Memopad HD7 OTG (no power) - General Questions and Answers

Hi... i have my tablet for some time already, but i tryed to connect with OTG and i depared that i cant... So i have readed many topics and have seen to many things. some says that hardware is not compatible others says that is kernel.
I decided to download the kernel and search something about otg (i'm not a PRO) and i figured out this:

(replace **** with http cause i cant post due to dont have 10 post )
As i understand the driver is called when port power is enabled, it means that need's power.
My question is what if we disable that conditional jump of power port is connected and compile kernel, it must work?
I hope this topic reachs something cause many people wants this functionality
PS: I will search a bit more and post here if i see anything special
Thanks

I think this is where the problem is... if someone with more experience can help all memopad hd7 users we will be really grateful.

[p552] bootloader

Hi everybody.
I've been lurking / posting in this forum for nearly two weeks now, and i've learned a lot of things here.
So first, i'd to thanx everybody who spend time turning one's knowledge into common knowledge.
Here, i'm not talking about asus p552w but the restricted version distributed by orange in europe (and maybe in others places too).
To sum up the situation, p552 is like a p552w but wifi is not available and quite the whole part of asus glide UI has been ripped off this device (actually, only ezPhoto and ezMusic are still available).
This was just to introduce the device to you.
I'm here to ask a question about asus p552 bootloader.
Actually, i'm trying (hard) to activate wifi. Someone in another french forum try to do so by flashing the original rom with a rom update designed for p552w, but the wifi is still unavailable. (and the gps module doesn't seem to activate after the rom upgrade)
I have seen, this thread and began to think that the GSM provider have certainly use a trick like this to desactivate the wifi.
What do you think?
Is it possible?
If so, can you give me some advice to connect to bootloader and try out some command. I succeed accessing the bootloader mode with p565 button sequence (volume up + nav down + camera down while soft reseting) but i can't connect to the device using putty (yes, i've disabled usb connection in activesync).
So, if someone can help me, i'll really appreciate.
lezioul
ps : btw, sorry for my froggy english
up!
anyone?

wep issues on new FUZE

Hi to all, I'm new to this forum and to Smartphone devices and I just got an HTC Fuze this week and I still cant get the Wifi to work trough a wep encripted router, I already tried with 3 diffrerent routers and still get an odd "incorrect key" message everytime I try (Im sure the key is correct because I connect my laptop there) and I already discarded a hardware issue (but you are the expert) because I disabled one of these routers wep encription and leaved it unprotected, therefore I could get a connection.
I already searched for an upgrade or something inside the Htc site and windows update and nothing..
Can anyone of you guys help me out? maybe point me in the right direction? or at least give me some advice?
I searched the threads in this forum and didnt find any problem like mine ,so I started this one.
Thanks in advance
Edit:
Question-- If the problem its software related, could it be possible to be fixed by flashing it with a custom ROM ?
If the answer is yes, what Rom its recomended for a smarthphone newbie (a noobproof ROM lets say), because my phone is very importanto to my work..
IdeAS? suggestions?
2nd Edit:
Plz someone at least tell me if my problem can be solved by installing a custom rom =S... or say you dont know I feel ignorated =(

[Q] WiFi Hotspot on Windows Phone 7

I know this have been asked many times before but is there any chances we can get a Wifi Hotspot app for WP7?
Is it even possible with the actual version? Maybe we will have to wait until Mango?
I know you guys hate this kind of question but i'm on this forum for more then 1 year i've never created a topic. Always searched and found what i wanted to know...
Even if the app is not free i really don't care cause it's essential for me...
Thanks in advance
Atomos
Sorry for my english
I'm dreaming for one too...
currently only USB tethering is possible, not even sure if all devices are supported
mango should make it possible... but not offical
It mean i'll have to wait until october...
Well i am shure i saw somewhere a Dev who said that it was actually possible with the actual tools to create such app...
Thanks for the reply by the way
I got a frustrating behavior from my phone. I created a WiFi hotspot on my Laptop on Windows 7. The hotspot enabled other phones to connect to internet via my wired connection on laptop. The frustrating part is ONLY WINDOWS PHONE 7 DEVICES were not able to detect the hotspot !!!!!
With the developer beta out, is there any new information regarding wifi hotspot capabilities for WP7?

I have the HTC Arrive and I can tell you that thus far usb tethering does not work.
The devices that do work do not have a qwerty keyboard so it may be only a line or 2 of code needs to be added to the xap to make it function like it does for everyone else, or it may be something else. The device appears to dial out though so I believe this problem is definitely fixable with some help.
DVFN the creator of df router also said the code for wireless tethering is in the original diagnostic app, unfortunately because some people erased the app and can now no longer connect to zune they started to complain. Because of this I haven't even gotten a response from df and he probably left the community

[Q] Gigaset SL910 hacking - any projects known?

Hello Guys,
I'm not sure if this forum is the right place...
I have an Gigaset SL910 Telephone. It is nice hardware, with touch-screen, usb, bluetooth and more, but the original firmware is less "nice" .
I see the oringinal firmware is linux-based because over USB the telephone say:
Code:
iManufacturer 1 Linux 2.6.35.13-gc-V01.032 with fsl-usb2-udc
iProduct 2 Gigaset Generic CDCACM Device
Does any one know any project to hacking the Gigaset LS910? I didn't found anything. It will be nice to see anything openembedded based on this device! I don't have a problem to compile anything, but I need the "door" to the hardware.
This would interest me too.
Any first steps done by somebody? Infos on the boot loader?
Thanx
marxx
Hey there,
my father is interested in buying the SL910A and now i read here that bell is unhappy with the firmware..
why is that?
I, too, would then be interested in if there is the chance of modifying / changing it.
Hope somebody finds something!
Thanks in advance
Is there any news on this Projekt?
Still periodically looking here hoping to find something.
Now I have a new problem. Someone played with phone or maybe battery was dead for too long. After resurrecting (dead for 8 months), I'm missing a few icons, many functions in menus, answering machine (though it works at base, and announcement is in some other language) and a few other things.
Tried many methods of resetting. What seems to work is taking out the battery and while pressing both call and call end buttons (until phone is at home screen), insert battery. But this does a "normal" reset: i.e. all my settings get reset and phone numbers, etc. disappear, but I can't seem to get my menu and other functions back.
The method in SL930's manual of accessing service menu by dialling 147236598 on imaginary numbers in settings page (imagine the icons in the grid to be numbers and long press on each until you feel phone viberate) also doesn't work. Or rather it almost works, but as I'm long pressing the final 8, I briefly see the number pad (for dialling codes) but it goes away before the phone vibrates.
There are many copper pads behind the battery, but too many to test, and I'd not like to try hard resetting without being certain. No response yet from Gigaset support people.
While not looking for a ROM, some customisation and details of hidden codes would be nice to know, and to be able to tinker with the OS via computer for fun

How did you find this information (over USB connected to which programme?).

It was just Linux "lsusb -v" output.
I lost the interest to hack the device since my ex wife claimed it.

[Q] Permissive?

Sorry I'm very to new all this stuff. I barely managed to root my Note Pro 12.2 a month or 2 ago, even then I did manage lose all my data.
But anyways, I recently got an OTG cable to plug my Xbox One controller into my Note Pro, and it seems to work fine when I pair it up with JoystickCenter (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.poke64738.usbjoygolddemo&hl=en)
However some apps don't support controllers, but JoystickCenter has a Touch Emulation feature. When I try to enable it I get an error Can't access dev/uinput
I looked into this and found some info on it - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/pokes-android-apps/sME_vV9pPcE/K-eTQFY_TpMJ
Which led me to this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53343683
I tried everything there, but I still believe SELinux is in Enforce mode :\
So I was wondering about the third fix listed, about installing a custom kernal.
I do see this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772908
I would be willing to attempt (It does say Knoxless, so I would assume it would fix my issue I'm having?) however I have no idea how to flash ROMs.
I looked up some guides about recovery mode and bootloaders, but I still have no idea what I'm doing.
I have seen some recent posts about not enough development for the NP 12.2, but I did find this http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/224
Maybe some people who know what they are talking about could set me straight on all this, and if it's possible for me to get around my issue?
Thanks in advance
The ROM you link to contains the stock kernel & won't get you any further forward. http://graemehill.ca/turning-a-galaxy-note-pro-into-a-linux-laptop/ seems to be the most promising source of advice I've found so far. If you have the same device as the author you can use the kernel he compiled. Unfortunately I don't think I do & am wary of trying to set up my own build environment being fairly comprehensively clueless, so I'm hoping someone with at least some experience will pick this up.
Do post back here if you find a solution. I'm after a permissive kernel for the same reason you describe.
