CHT Lockscreen delay - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi there!
I have a little problem with my HD2. I activated the CHT Lockscreen and customized it.
When the devices wakes up, it shows the hometab for 1-2 seconds and then the lockscreen comes up.
Is there a fix for this, besides other lockscreen apps?
Thanks in advance,
Mr nUUb

Can have quite a few bugs with CHT lockscreen & pending on exact rom, tweaks & apps you have & ranges from mild glitch to hard reset.
Best not using it & reverting to the inbuilt WM lock or reviewing all others if that not meeting your needs.

Good manual for Windows Mobile??

Hi there,
sorry, one more question: I am still searching for a manual that lists and explains ALL windows mobile settings on my HTC S710.
The HTC manual itself is just good for a start but not comprehensive enough to cover all options.
Can anybody help?
Many thanks
Andi
the HTC manual that comes with the phone is the only manual for this device. You can download the pdf version of it from the HTC website.
and if there is anything you are confused about just ask in the forum here and you'll get the reply very quick...
Hi,
many thanks for the quick answer. I think the HTC manual is not very good as there are many options just missed out to be described.
But here you go, I am firing off some questions on settings now (hope I can translate them as good as possible, have a german OS
Sounds Settings
- Reminder - When is this sound fired?
- New instant message - when this?
- New channel message - what is a channel message?
Profile details
- Alarm volume - which kind of alarm, only the clock alarm?
- Notification volume - for which notification is this?
Home screen
- what is the timeout setting for?
Unlock screen clock
- what is this and where can I find this?
ActiveSync
- is there any way I can set a kind of "retry"? The exchange server in our company sometimes comes back with an error 403 on first trial, but works fine when trying it a second time. However, automatic update is therefore not possible
General question on WLAN
- If I have a WLAN connection and a GPRS connection, which one will be preferred?
Sorry, so many questions. But would really looking forward on getting some answers to them.
Many many thanks to all upfront.
Bests
Andi
Sounds Settings
- Reminder - fired when you have a appointment or event.
- New instant message - if you use windows live and get a IM
- New channel message - I think most probably msg by network operator (call cost etc)
Profile details
- Alarm volume - which kind of alarm, only the clock alarm - yes
- Notification volume - for which notification is this - reminders etc
Home screen
- what is the timeout setting for? - after that time screen turns black
Unlock screen clock
- what is this and where can I find this - if you enable this and lock the keypad, you will have a clock on the unlock screen. Press and hold the red key to enable keypad lock.
ActiveSync
- is there any way I can set a kind of "retry"? - NO
General question on WLAN
- If I have a WLAN connection and a GPRS connection, which one will be preferred? - WLAN is much faster!
Thanks, just one doubt
Hi Prajith,
many thanks for your answers. Made some things clearer to me now.
Just I have one doubt about the setting:
Home screen
- what is the timeout setting for? - after that time screen turns black
This is set to 10 minutes on my Vox, but my screen turns black after 1 minute already.
So I guess this setting is something different than you meant?
Many thanks
Andi
When you are in a program and do anything it'll go back to homescreen after that time!
thanks frauhottelmann for correcting me.
i guess i was drunk when i wrote tht
Thanks !
Hi,
thanks both of you. Now it makes perfectly sense to me
Have a nice weekend
Andi

Clock on Titlebar in Today Screen

Can someone please tell me if having the "Display the clock on the titlebar in all programs" option checked in the Clock & Alarms settings of Windows Mobile 6.1 will normally display the clock on the titlebar on the Today screen?
I ask because I recently uninstalled Spb Pocket Plus 4.1, and since that time the clock never displays in the titlebar on the Today screen (though it does in every other program). Instead I get the battery indicator. I've tried checking and unchecking the option in the Clock & Alarms settings, as well as have re-installed and uninstalled Spb Pocket Plus several times. I've also attempted to check the registry for any residual Pocket Plus stuff (after uninstall) but haven't been able to come across anything.
When Pocket Plus is installed, the clock displays in all programs (including the today screen), whether or not I have the SpbPP Battery plugin enabled.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm using UltimateLaunch, and thus I don't have a clock on all my Today screen tabs, so it's important to me.
Thanks!
If you have Advanced Config installed, then lauch it, and select on Today > "Show on Title bar:" select Clock (default)
If not installed:
Code:
Restore clock on top bar
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 (enable)
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0 (disable)
from the Hermes wiki but should work for you too
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock didn't exist on my phone (and adding it as a DWORD value didn't seem to help). So I downloaded Advanced Config, and it works beautifully.
Thanks!
Glad I could help you
hi
iv got similar problem , i want clock to show allways
when i activate a program the clock disapears
iv got advanced config and dosent make the clock stay allways
iv got wisbar advanced and this sorts the problem out but it seems a little over the top to have wisbar just to have clock allways showing.

cookie monster and bsb tweak together???

i'm a rookie and i don't know if i'm asking these question right:
i just installed cookie monster w/cht editor (all new version) and after some searching and reading here in the forum, i fell in love with the bsb tweaks offering. but after just about a minute running on my hd2(unlock); correct me if i'm wrong, but i think bsb tweaks and cookie monster installed together complicates more my device specially on "auto lock". anyone have these cab both on their device. i first installed the cookie monster and arranged everything, then after installing bsb, i have to do two times the "unlock". after some checking i found out the "default setting lockscreen" of cht editor was turned "on". i think these two cabs should not be installed together. what do you think, thanks
The .cab's install together is no problem. I would say, that the most users, who have Cookies Home Tab also have BsB-Tweaks running.
It's only a question of settings - Autolock uses "normal" Windows Lock in BsB, and Cookie added Manilalock - and if you change on both... then 2 lockscreens are running at the same time.
If you'd have two switches for your lamp in your living room, you would know, that only one switch should be switched to get light. Both would switch it off...and in case of lockscreen - the lampwould get the double power...and you know what happens to a lamp with to much energy...
So - if you use CHT-Lockscreen - then switch off Autolock in BsB and all is fine
Well, i have Bsb and CHT installed, in CHT go to lockscreen option and turn off Enable default lockscreen and turn on Enable CHT lockscreen.. dont understand why these two aplications should not run together..

That's an excellent explanation!
You have probably turned on (or not turned off) the standard windows lock. If you want to use the CHT lockscreen then disable the standard windows lock. This can be done in BSB tweaks and CHT Editor also has an option to disable it.
Thanks for answer also. I thought BSB Tweaks would conflict with Cookies Home Tab and Editor. No issues. These are great apps!

Weather Sound

How do you tunr the sound off for the homescreen weather?
I have gone into the weather and chosen to dissable sound effect but whenever the weather updates on the homescreen the sound is back!
Any Ideas?
Edit:
Should added this is a vodafone branded device
+1 for answer. annoying me, too.

Took me a while to work that out.
When you are in the live wallpaper selection screen, scroll to the weather wallpaper, hit "preview" and then you will find a "settings" button. Low and behold there is a tickbox to turn the sound off.
Out of interest, do you find that the weather live wallpaper (and in fact all live wallpapers) reduce the framerate of the carousel after a while. It seems fine to start with but then slows things down. I would really like to use the weather wallpaper but low frame rates annoy me - as it makes the phone look slow when I am showing it off.
Thanks for the solution, been annoying me since I got the thing. Now just need to solve the car dock issues
You cold just open weather app, go to settings, untick last option .
Thanks freco, but that does not work. If you have weather background set the only way to get rid of the sound effectst is via the background/preview/ settings.
The easiest way to do it is to remove the clock widget from the homescreen and then add it back. When you add the clock widget back to the homescreen it will give you the option for the weather animation and sound. I would just remove the animation all together. There really is no point to it and its using precious resources.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Has anyone run across an alternative weather sound set for the Sensation?
The "Sunny Day" sound effect is almost as annoying as fingernails on a
chalkboard to me. The rest are ok.
Even if you happen to know the name of the file and it's location would be
helpful (I could try deleting that sound alone and cross fingers that it doesn't
eff up forcing me to reflash).
Thanks.

[Q] Digital Clock that displays seconds

On my old HTC Fuze running Windows 6.5, there was a lockscreen digital clock that showed seconds eg. 5:00:48 PM. There simply has to be an Android *DIGITAL* clock that displays seconds. I just can't find it!
Ideally, I'd like it to be on the lockscreen - but anywhere would be great. (I'm a last minute person when it comes to my commuter train - and need to mind my seconds.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

I've thought of adding this to Chronotopia but it eats battery life big time. Maybe I'll add it at some point.
If you make a search in the market there are some
Alarm Clock Free
Clock Widget digital
Num clock lite
etc etc
Not really for lock screen but there are lock screen replacements where you can add widgets
Thanks for the responses. Because of battery life issues, I think that Alarm Clock Free works the best for me - although I may attempt to configure Clock Widget Digital on my lock screen.
Battery life is already a big concern of mine as I get terrible battery life already...
Quick question. I presume that if something like Alarm Clock Free is not being displayed on the screen that it is not impacting my battery life? Same with Clock Widget Digital if my screen is turned off? Or, do they chew up battery life even if they are simply running in the background?
If they use battery life even when the screen is off, I think I will go with Alarm Clock Free and kill the application after I've used it. (I think there might be some fairly automated ways to do so - and would be open to hearing about the same.)
Thanks again.
Dave
If it's an AppWidget (on your home screen or a widget in a custom lock screen) then it really depends on the implementation. Because of the nature of Android it is most likely that those clocks will update the widget every second, which eats battery. It might be that they have a check implemented to not update the widget in certain circumstances, like when the screen is off. But as far as I know (I haven't come across it yet) there is no (easy) way to detect if the clock is displaying or not. So I always assume that these clocks are updated all the time.
I was thinking of implementing a change on a widget every 15 seconds. So you would see: 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 & 0
I still might do that at some point, but it should always be optional.
