If you having hard time to find a custom ROM for your Oppo Find Muse (R821), I have found some custom ROM for this phone.
* I’M NOT A DEVELOPER. I ONLY SHARE THE WORK OF OTHER GUYS FROM INDONESIA. THEY DID AN AMAZING WORK BY PORTING ROM FROM MANY OTHER BRANDS TO OPPO FIND MUSE. ALL CREDITS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR :good::good::good:
* I ASSUME THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW THE RISK OF DOING THIS AND I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE OF YOUR PHONE.
* Please note that all original posting was made inside of a Closed Facebook Group, please make sure you join the group to see the original post. And it use an un-official Bahasa Indonesia as the group everyday language, so I think Google translate won’t help much.
* If you don’t have CWM recovery please flash this CWM using Mobile Uncle.

* If you found that ROM on this list don’t have GAPPS, please flash this ZIP trough CWM.

* If you can't download apps from Google Play Store, please empty the Proxy number on APN (Access Point Names) Setting.
*If you get IMEI lost after flashing a ROM, please flash this ZIP trough CWM (in most case it works).

THIS GUIDE IS A COMMON METHOD OF FLASHING CUSTOM ROM USING CWM RECOVERY (detailed explanation can be found on google)
1. Make sure your device have ROOT access (if you don’t have root then try app called FRAMAROOT, just google it)
2. Download attached CWM recovery for Oppo R821
3. Install downloaded CWM recovery using Mobile Uncle (download from play store, and google it about how to install CWM recovery using Mobile Uncle)
4. Download ROM you want to install
5. Boot into recovery mode (POWER OFF your phone, then press VOLUME DOWN + POWER together for a few seconds and it will boot into recovery mode)
6. Make a BACKUP from your current ROM in case something wrong happen (google it about how to make a NANDROID BACKUP USING CWM), it will require around 1.5GB depending on your installed apps
7. Inside CWM mode, wipe system, dalvik, cache, ….everything (just google it about how to do it). THIS PROCESS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR INSTALLED APPS, PHONE CONTACT, SMS, PASSWORDS, etc but will not erase data on your SD-CARD.
8. Back to CWM main menu, and choose INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD (or something similar to it), and wait until the process finished
9. After installation finished, then reboot your phone from CWM by using REBOOT SYSTEM NOW on main menu
10. First time boot will need longer time than usual (around 1-3 minutes)
11. Enjoy your installed custom ROM

Do you have root access? you can remove them from system app, or you can simply freeze them.

Of course, my phone has rooted, and CWM too.
But i delete "them" comlete by titanium, then i clear davik cache, and its come back

I also have that issue, but it's not bothering me. I think there is no meaning on clearing dalvik cache many times if we do not flash anything to system.
I quite satisfied with the Color OS for Muse, even without front cam.
Great Job! I waited a long time for someone who provides custom ROM´s.
It would be also a good idea to post the original ROM´s here.
I figured out, that in ColorOS None of the cameras are working.
Since I installed a Vietnamese ROM on my Find Muse I´ve lost my IMEI´s. None of the Tools, that I found on the web could solve the Problem, even when my phone was rooted.
Any idea, to solve this issue??

Do you have make a imei backup before flashing this ROM? Imei file can be found at root directory/Data/NVRAM, if you have it you can restore it. I flashed custom rom many times but never face imei lost.
If you have rear camera not working then flash this zip, it should fix your rear camera.

Someone from FB group suggest me to flash the original stock ROM first to get the IMEI back, it can be found on official page of OPPO find muse on Vietnam website http://www.oppomobile.vn/ho-tro/download.html#r821
After finish flashing original stock rom, then try to flash custom ROM carefully.
please update us the progress.

I downloaded the suggested ROM and tried to install it.
I got the message "assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "R821" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "R821"
I deleted get prop("ro.product.device") == "R821" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "R821" in updater-script and was able to install the ROM on my device.
The result was the same. I have no IMEI. (I had a SIM in my phone.).
I try same procedure now with the chinese ROM.

I downloaded the original chinese ROM and made the same modifications like before, and..............
Here we go, the original IMEI is back. Obviously I needed to have the chinese ROM, because I bought the phone in China.
Should I share the modified original ROM´s here??

That's great. now that you have your imei back, maybe you can try to re-flash the custom ROM.
Personally i flash many custom ROM many times but never have imei lost such on your case. just for your information, that many custom ROM is coming from INDIA or CHINA based ROM, so i think that imei lost is not related to region.

I tried to flash the Vietnamese ROM and also the Color OS ROM. The result was everytime the same. I lost the IMEI. So I´m back on the chinese ROM, cleaned it from chinese apps.
Which ROM´s are chinese based? I want to try one of These.

try LEWA OS.
please backup your IMEI while you still have it, then try restoring it on other ROM.

What i did was cook it with Android Kitchen, add Root & Busybox & thats it, clean pre-rooted Factory ROM that can be install with any custom recoveries to any N9776...
Pls make sure you have the correct 4-in-1 Combo Chip before installing...
Having said that, pls pls make a nandroid backup first before installing it as it replace the boot.img & system partition... :fingers-crossed: If you don't like it then you can any time roll it back via nandroid restore...
Please also make sure you have 100% the same device or you will end up like them here ! ( That is including me... No worries, TP has been identified here )
Its very unique for Ulefone Star N9776 that comes with a plastic perspex holder for the device... It also has the Ulefone label at the bottom of this holder...

GPS fix via EPO

Steps
1. Settings -> Location Services -> Turn off GPS, EPO, A-GPS.
2. Use any Root Explorer & delete /data/misc/mtkgps.dat
3. Reboot your phone.
4. Go out into the open
5. Enabled in GPS, A-GPS, EPO -> Download ( if you don't use 3G data, you can use Wi-Fi too )
6. Dial * # * # 3646633 # * # * will bring you to the MTK engineering menu , select YGPS. Go to Information tab & click Full, and then Cold, then A-GPS restart. Go back to the Satellite tab and wait for the signal to be recorded (this may take a few minutes & up to ten minutes on the first setup).
6. Exit & start any GPS software & you will get 23870ms or less GPS fix

it turns out that there are emergence of cheaper version of N9776 & i thought to myself how the price dropped so fast & it turns out that it is indeed the cheaper version MT6575...
MT6575 is Pin-to-pin compatible with MT6577 so some clever manufacturer instead of upgrading, they are downgrading N9776... :laugh:
So pls make sure & don't just flash blindly, this JB ROM update is only for MT6577...

However, i didn't do a 100% test on it as i switch back to my own ported Lewa OS, love the Lewa ui better than JB...
AFAIK, there are 2 version of hardware for N9776, ov5647 that uses MT6620 & 9p017 uses 6628, which hardware do you have
As said, this update is directly cook without adding any sauce or spice & i believe it works better on 6628 since its from 6628 ROM...

Thank you for answer. It's true, ROM is stable and fast but that damn wifi. My friend bought this phone in January 2013 so it should be with newer hardware. Hardware version number can be found in Engineering menu right? I'll check it.
Do you know anything about kernel source codes for MTK6577? I can't find any. :crying:

Only Alcatel publish their MT65xx source code (ICS not JB) but i'm afraid it might not be compatible for use on our N9776... :fingers-crossed:
AFAIK, OT_997D_20121228.tar.xz is one of the MT6577, rest you have to google for it...

Tried porting JB ROM to my Lenovo A789 since last year, non booted up so you guys can forget about it... Sorry if it sound disappointing... :laugh:
Even latest LeWa_ROM_AMOI_N820_JB doesn't boot on N9776 JB boot.img but it does show logcat activities & died...

Hi, you need to recalibrate the light sensor, under settings, display, als_ps calibration. place your finger over the sensor at the top to the right of the speaker and hit calibrate. hope this helps.
On a different note, does anyone know how to repartition the nand so as to ditch the internal SD? The old ways don't work....

No, it feels a lot smoother to me. camera is definately better. battery life a lot better also. no more problems with ram than i had on ics. However, dont like the fact that you have two signal bars, whereas in ics if sim2 was missing it would hide the second signal meter. it was an arse to root and i cant seem to repartition it!

This Rom isn't rooted? How did you root it? I root any mtk6577 ics or jelly bean phone with root by binary or zhuodashi.
ICS hid the second signal meter if no sim was inserted on the N9776.
Binary ect doesn't work, you have to cook cwm recovery and flash that way. there is a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923764

Quick Guide for Installing Custom ROMs
1 - Unlock your phone's bootloader
2 - Install custom recovery in Fastboot
3 - Put ROM's zip file in SD card and install it with custom recovery
4 - In android L , MM , N ROMs , you must install Modem Fix for Calls work correctly, you can download it from Modems Section
5 - You can root your phone by installing SuperSu . you can download it from Root Section, However Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat based custom ROMs have built in root, that can be activated from Developer options.
6 - Boot your phone with new ROM , download Gapps (Pico or Nano recommended), go to recovery mode again and install Gapps with TWRP.
Unlocking Y550 Bootloader
Register in EMUI.com (it is in Chinese, so use Google Translate) and get your Unlock Code, Once you have your code :
1 - Switch device off
2 - Boot into Fastboot Mode "volume down and power"
3 - Connect by usb to your PC, wait for drivers to install (just install the huawei app to get the drivers)
4 - Download and install ADB toolkit from google (or Android SDK Slim)
5 - Open the directory ADB toolkit is in, shift and right click and select open command window
6 - Type in ...

IVE BRICKED MY PHONE !
1 - Download the Full Huawei Y550 ROM
2 - Download the Huawei update extractor
3 - Run update extractor and extract the ROM
4 - Copy the entire folder "dload" to the root of your SD card (so there is a folder on your SDcard called dload containing the update files)
5 - If your Device can go into Fastboot Mode then, Download and install Stock Recovery, If NOT then skip to next step.
6 - Hold down all physical buttons on your phone : volume up, volume down and power at once.

how did i compiled cm-12.1 and cm-13.0 for y550 and y635 if there is no device tree?

Hi!
First of all I wanna say sorry for the form of this publication post, I write from phone and I haven't got a lot of time.
I made a new ROM based on stockrom.
I named it battery edition because you can receive calls with it for more than 100 hours (if you follow my instructions bellow)
New modifications:
I changed system font (I think many times better than stock), fixed sdcard write restrictions, removed all the bloat apps and edited whitelist_appops+ added a modded kernel adiutor and app permission manager.
Instructions:
go to kernel adiutor, set GPU and cpu gov to powersave,set min CPU to 533, than go to battery options and disable everything except c3. In appops deny everything for googleplay services and for Google play store except notifications, deny wake up and keep awake for all the third party apps (use your brain for it, soma apps need this permission to notify you about things)than enable ultra power saving mode. That's it.
It's just a suggestion, not for everyday use, only for the case if you want to keep your phone able to receive calls for a long time or you have only a few percent in your battery.
THIS ROM HAVE THE LOWEST BATTERY DRAINING WITHOUT THIS SETUP TOO, YOU CAN TRY ANY OF THESE MODIFICATIONS FOR EVERYDAY USE TOO.

Look at vendors for example... Camera libs are missing and maybe others too!

Anything new on hardbrick ? I've tried Dload method it didn't world , my pc recognizes phone as Qualcomm HS-USB QLoader 9008 , phone doesn't turn on , if anyone knows anything on how should I unbrick it please reply :/

Very good work Saint_13 and thank you. For all intents and purposes, we now have a thread index and it is this one. (Dimspace's inability to relinquish ownership of this thread starts getting annoying.)
I disagree with placing all 4.4.-based ROMs which are not made by Huawei itself in a common section, thus bagging together (1) modified stock ROMs based on Huawei and (2) modified custom ROMs based on CM-11, Carbon, PAC, etc. It seems more reasonable to keep them apart. The difference in installation size, look & feel, and performance is huge.

Did you really succeed in lowering min CPU to 533 MHz? I tried and tried several tools (I recall also Kernel Adiutor, though not the modded version), and each time I set it to either 400 or 533, the system IMMEDIATELY reset it back to 800.

You were right, minimal CPU frequence it is down to 533 MHz (from 800 MHz). I don't believe it....

I'm looking for a VERY STABLE firmware for my Y550.
I thought that latest CM11 would be stable but I find it VERY LOUSY (come on... had to fix SD write permissions manually on a 2016 firmware) and I am having strange reboots...
I've seen there are CM12 and CM13. firmwares... CM13 seems very unstable... what about CM12 firmwares? Are these 64 bit versions of Android? (I know CM11 is 32 bit)
I won't care staying at CM11 as long as it is stable, but I looks like the CM11 builders don't care much about stability... this CM11 firmware I am using was clearly modified from a G650 CM11 release.

Unfortunately the most stable rom is stock Rom. You can set sd card as the main storage, good battery and good performance.
I'm waiting for CM13 future builds.

Can't able to flash philz recovery through flashify. Also when trying to install ROM status 7 error appears. I am using CWM Recovery

Maybe your CWM are too old! Use "SP Flash Tool" to install PhilzRecovery.
Still can't able to flash philz recovery with sp flash tool.
My device is qmobile i12 running cm12.1 ROM.
Problem with Wifi
I just tried to watch a movie with the Amazon Video App but every 10 mins or so the wifi just disconnects and the connection is the best possible.
I don't know why, it's a relative fresh installation of this ROM.

Ok, your phone are'nt Wiko Getaway... but Qmobile i12 is the same... Don't know why you can't install philz recovery posted in #2.
You are using CM12.1 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/port-cyanogenmod-12-1-wiko-getaway-t3242011 ? Try use philz recovery available from there (CWM Recovery or PhilZ Touch Recovery from Casper Via V5)!

Do you have a wifi drop every 10 minuts? That's it? This happens only with Amazon Video or happens the same with YouTube?
Dido you backup an recovery NVRAM, from a full functional ROM (KK ou CM12.1)?

Yes, it only happens with Amazon Video, in Youtube everything is fine.
And I did backup an recovery NVRAM using "MTK Nvram Tool (Backup & Restore)" from a full functional ROM (CM12.1).
Removing the Wifi (and logging back in) or setting a static IP does not help.
After flashing philz recovery from Casper via5 I successfully flashed the ROM. Everything working fine. Thanks a lot jasousa for your help and for your port.

When I take panorama from "cardboard camera" or make videos from another camera app the image appears to show pixels. It also happens when I take live photo from "mx camera".
When I connect my device to PC as media device the computer shows "Device is Connected" but it does not show any USB device in "My Computer". I searched on Google about it and it shows that it is a common problem in Marshmallow.

How would one get a fix for the camera problem? Per example, on the cm 12.1 port you did, what was the science behind the camera fix? Wouldn't it be similar to how it's been dont before?
Sorry if it's a dumb question, I just started messing with ROM's, will probably start studying the code behind them some time soon tho, it seems pretty interesting.

Hi !
I generated a scatter file using mtkdroidtools and used it to flash the recovery using Smart Phone Flash Tool but I got the error "pmt changed for the rom it must be downloaded". I read too fast a forum that told me to use the auto-format feature from Smart Phone Flash Tool and now I have a nice paperweight. Smart Phone Flash Tool can still connect to the phone, is there a way to unbrick it ?
I found the original rom but it's a big exe. If someone can send me a copy of their phone rom and a scatter file that would be super nice.
I downloaded and ran the latest update from the wiko website and the phone came back to life ! I now have to copy the wifi mac and 2 IMEI written on the cellphone box back to the phone
(I'm not deleting this post in case someone make the same mistake as me)
