To sum everything up:
1. My rom didn't work so I decided to find a new one :good:
2. I read and understand that it's much easier using fastboot
3. I was flashing the official rom when the antivirus requested a reboot
4. I forgot the flashing, and just clicked on reboot :silly: :crying:
The screen remains black when I try to boot it up :crying:
The only sign of life is when I'm charging the light is lighting and "APX" is showing in the device manager on pc with a yellow triangle, I haven't understand what "APX" stand for yet so please explain
(My bootloader was unlocked and I flashed twrp 2.5.5 just before I did this)
Do you have any tips for me? Or is the device bricked and have to be sent for service?
Please help me :fingers-crossed:
Edit: This is wrong section I know, can anyone move it to the Q&A please?

Apx is a method provided by the cpu manufacture for recovery. Due to the way asus has handled locking the unit apx is only available if nvflash is installed while on ICS (4.0).
Reset may be a good option for you. Power on unit. Hold volume down and insert a small paperclip to into into the reset hole. This may get you into the bootloader.
Reset: A small hole about 25mm or 1inch below the sdcard slot.
Note: If this fails you could do the same but hold volume up and hope.
Beyond this running the battery down has worked for some or remove the back cover and disconnect the battery. Leave it disconnected for thirty minutes, then reconnect.
Also see my signature for other methods to get into the bootloader. Don't bother with apx as it is useless for us.
We are looking for any change in the unit. With a change may come use of adb, fastboot, or recovery.
Try do each thing in turn and repeat this sequence twice more.
Thanks for the explanation and fir the tips! I'm going to try this

It doesn't seem that any of the following work, but I haven't tried the battery pull thing, because I see that it's a sticker over the cover that says that the warrenty is void if removed. If I send it for service will the guys know that I have unlocked it, and then void the warranty?

I understand. If still in warranty I wouldn't remove it either.
I'm sorry that is all I have for your situation.
Lads, let me join your conversation. I've almost same problem, probably different root cause, but same summary:
1. Originally I downloaded JB 4.2 from support.asus.com source
2. Tablet got reflashed & worked as normal, but I lost roots which I had earlier, therefore I decided to get root privs again.
3. So, I went into TWRP web-site & downloaded openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf300tg-JB.blob blob file & via ADB was able to flash TWRP 2.5 onto my TF300T, but...
4. ...somehow TWRP doesn't let me to mount neither system, not SD-card, nothing. And currently
5. I think I'm bricked (& my TF300T too). When I press power button - tablet switches on & gets straight into TWRP, where I've only option to power it down or reboot TWRP tells me "are you sure? No OS installed".
6. When I try to switch tablet into bootload (with volume -) writing "The Device is Unlocked" shortly blinks slightly brighter, kind of trying to get into bootloader, but gets into TWRP anyway.
Any help, please! I know how Donate button works!
P.S. Because I very new writer (but really old reader) of XDA - I can't incert outside links...

Which tablet do you have? You show TF300T but using TF300TG twrp.
The bootloader changed again with 4.2 firmware and requires twrp especially for that version. I have been told the openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf300t-4.2.blob does not work properly so you should have used openrecovery-twrp-2.4.4.0-tf300t-4.2.blob if you have a tf300t.
We need to break the cycle of going into twrp and only twrp.
Let's try to use twrp for that purpose. While in twrp select reboot while holding volume down.
If that fails to make a change while in twrp type adb reboot bootloader.
If that makes no change type fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot-bootloader.
If there is still no change try the reset while holding volume down.
Reset: A small hole about 25mm or 1inch below the sdcard slot. Use a small paperclip to insert into the hole and press gently while holding volume down.
Dear Friend! :good: That what makes difference between you - old member & me - amatuer. Yes, I loaded ...TG version of TWRP onto my ..T tablet. Bad words aren't allowed in XDA forum, otherwise I'd call myself with proper name. Anyway,
I tried to reboot from TWRP, held volume - & had no success. It loaded into TWRP again.
Then tried to reboot with command adb reboot bootloader, as you mentioned - my Windows7 PC doesn't see tablet, showing Transformer with yellow ! sign. And I tried fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot-bootloader command, ADB is saying <waiting for device> forever & nothing happens. so I stopped here so far, waiting for your advise...

First you need to get your drivers loaded for windows.

So, I bricked my tf300t. I ordered a new motherboard off ebay and replaced the bricked one. It works, but it was not factory reset and still has the owners info, etc. It is password protected. I don't know the pw. When I try to boot into the recovery console, I get a dead android. Going into the menu, I have an option to wipe or boot android. How do I get around this?

My suggestion is use stock recovery to replace the encrypted os (probably JB 4.2) with JB 4.1 (10.4.2.20). You can download here [INDEX]25 Apr 2013 - TF300T/TG WITH ALL ASUS ORIGINAL TOOLS-Firmwares-Kernels-Guides-. Look in firmware TF300T. Use the proper sku (ww, us, etc) for your country. Please give philos64 a thanks while there he spent much time creating that post, supporting the downloads, and updating.
Unzip the downloaded file once - rename to EP201_768_SDUPDATE.zip. Place the file on your internal sdcard if possible if not place on your micro sdcard. Boot into the recovery console and make the hungry android happy. This will probably take ten plus minutes.
Dear tobdaryl! Thanks very much for your advice, I had to dissapear for couple of days, so couldn't answer. I followed your link & had no success. Tobdaryl, I couldn't find "Donate Me" button in your profile, so give me your paypal account for a little present please! :good: It worked!!! I installed correct driver from given guide, rebooted into bootloader, using ADB comand & got 3 icons: RCK, Android & Wipe Data. I tried Wipe Data, it said "can't mount something", don't remember now what. I rebooted again & clicked on Android & loaded into normal screen. Because of Asus became completely flat I put it on charge now. And after that I will have to come back to original task - to root my TF300T. While it's charging I downloaded Goo manager & tried to install TWRP, it said "No recoveries were found for your device", but in same time file for my device (that's where I made mistake, downloading TF300TG version) does exist, so what's story here? I guess this is may be because my TF300T isn't rooted yet?
Adding later. after digging this & other forums I found that in order to get root & have to have CWM/TWRP on my device & I can't get them until my TF300T is rooted. Am I confused & talking rubbish?
Adding 2 hours later. I rooted the device using XDA guide. Still trouble to reboot device. It always reboots into TWRP, then I have to connect it to PC & reboot with ADB commands. This isn't right...

Go manager does not have the proper twrp for our tablet.
Rooting is no longer required to flash twrp. Motochopper will root with just adb.
I suggest we try to get everything working properly with stock before changing or adding anything.
Go to to this link and download the stock Asus firmware 10.4.2.20. Choose the proper sku for your location (ww, us or whatever). Don't forget to thank philos64 while there. Unzip once and place on your tablet, flash with twrp, if that fails unzip again and place the blob file in the directory with adb and fastboot and flash with fastboot. Verify everything works properly before making any other changes.
Thank you for the donation offer.
I don't have a method to receive donations. A simple click on thanks will be good.
My problem is that because I installed wrong TWRP by mistake - it can't mount anything & I can't install anything from SD or internal memory. So, should I delete existing TWRP somehow &/or replace it by CWM recovery?

No don't delete twrp or install cwm. We should have access to adb and or fastboot. We should be able to use either to get sorted.
Go to to this link and download the stock Asus firmware 10.4.2.20. Choose the proper sku for your location (ww, us or whatever). Don't forget to thank philos64 while there. adb push blob /sdcard/blob
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
exit
adb reboot
May I ask you then? My ROM number is: JOP40D.WW_epad-10.6.1.15.3-20130416 & as I can see from numbers you are offerring me to downgrade (from 4.2 to 4.1). Will this not kill the device? And why can't we re-install existing ROM through ADB? I'm not arguing, just trying to understand.

I was following Frederuco's Guide to Root and ROM the TF101 at transformerforums
I download the Universal Naked Drivers, updated apx driver, tried both of these easyflashers as described in this excerpt from above tutorial:
Next, we need to get the EasyFlasher from whitekidney at XDA: EasyFlasher - Install CWM/Root/unbrick in one click! [ALL TF101][NVFLASH] - xda-developers

I repacked the files with the two latest versions here:
EasyFlasher with TWRP 2.3.2.3
EasyFlasher with TWRP 2.5.0.0
NOTE - It STILL has the TWRP version listed as 2.2.1.1, but it WILL INSTALL 2.5.0.0. I cannot update this line in the exe file.
Hit sbk1 and got a short line of code with success message after doing easy flash twrp recovery but recovery boot only resulted in the two android wipe data option.
Then I tried the peri tool. - ran as administrator, used dir to confirm files in directory, ran bat- it said press any key to continue. I hit key and nothing happened.
Did you press the VOL UP when the white text is on the screen BEFORE you get to the WIPE and COLD BOOT options?
You will end up at a dead droid (stock recovery) or TWRP when you hit VOL UP at the RCK prompt.

still :crying:not working. Im now noticing since i unplugged tablet from PC, during boot after i let go of vol down/power, im no longer given 5 seconds ro hit volume up. Instead it goes to data wipe screen as soon as i let go of buttons.
If your SBK1 then why not use the old fashioned NV flash method with prime rom and see how that works out for you.

Just take your time, youll get there.
If you get things working then id suggest using the Goo apps open recovery script to install TWRP again and then use TWRP to install any of the most up to date roms just to avoid any issues.
okay followed your link and downloaded nvflash zip and prime 1.4. did the following 3 steps:
1 Connect cable to computer and turn device on while holding down Volume Up. Screen will stay off, but USB will come on.
2 (Windows only) Find “APX” device in Device manager and update driver, then point it at usbpcdriver directory from the zip
3 Run download.sh (linux) or download.bat (windows)
In step 2 - driver wouldn't take I presume since I already updated driver when using frederuco's guide. Shouild I have uninstalled APX and reinstalled this version?
Anyhow, I completed step 3 allot of messages about partioning and now there is message on my tablet:
entering nv flash recovery mode/nv3p server
chip vid ----
What do I do now- apply prime? How please tell? Thanks

Did you put the prime file into the same folder that contains the .bat file?
If I recall correctly, once you click on the bat file while in apx then it should be as simple as that aslong as you have the prime rom file in the containing folder.
its been a while since I used nv, infact I only ever used it when I first rooted. Pity the videos gone, it was really helpful to follow
Did you use one of the repacked EasyFlashers that I had done? If so, try the original. I think something may be wrong with my repacked ones. I will test it out in the morning.

You don't have to downgrade.
After you unlocked your tablet, you can push a custom recovery through ADB or fastboot and use that custom recovery to flash a custom rom.
If you use this method you bypass rooting the stock rom altogether. Every custom rom is rooted already.

Unlocking and rooting are two different things. There is no known root method at this time for the 10.6.1.14.10 firmware. The Unlock Tool should still work.
I don't think it's a question which firmware you have - sometimes it works like a charm and other users cannot unlock at all due to incorrect or incomplete S/N database on Asus servers. At least I have not heard anything that people have trouble unlocking after the last update.
Just download the latest version, v8 I think, install and run it. The worst that can happen is it fails.
Do yourself a huge favor and educate yourself thoroughly before you try to flash custom software to the tablet.
There is little risk in flashing a custom rom IF you do it right. But yesterday night I tried to help someone who did it wrong and hard bricked his tablet. Read 3 times, ask twice, flash once!

For flashing via adb and the staging partition, Android must be rooted. Fastboot works without root.
I did a clean wipe of my tablet and installed 10.6.1.14.10 onto my tablet.
I have unlocked the bootloader, but when booting up I then have the default recovery and rom supplied by Asus with no root.
I tried motochopper and debugfs method, and as described above neither work, the cmd prompt windows just record failures.
Read this forum regarding what is what (fastboot, root, unlocked etc.) and why you do them
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833212
The way I gave root to the stock rom was by loading into fastboot mode and pushing a twrp image to my tablet off CHROMI rom site. I then used that to root the system. To be honest I did not need to root as I could have just then flashed the CHROMI custom rom which comes with SU anyway....
Get fastboot into a folder and also copy the TWRP recovery img inside the fastboot folder
Attach your device to the PC
Start fastboot mode by switching off your tablet then switching on in bootloader by holding down power on and volumn down
Connect tablet to PC (need approperiate drivers)
Open cmd prompt as admininstrator and goto directory with recovery image in the fastboot folder
Type the following commands:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot (though I don't think i typed this if honest, struggling to remember)
Unplug tablet from the PC and reboot into recovery mode
If you got the image of twrp from CHROMI site which includes bootloader also, i think it includes SU, therefore just exit and close recovery and it should ask to install SU. Select yes
Reboot the device
Your device is now rooted, though think you need to run SU in the tablet to get it fully setup.
Sorry this is not 100% perfect, I will recall what I did tonight when at home in front of PC with files.

Hello Berndblb (and everybody else ),
I'm quite a Noob around here as you can see and I've the same problem.
My TF700 has the build : US_epad-10.6.1.14.10 and the Android version : 4.2.1
I followed the instructions from this thread and now my tablet is unlocked.
I want to flash it to run under the last version of Cromi and I've read the instructions :
"- Step 1 - Coming from Stock Asus 10.6.1.x – INSTALLING TWRP 2.5 on 10.6.1.14.4/8"
Okay, so now I need to install TWRP, so I followed the guidelines : to do so, the easiest way is to install goomanager on the playstore.
Okay let's do this, I go to the playstore and I read the first line : This app is for ROOTED USERS ONLY!
Okay, so now before doing anything, I need to root my TF700, so I go back to this thread and I see that the easiest way to do it is by using motochopper but motochopper doesn't seem to work on 10.6.1.14.10.
As you said yourself previously before, I need to downgrade to 0.8 before using motochopper to root my tablet.
Okay let's do this, I search many threads and I've finally used this method :
1/ Download the previous firmware from asus website for my tablet (us version) and unzip it to get another .zip : US_epad-user-10.6.1.14.8.zip
2/ Put it into the root of my internal sd card
3/ Boot with "power + vol down" then after the splash screen put "vol up".
4/ Android start to work to add the downgrade version.... then I get the sick droid !
So, now I'm quite stuck here, I can't downgrade this way... any advices ?

You can try to install from your system, not stock recovery. You need to boot your system normally and look in the lower right corner at your notification. It should notify you that their is an update for you. When you click on it, it will walk you through the update process. You need to make sure that you have only one zip file in your directory which is the Asus firmware that you want to update.
You can also use fastboot to install the TWRP. I don't think you need to root to install a custom recovery by using fastboot if you already unlocked your bootloader. IMO, I think fastboot is easier and faster than motochopper because of rooting process...

Thanks LetMeKnow !
It was the right way to do it (Berndblb advised this also here).
It worked and I've now TWRP installed ! :victory:
But it wasn't so easy, fortunately there's plenty of help around here
I'll write here quickly how I did it, it could help someone, who knows, sharing doesn't hurt, even if I'm sure there's plenty of different methods to do it.
I found some help in this guide because the explanation under "Download - Recovery Image / Fastboot Method:" from the TWRP page is a bit rough for a beginner like me.
First I need to mention that I've Windows XP on my computer.
As you can read here there's 3 different ways to install TWRP on the TF700, the first one is the easiest one, but you need to be root, if you're unrooted like me and you want to skip rooting, let's install TWRP via fastboot.
Requirements :
- Bootloader must be unlocked. Very easy following this thread.
- ADB and Fastboot must be installed on your computer. You can follow this guide, this way you'll install them from the latest version of Android SDK and avoid any trouble.
- You should have the USB driver for your TF700 installed on your computer. I've read multiple times that that the official drivers could create some trouble, and indeed it happened to me. So you can give a try, and if this doesn't work, let's go for the Universal Naked Driver.
- Download the last version of TWRP (the newest .blob file) from here. Rename it to twrp.blob and place it under C:/Android (or C:/Android-adb, depending how you've rename your folder containing adb and fastboot.exe).
Fastboot method :
- Before starting, you want to be sure that your computer recognize well your tablet, otherwise, you'll follow a tutoriel like me, enter the final command, press enter and watch... nothing ! just a prompt command blinking in front of you, because if the script don't find any device, it will just write nothing.
To be sure of that, turn on your TF700, Plug it to your computer via a USB cable, then enable USB debugging (Tap the Build Number 7 times under Settings, About Tablet and it will show up under Dev Settings).
Now, if you're under WinXP like me, it may be possible that the pc doesn't recognize well your tablet, and you'll probably have to play with your device manager (to go into your device manager right-click on My Computer and click Properties, In the System Properties window click the Hardware tab, In the Hardware tab click the Device Manager button then look for your device, click on it, uninstall drivers, then reinstall the naked driver mentioned before for example). You may find some help here or around here in the forum.
Once you think your tablet with USB debugging enabled is well recognized by your computer, try to open a command prompt (First, press Win + R to launch the Run dialog, then enter “cmd” in the dialog box) and type “adb devices” (without quotes). The daemon will start up, and all connected devices will be listed. If your device shows up, let's continue to next step, otherwise, you should continue to play with uninstalling drivers, reboot, installing others drivers...
- Turn off & Unplug your device.
- Enter fastboot mode : Keep pressing the Power button while holding the Volume down button till the screen responds then
1) If you have an old bootloader select USB icon, press Volume up button.
2) If you have the new 4.2.1 boot loader it automatically boot into usb mode, it should be written in the upper left corner something like this :
The Device is UnLocked.
key driver not found...booting os
Android cardhu-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "ww_epad-10.6.1.14-20130329" A03
Starting Fastboot USB download Protocol
I didn't know that and I found some answer here and here.
- Plug the TF700 to your computer via a USB cable. (and make sure no other android devices is connected to the computer)
- Open a command prompt in your computer (First, press Win + R to launch the Run dialog, then enter “cmd” in the dialog box).
Just to be sure (one more time) that your device is well recognized by the computer type “fastboot devices” (without quotes).
You should see at least one line with some numbers written.
Then, change the working directory of the command window to the directory where you had placed the TWRP recovery file (twrp.blob) using the command “cd directorylocation” without quotes (probably, “cd c:\android“).
Then, in the command prompt, enter the command: fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob
After the process finishes, You can unplug and reboot your tablet.
- Normally the TWRP recovery is now installed on your device !
To check that enter recovery mode : Boot with "power + vol down" then after the splash screen put "vol up". You should see that image, cool right ?
I don't take any credit for this quick explanation because I took all the informations from this forum (and from different other websites) and gathered them together for my own case, but I think this may help others.
A big Thanks to all the guys here who take the time to write, explain and help, that's great, keep it up the good work :good:

You can add these command for fastboot to your list instead of using the power button and volume down..
> fastboot reboot-bootloader # Exit fastboot and reboot into bootloader.
> fastboot reboot # Exit fastboot and reboot to your system
Good job.. :good:

I am attempting to install a ROM on my Transformer Infinity as it pretty much sucks these days but am a complete NOOB. Have never attempted this with any of my phones or tablets, but figure I would try since these directions are so detailed. After following most the steps you have listed, I get the error below in the command prompt. Can someone please help, I tried searching XDA and Google to no avail. If possible please be as basic and speak in layman's terms b/c all this technical jargon goes right over my head. Thank you in advance!!!
Step followed:
- Then, change the working directory of the command window to the directory where you had placed the TWRP recovery file (twrp.blob) using the command “cd directorylocation” without quotes (probably, “cd c:\android“).
Then, in the command prompt, enter the command: fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob
After the process finishes, You can unplug and reboot your tablet.

Don't know if you cut and paste the error message or typed it up. But what I notice is that you named the recovery file .blop
It should be .blob
Another step to avoid simple errors: Place the recovery.blob file into the same directory with your fastboot file.
Right click in that directory to open a command prompt and then execute the command
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash reccovery twrp.blob

Actually yes.
Just read in another thread about someone having the same problem as you, getting the incorrect file size error.
Download the TWRP 2.5 blob and try it with that file. I have no idea why, but TWRP 2.6 may cause this error.
At least that bloke got the recovery installed that way. Once you have TWRP, it's easy to upgrade to the latest version.

The blob for TWRP 2.6.3 is bigger than the recovery partition. 2.6.1 should work.

You don't have to downgrade.
After you unlocked your tablet, you can push a custom recovery through ADB or fastboot and use that custom recovery to flash a custom rom.
If you use this method you bypass rooting the stock rom altogether. Every custom rom is rooted already.

Ive had the same question as the OP, i also have a .10 version, i have a US sku, and i downlaoded said associating item but when I went but when i go to either do it with sd, or intewrnal sd, or how ever. through manual or through android, either method both resulted in error when trying to downgrade, i dont know if its because its a downgrade or what.
Ive some linux experience over the years, and have rooted and run custom roms in the past. im trying to achieve the same as the OP, fix my lag, and more options and tweaks.
I have the .zip of the rom i want whitch i found I liked the xcromi rom, so I downloaded it. so, i can put that in and name it what and how do i do the update than through the volume down + pwr combo into that menu? (not sure what its called) but i can't do sideloads because i can't havbe the ultity to sideload without rooting and i can't root with .10, so i have been trying to get past this single step all night and this morning now.
@M1ster1
Thanks for posting this guide. It doesn't do a perfect job however on the TF700t running Android build 10.6.1.14.10. Tried to use the "fix permissions" option in ROM Manager but failed due to insufficient permissions. I installed CWM Superuser and cleaned up the version of SuperSU (prefer Superuser anyhow)... updated the binaries and still no love when trying to correct the permissions, despite all tests showing the device fully rooted.
After a day of pulling my hair out I finally came across vRoot and after even longer found a guide in English. Ran that, again swapped out the Superuser that went with vRoot and again reinstalled Superuser. Used Ti to install as system app. After reboot ROM Manager was finally able to correct permissions and all is golden again.
Hi ,

I feel like I have missed something, hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction

Your "twrp.blob" apparently doesn't contain a recovery - it should be around 6 to 8 MB.
Hey all,
I have a big problem with my TF700.
I wanted to root my device after unlocking the bootloader through the app, but by being dumb I managed to delete the OS in TWRP (thought it was factory reset) and now I'm in big trouble.
The only thing the tablet loads now is the TWRP 2.2.1 recovery. (TWRP came with a root-package, I didn't install it myself.)
Since I can't load an OS that is apparently deleted, I'm stuck with using the (latest) SDK to get the stock rom back on the tablet.
The problem is, it doesn't work, at all. The device is recognised by my (Win7) PC and the 'adb devices' command gives me the ID and 'recovery'.
If I try to push the ROM to the Sdcard folder (or any folder, for that matter) It gives me a "protocol error" with no other explanation.
If I try to sideload it it is stuck on "Waiting for device".
I tried the 'shell' command, just to see what that does, but it also gives me an error.
Other commands can also give the the "error: closed" message.
Since both of those commands don't work, I can't get anything on this tablet, since I can't get this version of TWRP to mount an external (micro) SDcard, the option simply isn't there.
Can anyone help me with this, of has my tablet been reduced to an expensive paperweight?
That's the problem with packages - you don't really know what's in it...
What root package did you use?
You have a very outdated recovery installed. I'm guessing here, since you didn't post your bootloader version and that's the first thing we need to know!
Can you still get into the bootloader?
Boot with Power and Volume Down buttons until you see the tiny script and post your bootloader version. Should be something like 10.6.1.....
Do NOT do anything else in recovery at this point!!!! If it is incompatible with your bootloader you could hard brick!
Once we know if you have fastboot access and what your bootloader version is, we can help you to flash the correct recovery in fastboot. With that installed it's a piece of cake to get you up and running.
But be patient! Don't do anything else you're not quite sure of!
*Update Below*
I believe the culprit was the 'Install recovery' method "Scott's Recovery install tool"
I tried a few but most didn't do anything. Every tool I tried comes from the xda forums and checked youtube videos explaining the steps.
If I boot using Volume down + power, nothing extra happens. I just see in the left hand corner "this device is unlocked", since I unlocked the bootloader using the ASUS app.
If I use the command adb reboot bootloader, it goes to TWRP 2.2.1.
Does this imply that I also deleted the bootloader?
Update: I deleted all drivers and software regarding the tablet from my PC and I installed the adb setup package from these forums and reinstalled the (universal?) driver package. This turned out to be a newer version of adb, and I actually managed to push a file to the tablet with no problems. I am reluctant to try anything else at the moment, since this whole ordeal had given me quite the scare (and the desire to learn more about this all)
Can anyone help me revive my tablet?

Ok, good - you got adb working. The adb command to boot into the bootloader is
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
Note the hyphen
Also I wonder if you pushed Power and Volume Down long enough. You should feel the tablet vibrate twice, then see some tiny script and 3 icons appear. That would be the bootloader menu and in it, you are in fastboot mode by default.
The next step would be to check if you have a fastboot connection.
The command for that is
Code:
fastboot devices
Read my guide on flashing a custom recovery and rom very carefully and follow the steps outlined to get TWRP 2.8.0.1 on your tablet.
Ask any questions you may have in that thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688891
Edit: Sorry, forgot that we have to determine your bootloader version first. So use the button combination or the adb command to boot into it and post it. Don't worry. I don't think you did anything to the bootloader - it's not that easy to mess it up...
Unfortunately, the adb code doesn't work, with or without the hyphen. The device will reboot, but will return to TWRP.
I've held down the Volume down+power button for more than a minute witout result. The device will just reboot after a while for as long as I'm holding it. I do see the screen flicker for a second.
I've also noticed, that after I push a file to the tablet, that after a reboot it loses the data I just moved.
After booting TWRP, when I look in the command line of TWRP, it tells me that it can't mount the 'system' , 'data' and 'cache' forders. (tw_mount)
And it specifically mentions (multiple times) that the /data folder failed to mount, giving the message "No such file or directory"
It seems I really managed to F'ed it up good...
My "force-boot-to-bootloader" kernel module might help you unbrick. Read this guide very carefully before you do anything:

You people are my new heroes!
The last guide did the trick. The stock firmware is installed and I'm currently updating and installing all the apps.
Thank you all só much, you really saved me a ton of frustration.
Hi and thanks for using your time to take a look at my post. I am trying to install cyanogenmod 12.1 on my TF300T.
I went to the Asus website and downloaded the unlock tool v8, installed on tablet, and ran it without any issues. Tablet reboots shows little "this device is unlocked" in top left corner. However when it boots up and I try to run an app like titanium backup pro or supersu app, the app say they cannot get root access....
Has anyone experienced this before?
Am I missing a step?
I have android ver. 4.2.1.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Unlock unlocks the boot loader allowing you to load custom roms via additional boot loader as per rom instructions, it does not give root access. You will need to search to a process to root the tablet, I used Kingo root, some do not like using this......although I had no problems. Using custom roms and rooting is at your own risk!
So this is the process that ive Followed... I ran the unlock tool, everything completes without issue. Nexissue the command adb reboot bootload to get my tablet into correct mode. Once the tablet is ready I flash a recovery image (TeamWin TWRP) to the device and boot the recovery. From here, it seems that recovery does not permission to mount any of the drives/folders. I look at the log file and see errors sayin unable to find partitions and unable to mount folders/drives. Below is a link to an image of the errors.
I am not sure if this link will get posted correctly to this thread: https:// drive.google.com/file/d/0B-bmj1Mkq-xzMkQyMHVPU0poSjQ/view?usp=sharing
BTW, thanks for your quick reply.
FYI, for the link above, there is a space between the HTTPS:// and the word drive which start the web address. The forum would not allow me to post a link since I am new.
Sorry, I'm no expert. When I installed Kang TWRP for KatKiss Lollipop, I did lots of research before diving in. Carefully followed instructions and all went well. When you flashed TWRP did you then reboot into bootloader?
fastboot reboot-bootloader
I think you will have to give all the steps you took, then perhaps someone will come along with more guidance.
Just to add some clarity to my situation, in hopes that someone can help shine a light:
1) Installed and ran Unlock device app V8 on the Asus webiste. It claims this is compatible with android version 4.2, i have version 4.2.1. Unlock ran then needed to reboot device. Upon reboot I saw the message "This device is unlocked" in the top right of the screen.
2) Once device rebooted, I installed adb/fastboot on my pc and ran it using CMD.
3) Connect tablet to PC using usb cable.
4) Ran the command "adb reboot bootloader" to get the device into required mode.
5) Next I run the command "fastboot devices" to verify the PC can see the tablet.
6) Run the command "fastboot -i 0xb05 flash recovery Recovery.img" to flash over the Recovery image file I have. Flashing goes through without any errors.
7) Once flash completes, I press up volume button to go into recovery.
8) Recovery boots and I am at the screen with the various options to install, backup, restore, wipe, etc.... I have Team win recovery project v2.8.7.0
9) If i try to use the backup option, it shows my internal storage as (0MB). I look at the log file (https:// drive.google.com/file/d/0B-bmj1Mkq-xzMkQyMHVPU0poSjQ/view?usp=sharing) and see that it cant find or mount various drives. If you want to view link, copy url and remove the space between https:// and the word drive.
**** ALSO, if you have a better or proven method, please feel free to suggest.*****

This issue has been resolved. It looks like the version of TWRP I was using (2.8.7.0) was not getting access to the file systems to be able to make changes or install.
I downloaded version 2.8.7.2 and everyone went flawlessly after that.
Special thanks to bonzoe for telling me that he was using Kang TWRP which led me to google that and get a new version.
