I really dont understand how google has yet to fix this problem. There are fixes for dev editions but has anyone gotten it to work on 4.4.2 using ART? This is the only thing preventing me from switch to ART full time :<

+1 me too! WhatsApp works under 4.4.2
here is the full clone of Whatsap, called Telegram: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.telegram.messenger working fine with my 4.4.2

Yes that's his point. He wants to run ART which is still experimental and not supported by Google yet, but still wants to complain that apps don't work using it. Pretty absurd if you ask me.

I'm on my high horse as you call it because It works fine for me so your ART is most likely the issue. Did you uninstall it after you switched to Dalvik then reinstall? Clear the app data and cache?
My point is the whining about something being Google's fault when the app works just fine if you don't switch to an unsupported engine. The OS nor the app are the issue. I use it daily.

1 first of all... Isnt googles fault cause whatsapp since 4.4 was released whatsapp told they don't gonna have support for art in that version untill 4.4.1 .... Why??? Don't know, complain with whatsapp. But maybe cause 4.4 gonna be a "trandition version" like HC 3.0 was a couple of years ago. How do i know that??? Cause im work with the moto team.
2 dude.... What Is the point to have a developer edition if youre still on 4.4 when outside are plenty of 4.4.2 Roms??? Boy, just update!

What's app was never installed so I can't reset the app. Also the reason why I'm blaming Google is because from what everyone is saying this issue can only be fixed by an update from Google since it has to do with the lib.

If you attempted to re-install WhatsApp in ART, your /data/data/ directory may have a latent com.whatsapp folder left behind from the failed install that will prevent you from installing WhatsApp again. Android does not have any UI exposed to resolve this issue. Currently the only known way to remove this file is to either delete the file (only possible if your phone is rooted), or to reset your device to factory defaults.

Thanks for making this haha, I don't have enough posts to comment in Dev forums and have been wanting to ask/comment about issues so far, thankfull most of them have been asked by others by now.
But, if anyone happens to know, is there an issue with ART and Gmail, I tried the working gapps, and most things seemed to work, but a few apps, including gmail were non-functional.

You're right!
I wonder how much time it'll take for it to leave alpha state! I'm not asking for ETA, just wondering.
And the ROM is really good. I mean I took photos, made phone calls, did some texting with Hangout, configured and tested almost every essential apps I use on regular basis and I did not encounter a single major issue.
Did not test Bluetooth and tethering. LTE not working but I'm pretty sure someone will fix it!
Missing some customization options which will come when it will be more "mature" and every builders will begin adding their touch!
Thanks to everyone making this possible!! \m/ :good:

Google have blocked access to it in 4.4 so the built-in app is no longer available.
Coming from CM10.2 I was hoping to at least be able to use this with my N5, but alas it's not so .

I believe they blocked the APIs used by the permissions editor which is why it crashes - but I'm struggling to find the reference I read that had this info.......
afaik they removed it completely. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47098228&postcount=2
One of the best features ever introduced to android and they remove it. Might even downgrade my N7 because of this.

I downgraded my N4 back to 4.3. Disabling app ops is terrible. Even apple has this feature: iOS alerts you if any app wants to access your contacts, or your photos, or your camera, and you have a choice to allow or not. Android 4.3 does not alert you, but at least you have the option to dig into the App Ops and revoke access to certain things. 4.4 is the first time an android upgrade dissapointed me (they destroyed the alarm app, the keyboard, the wifi indicator's activity/internet access, and App Ops).
App ops was never an official feature, so they technically didn't remove anything.

I'm with you on the users defending Google like the can do no wrong, but definitely disagree about the YouTube g+ integration... They needed to clean YouTube up, and now I can see friend's comments on videos more easily and only view the comments and responses of certain people... That was a good idea..
I think Google is completely wrong by blocking this app ops function, if that's what happened here...

Ok, any idea how to sort the list of apps in app ops?
I'm trying to upload pictures on facebook but am running into an issue saying "facebook upload failed". It doesnt give any indication of what the issue is, however uploading through the website from chrome works fine. Attached are screenshots of the issue. The issue happens instantaneously as soon as i hit "post"
I've tried uploading from the gallery by hitting "share" and also from the photos app as well as straight from the facebook app. I am running on ART, and while I haven't tested it on dalvik, my friend with a nexus 4 on 4.4 kitkat on ART is uploading facebook photos just fine on the latest version of the facebook app.
Before anyone suggests it, I've tried:
-reinstalling the facebook app
-clearing data/cache from the facebook app
-re-adding my account
-tried uploading pictures from camera, pictures downloaded from the internet, and screenshots
-restoring the whole system (tried it before and after unlocking bootloader which wiped out everything)
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
I am having the EXACT same issue on my Moto X, stock, running 4.4 on ART. It's maddening.
I've done everything you've done and more. I've tried the beta and the alpha apks and nothing. This is driving me nuts, but I'm glad I'm not alone. Will be subscribing to this thread and will update if I find a fix.

so looks like VZW has left out or over looked (not like they didnt take their time on this update) to include the required MmsService.apk
Without this some, if not a lot of third party SMS apps will not send MMS, Google's hangout and Google's messenger app for example.
By installing this, flash it, extract it, or just install the APK. (if you dont have root this is the only way) This WILL fix the issue

Now HTC has to update phone and message app for heads up notifications!! [emoji84]
Has anyone tried it yet? Been using it as my daily driver and it's pretty amazing. This isn't a joke for anyone who like myself thought we'd never have cyanogenmod on our note 5s. Just wondering if anyone has tried it what are your thoughts

I thought there would've been more excitement over this lol. I never thought we'd have cyanogenmod on our note 5s. I've been having a blast messing around with it.

Yeah, we still need to install Gapps. I use opengaps. It's running great so far for an alpha including call audio. Of course make a nand backup just in case . Make you sure you read through the thread carefully.

Oh I use textura. So I'm not sure. I'd report it in the thread so Rayman can see it. The battery life isn't the best either. But for an alpha it's pretty impressive.

can fix with sms messaging (aosp) from play store
Also the video isnt working on the phone, recording video on camera or snapchat. It records on the camera but then it freezes when you play it back. and on snapchat is just says recording failed.
Camera quality does not seem very good. The only thing that may make me switch back to a Samsung based ROM.
Anyone else notice a camera quality difference?
Yeah, it seems the same for me. I'm tempted to dual boot though. I do like this rom for the most part.

Thanks for the heads up, been waiting for this.
4G LTE is currently non functional it cuts on for a spit second and cuts off unusable unless on WiFi or awful 3g but glad to see the devs working hard keep it up hope to have this as my daily driver
