Hi! is the korean Nexus S(SHW-M200) the same with other variants? are all the roms for the nexus S compatible with it? and lastly, what is the difference between the korean version and the US/europe version? TIA!!!
i am planning to buy a nexus S, and i saw one selling a korean nexus S for a very low price. But korean phones usually has different compatibility for ROMS and has less text input.
i use cm7 nightly 244 on korean nexus s(shw-m200). i've not recognize any problem with compatibility for two months..
but i live in korea. so i cant tell you what happen exactly when you buy it.
i think when it comes to radio i won't have any problems since our countries has the same frequency. have you tried other roms? how did you root it? thank you so much sir

Hi guys
I'm planning to buy SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3 from US probably (I'm from Europe) and I don't know the difference between NOTE 3 N9005 and
SM-N9005 and which one is better or the are the same? I think that SM-N9005 is from VERIZON network in USA.What is the difference and will it work in Europe?
Thanks
juno106
I ask myself the same question.
I do not claim to give a complete answer, but as far as my research (15 mintes) tells me, these are Samsung-intern designations that give information on the exact hardware specifications.
In case of the note 3, they mainly differ in supported data transfer standards, such as g2, g3, lte (these are German terms, no idea if they're globally applicable, the general idea should be clear nonetheless).
The weaker octacore chip can (or will or should) only be used with devices that support only standards g3 or lower.
hope this helps and hope i'm not completely wrong here.
btw, sm-n9005 has the stronger quadcore chip so you'd be safe buying that one.

Thank you for your reply.I searched internet as well, and I agree with you,but I just found out that VERIZON's NOTE 3 model has other numbers. It is : SM-N900V – U.S. Verizon Galaxy Note 3 !!! What does SM-900V now means?
Maybe they misinformed me that it is SM-N9005.
check out the us Samsung shopping site. googling note 3 sprint should get you there as well.
There you can compare full specs for all carriers

SM stands for Samsung Mobile. That's all. N9005 is the short name, SM-N9005 is the full product name.

Yes I read that SM-N900V is VERIZON's model od Note 3,but also read somewhere that they have LOCKED BOOTLOADER.And after reading Verizon's NOTE 3 forum I found out that VERIZON still don't have KIT KAT update for their NOTE 3 (which is not the case with other mobile cariers in USA).So this makes VERIZON not that good idea.
Does anyone have any experience with it,and what problems will I have if the bootloader is locked for N-900V Note 3?

That just means that development for a variant with locked bootloader is going to be slower than unlocked variants. I'm not American but if I can give any advice it's this: don't go for carrier-locked variants ever if you can avoid it. Carrier contracts are more expensive in the long run than a one-off payment and their lust for control causes slower updates (if any) and more difficult development. Don't support those companies, just don't.

Being in Europe you should definitely go with the SM-N9005 . It's the most popular LTE radio model, and the most xda developed. Not really sure why you'd want to go with the Verizon Model.
P_
I'm considering NOTE 3 from USA,because I have someone over there ,who can get it for me cheaper then in Europe. That is why.But after reading all of the stuff (not that good) about VERIZON's version,I better not do it.But we will see,it depends on the price.

Just buy the International version which is SM-N9005. If it is from a carrier especially in US, the bootloader is locked. It might not work for your country since you are in France but you can unlock it. If you are concern for the update, you can update manually by using Odin. It is easier to wait for the stock firmware download to be finished that wait for the OTA to come

Hey guys, I bought a titanium silver note 5 and it came from india. I'm using it on tmobile right now and love it, but I don't have access to all the apps on the app store, including samsung pay. I wish to purchase the tmobile version on it, but I can't find the rom. Is there any way of putting the tmobile rom on it or just getting a fix to it. Thanks in advanced.
N920G
Does the LTE on the indian note 5 work? All the bands and frequencies. Is there anything that doesnt work apart from Samsung Pay because I wanted a silver note 5 to use on T Mobile but wasnt sure about the compatibility.
F916N (South korea), Canada and several other regions have gotten 3.1.1 3 days ago. Still there is no 3.1.1 on US variants.I see that F916N is also SD865. Can we flash that on F916U/U1?

No. Different model number, Different model. Just because they have the same processor doesn't mean they are identical. Be patient, it will come to the US.
F916W is candian model. with slightly different LTE bands and that too got update.

So W models are the only exception to the rule. I didn't know if they still made W models honestly.
So U, U1, and W models are all cross compatible with software as they are 100% identical hardware-wise.
If you have some time, go check out some of the old Note or S series threads. Like starting with S8 and Note 8. There's a TON of good information about cross flashing devices, what works, what doesn't, what will brick your device and set your house on fire, etc...OK no fires, but Def bricks.
Some minor things have changed over the last few years, but it's all still good info about compatibility.
I flashed W without any issues. Works perfect
I uploaded 3.1.1 Odin files for the U model back on the 1st
