in terms of distance. Also was a fan of CM from the Inspire4G due to its Torch app with its dual LEDs, utterly unchallenged on high-brightness, lol. Anyways, here are the specs on my current HTC OneX from AT&T:
Android vers. 4.0.4
Sense 4.0
Software # 2.20.502.7 710RD
SDK Level 4.23
Kernel - 3.0.8- 015 58-g7f75e5b
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Baseband: 0.19as.32.09.11_2_10.105.32.25L
Build Number: 2.20.502.7 CL79936
My Bootloader Info:
EVITA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-11111111
HBOOT - 1.14.0002
RADIO - 0.19as.32.09 11_2
OpenDSP - v29.1.0.45 0622
My questions basically are:
is there a CM11 ROM for the AT&T OneX?
yet possible to download the latest OTA for KitKat for the AT&T OneX?
Does my phone NEED to be updated to the 3.18RUU for either the official KitKAt from AT&T, MIUI or CM11 ROMS to function?
Thanks so much.
The att HTC one x and the HTC one XL are the exact same phones. Everything you find here will work on your phone

And yes, you have to run the 3.18 ruu, unlock your bootloader, achieve s-off, install a custom recovery, and install the Roms that you want.

my bootloader is already unlocked, s-off with TWRP installed. does this mean i can just run the RUU?

All the answers to your questions are in that link I posted.
Yes you will have a stock recovery after the RUU. You will need to flash TWRP or CWM recovery in fastboot mode (bootloader mode) after running the RUU.
You will need to enter your recovery after you flash it and flash SuperSU (or equivalent) to root the Rom.
Your phone will remain unlocked, SuperCID, and S-Off after running the RUU.
As for the toolkit, you can do these things without it. A tool kit at this point is a crutch. You a far enough along now that you should understand how these things work. (OK. off soapbox now.)
Read through the link I posted. I detailed all the info you need to be successful. Good luck.
Agreed. Forget the toolbox, it's a crutch and is totally unnecessary. If you need instruction on flashing a recovery, installing a ROM, among other things, have a look at my How-To Guide For Beginners thread in my signature. You should also read the Evita FAQ thread in my signature.

Last Updated by Lalit on Sep 26, 2013
LTE
Down:17.08 Mbps
Up: 8.63 Mbps

Any of the radios in the radio thread are okay to flash on the EVITA. The Google map may be a good start, but only trial and error will tell you for sure which one is the best for you.
Any ROM but the stock AT&T ROM will let you turn off LTE in Settings. This is what I would recommend. What radio you use has no bearing on turning off LTE, if that is what you are asking.

[Q] reguarding S-off and super cid

if i have supercid and s-off on my htc one sv, would that make my htc one a htc one s or htc one v or nothing changes and i stay a htc one sv?
as far a supercid, i know boost has cmda so what other changes could i make and stick with boost mobile? the zte warped and samsung galaxy s3 both are cmda both availiable from (the boost mobile site) would these be possibilities ?
the main reason im interested in supercid is boost mobile dropped the ball on kitkat update for this device and gave us android 4.2.2 and sense 5.0 i, frankly, want the kitkat 4.4 update without purchasing a new device. i know i could go the "themer way" from google play store, but its not the same and "themer" seems to mess up my voice mail significantly.
thanks in advance for answering if possible

I don't think, there will ever be a kk version for this phone.

Saving my HTC One S

Hallo,
after some failing experiments with other ROMs like CM,
I'd like to get any Android on my HTC One S now. There are no backups, because I don't need any way back to my old system.
Some information for you:

Anyway the only claim is that my phone is useable again.
Thanks in advance
You might want to take a look at this post since its information apply to your situation, as well. The only differences to your situation are that T-Mobile Germany uses the CID T-MOB101 and the SKU 111, that we already know that your phone is S-ON and that we know that you own a Ville (the VilleC2 never had HBOOT version 2.15.0000).

Sadly that didn't work ...
I downloaded both "111" RUUs and got Error 115
Did you check your firmware version and that the one of the RUU is equal or higher (as mentioned in the post I linked)?
If the RUU don't have the same version or a higher one than your phone your only hope is Llabtoofer.
