[Q] Need Help - Stuck at Hboot

Hi Guys, need your help on this.
I was using Fall Out Custom Rom. and then I want to restore back to my stock with S-ON of course. but after I run RUU, I've got bootloader version error, and right now just stuck in HBOOT/Fastboot. I cannot access ADB. I'm trying to find latest RUU, but there is no version higher than mine.

Use Gold Card - Not working
I manage using gold card and flash ruu 2.10 but still not working cause my main version is > 3. Anybody can help? please....

some ideas you can try

You forgot to downgrade misc_version before restoring to stock.
Now, you have one of 2 options:
1) If your HBOOT is modified - you can fastboot flash recovery, connect by ADB, execute misc_version script in recovery (that step saves you ROM installation) to downgrade main version, and then execute RUU again.
2) If your HBOOT is stock and you can't do anything - you'll have to unlock it the HTC way, after unlock - execute all the above (including relocking the bootloader after main version is downgraded).

Finally it solved, I manage to found firmware with main version bigger than mine, flash it, unlock via htc dev, install recovery, change version, and return to stock successfully.

i'm stuck on htc screen laptop wont identify usb would it be possible to get some idea of how you solved this problem please i would love to know cuz i'm in the same situation my gold card wont work i keep getting error main version is older or something like that please please any help would be very helpful my details below and i also have unlocked bootloader i also cant go into recovery it jus keeps booting to bootloader or the htc screen

Since your hboot already using 2+, you can do following steps:
1. unlock your bootloader using htc dev
2. after unlocked, install recovery
3. go to recovery you've previous installed then connect usb and change misc version via adb
4. relock again the bootloader
5. then you can install the RUU

i have already unlocked my bootloader but every time i try to change my misc version my usb can't be recognized and i cant install any recovery to my device for some reason it keeps saying image fail or it flashes the image then i try to enter recovery mode then it just boots up to the htc logo and don't go into recovery

Link does not work
EDIT - Manager to open the thread by right click (Copy link address) and paste into google, The link is for the Chinese OTA, Can you confirm that this works OK and is all in English

It doesn't. At least in my case.
I had to add my cid to make it loadable but that's about it:
Loading .. [PG88IMG.zip]
Checking .. [PG88IMG.zip]
Then it returns to Fastboot menu again with nothing changed!

Hi Ahmed,
What is the version of your hboot? is it already 2.00+? if it is you can just unlock via htc dev to flash the recovery. No need to flash the firmware

IMO is that you dont need to flash the firmware, since you already said that you've already unlock the bootloader. I did flash the firmware because i want to unlock my bootloader.
I download this recovery image www.4ext.net/ddl/saga/recovery.zip, I flash this image in fastboot and the recovery installed successfully, maybe you can try it also.
after that you can install tacoroot for temporary root and misc version your device image version, then you can install ruu afterward.

My problem is complex. Hboot is 0.98.0002 so i can't use HTCDev to unlock. At the same time adb is not working so i can't s-off. RUUs of 2.x or 1.x do not work either as latest image was 3.x .
I think i need to upgrade Hboot (somehow) to enable HTCdev Unlock then downgrade and s-off. That may require RUU > 3.x ... and it must be RUU not OTA or update package.

My case was the same as yours thats why i flash the firmware so i can unlock my bootloader. But you are not able to flash from chinese ota i gave you earlier?

At first i wasn't able to. Then i edited android-info.txt inside firmware.zip to fake it to support middle east. But it just load and check without asking for apply!

Emergency, need proper RUU for One S Ville/s4

hey guys my first thread, and ill be begging for help -_-
so i rooted my htc one s ville s4( model pj40110) and after that i tried flashing a custom rom, and i soft bricked it
now it only boots up to hboot, i tried installing custom recovery and installing other roms as it was rooted, but nothing worked
well i know how to revert it to stock, but i for got to get the S-On to S-Off and now i can't find the specific ruu for my device
looked for a week, now i resort to help
please kindly help me through this, its an emergency

First of all, remove serial number and imei.
There's no Jelly Bean RUU for Rogers instead you can download OTA.

- There's option at the bottom of your first post to Edit it. Your serial/IMEI can be used for dangerous purposes.
- Refer to This Post to find the correct OTA.zip.
- To install the OTA.zip, there are a few steps to be done. What was the last ROM you installed? Did you update to JellyBean via OTA?

The last rom i had was 4.1.1 stock, and currently i have no rom installed, where the entire problem started
can i flash an OTA on a phone which has no rom?
plus i have downloaded this
OTA_Ville_U_JB_45_S_Rogers_WWE_3.16.631.8_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301897nn5lu23br8cg9q7l.zip
but i don't know how to install a zip to a phone with no rom -_-
and there are many rogers ota/ruu available
which one is for my phone?

Sorry for my weird typos. I was half asleep while I was typing that. I realized it now.
That's the correct OTA you download. It is in the form of a zip file correct?
You can flash that OTA with the help of the method stated in my signature
..

well followed your tut through fully
and now after step 14, my phone wont boot, not at all
my phone had no OS installed, the recovery was stock
and i flashed the firmware.zip, now the phone wont even boot, and it my pc detects it as an alcatel device :|
i have no idea whats happening

no light blinks or anything?
Did you flash the firmware twice? at first it usually gives error.

But this method has worked for many people. Two of them reported yesterday.
at 10th step I had already given that you shouldn't flash firmware if you had already updated to jellybean.
But I seriously am think what could have could have caused the brick as the OTA matches with your firmware.
Did you do SuperCID?
Try VolDown+Power Button to go into bootloader.

yes done it twice
thing is
after it said done in command prompt, the green progressbar wouldn't leave, i mean it was stuck at the green progress bar
the thing is, i waited for a while for it to finish, a lil bit was left at the end in the progressbar, but it said done in command prompt
so after a lot of waiting, i just hard reset it, but after that the phone is not booting into bootloader and not responding at all
what is happening?

i had jellybean 4.1.1 before but after rooting i tried installing a custom rom, but that failed and it left me with no OS on the phone at the end of it
hence i wanted to go back to stock
and no i didn't do superCID, dont even know what that is

Bro I can't find anything that you did incorrectly. I don't know what the problem is. But I think that incomplete firmware update bricked it.

[Q] Newbie stuck , would love some help guys

Sorry to trouble you but ive read and read and tried and tried various options but no luck. I was up till two this morning and have been on this all day when I was supposed to be out with the wife. Shes not a happy bunny.
Got an HTC ONE S here on Vodafone, I can get into Bootloader and custom recovery twrp-2.7.1.0a-ville.img
but I cant load any image nothing, The phone wont boot and keeps restarting in a boot loop. I've tried various options and nothing.
I have reflashed stock recovery and tried to put a vodafone ruu on but I keep getting an error

I thin I have to flash stock recovery
Then relock Bootloader through fastboot
Then run RUU while phone is in fastboot USB
Is this correct and can anyone point me to the correct RUU

Try getting the ICS RUU instead of straight up JB then from there update to JB. Worth a try, hope this helps!

Thanks for replying to my question Pal.
I've managed to figure out how to unlock, root, get SuperCid, relock, get another unlock token and then eventually get S_ OFF,, which wouldn't work until I relocked then unlocked again with a new bin file.
Once I had done all this I re flashed a new twrp recovery, then flashed a new rom from recovery, then gapps.. Still cant the find a vodafone stock rom I was on but as I now have S Off I guess that doesnt matter and I can flash the european latest rom if i want to.

Im still on 1.15 radio and I think I will try to flash that next with the 1.20 or higher version to see if it helps with my phone signal which is not very good

[Q] unable to flash ruu via .exe or fastboot

ive been trying to resolve this for two days in an attempt to avoid having to post this thread
sooo here we go-
the phone is k2plc_cl. in a haste/ not caring/ thinking i could maybe get the data working fashion, i flashed viper to my oneSV.
unable to get any signal, i tried relocking my bootloader, and flashing the latest ruu.exe- it sat on sending everytime
so i unlocked my bootloader and tried flashing via fastboot.
recovery and boot flash, radio gives me the remote not allowed like the bootloaders locked.
im not 100% sure on what to do right now actually...
i have the OTA_K2PLC_CL_JB_45_S_Cricket_US_2.04.1050.2-1.03.1050.7_release_321361523g7wih6zk058h5.zip
this needs flashed through stock recovery or fastboot?
fastboot gives me data too long, so i think recovery

Remove your imei & serial, not needed in public.
You need to downgrade hboot first, if you wanna flash the Ruu.
As you are S-off, i would give the last firmware.zip a try. Maybe this solves the issue.

Download the OTA, inside you'll find a firmware.zip. Extract it from the OTA file and rename it to PL80IMG.zip.
Copy to external sdcard, boot into bootloader, wait for scanning the files and confirm to flash with vol+ button. Wait until its finished, can take some minutes.
Reboot and see if your problem is gone.
Some sidenotes: Make a backup before in recovery. And after flashing the firmware you will have stock recovery, so in case you will need TWRP, flash it with fastboot.

flashing the pl80img brought the phone back on, but its still on the viper rom.
so, im going to downgrade hboot, and try to flash the ruu.

update- i got it back to normal! thanks
i downgraded by renaming the firmware zip to pl80img, put it on my sdcard, and let the bootloader take it from there.
then i installed cwm and flashed the zip that you made from the cricket backup.

ok this phone is confusing me sooo freaking bad
so i see that you need to make sure your bootloader is equal(?) or lower than that of which your updating to..
im at 4.1.2, hboot 1.01.000, and software version 2.04.1050.3 trying to update to 2.04.1050.5
and it fails with an 'error in zip file'
i have stock recovery, unrooted, unlocked and s-off.
ive read i do not need to relock to update right?
im trying to just update to 4.2.2 right on the phone but im def at a road block haha

Yes after finally getting the ruu to work! I had to relock, flash newest firmware zip from your list, unlock, download and flash ota then ruu worked. in between I was trying to just flash the ota zip and recovery would abort no matter what

Tried to convert to GPE, stuck in Fastboot

A couple of weeks ago I got a new HTC One M8 Verizon from amazon. I bought it cause I wanted to covert it to GPE. After looking for some tutorials I decided to try the one described in this youtube video:
" How To: Convert HTC One M8 to Google Play Edition (5.0.1 Lollipop) with OTA Updates! " from MaowDroid - Since I'm a new user I can't post links, so I posted the video full name so you can look for it.
Later on I discovered I missed the " GSM Device (Not Sprint or Verizon) " legend in the video description. Very stupid of me! Anyway, everything went smooth until I flashed the image, then after restarting the device nothing happened and all I can do is to turn off the phone. If I choose HBOOT -> Recovery, the phone restarts. Same thing happens if I choose HBOOT -> Factory Reset.
Besides this video was not for my verizon device... I'm almost sure my second mistake was not to update the firmware before doing the whole process.. changing CID, ModelID and flashing the GPE image. I've been looking how to fix this but since I can't boot the OS I haven't been able to change the ModelID or CID, so whenever I've tried to flash a different image I get an error that says something about incorrect values, which from what I've learned in this process, its because those images are for different ModelID and CID values.
After that I asked for help in Android Forums ( http ://androidforums.com/threads/htc-one-m8-tried-to-convert-to-gpe-stuck-in-fastboot.931142/ ), where EarlyMon is being really nice and tried to help me resolve this issue. However it seems my problem is more difficult, so he suggested me to ask here so that we get more opinions to avoid making a fatal mistake. In summary, EarlyMon asked me to
1. flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img
2. Mount and Install ViperOneM8 4.3.0
Which I tried but at the end I get a Status 7 Error

You can boot to hboot correct? First change CID back to Verizon, you can do this in hboot (bootloader)
fastboot devices (your device should be listed)
fastboot oem writecid VZW__001 (2 underscores)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then try flashing the Verizon RUU

First I changed the CID as instructed.
Then I renamed and copied the zip file to the SD as suggested in the ROM instructions.
Rebooted and choosed HBOOT, the ROM is detected but, after a few minutes I get a " Update Fail! " error.
