A friend of mine told me he downloaded a app called megaphone and used his phone (not a nexus 5) as a Bluetooth mic for his ps3. Well I downloaded the app and couldn't get it to work. Has anyone ever tried or done this?

Might not be supported yet is my guess...
Nope not working here either. Shouldn't be too much longer before they fix it.
a lot of these apps don't work properly on 2.3
It does work, what doesnt work is the Gba emulator
Contacted the developer and he said he should be able to fix when he gets his nexus s.

Any update on that? Does it now work for the Nexus S?
Snesoid has worked on mine since I bought it in January. I did pay for the app if it matters. I'm running on stock unrooted 2.3.3.
I played Super Mario RPG start to finish with no issues or lag at all. I can confirm gensoid works also.
Xda app won't let me upload a screenshot. Wrong format.

I have it and play everyday no problem. never crashed on me.
stock unrooted
Hi,
new to android world. I've bought a nexus s yesterday and downloaded snesoid from market.
Dumb question: where do you put the roms? as nexus s doesn't have sd card is not clear to me how i should setup application to work properly.
It is unrooted and i want to keep it as it is for the moment (want to learn more before to do it).
Any help?
thanks in advance.
I think i figure out ... it has a mnt point within sdcard as there is one...
Having some trouble with my bluetooth not connecting to my car. I have a Fiat Abarth and at first my N5 was working fine until I updated to 4.4.1. And now it is broken. I can search for devices and it will show my car but after entering the 4 digit code it will not connect and my phone will stick in pairing and not come out of it. anyone know what is going on?
Update to 4.4.2 and see if you have the same problem.

Tried those both. I might have to flash a stock image and see if that fixes it.
Exit: I just walked outside to try it again and it was still acting up, but I persisted and even though it was acting finicky I got it to work... For now

I think you answered your own issue when you said 'Fiat' that'll be your problem not the phone

No the car is fine. It worked before the update and on the other two phones I had.

The Abarth is actually a pretty sweet ride.

Hey guys. I've recently picked up one of these watches since I've read that it will somewhat work with the n5. The main issue that I have is the fact that when paired the watch shows up as a headset instead of a watch which my zwatch showed up as. Because it pairs this way I cannot use a Bluetooth headset cause all audio is filtered to the watch. Is it possible to edit Bluetooth profiles of devices or something? Thanks for any help.

It only works with Galaxy devices natively. It is possible there is a hack out there to make it work with the N5, but I haven't seen one.
Hi,
Found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596455...?

Did you download Gear Manager? Secondly, I believe it may pair as a Bluetooth headset because you can make and receive calls directly from the watch.

Yep audio gets directed to the watch. I've managed to root w/custom ROM on the gear. But the biggest thing I've got to get working is notifications on the watch and audio on the BT earpiece. No luck so far.

Yep I've had gear manager followed all tutorials and got notifications working, its just the fact that I can't use a BT earpiece. I wonder if there is a Bluetooth file somewhere that determines what kind of device is paired to the n5, and if so can it be edited so the galaxy gear is showing up as a watch instead of another earpiece.

I'll have to ask my dad but as far as I can remember whenever he used the Galaxy Gear with his phone he never used his Bluetooth headset and I'm wondering if its because the watch is now considered a Bluetooth headset.

Have a nexus 5 Sony watch wouldn't stay connected...after a phone call to tech support sony does not support anything above 4.3...why BC no sony phones are above 4.3 at the moment....
She said there is an update coming out but didn't know when or even if it would fix the problems....
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I'm using it with my S3 running omnirom, which is at 4.4.2 so it's not that. There is an update coming but I doubt it would help you in itself. Mine disconnects from time to time, I've found the quickest way to reconnect is to turn Bluetooth off on the watch and back on again, it generally pairs straight away. Hopefully that will be fixed in the new version.

This is just what she said. Mine wouldn't reconnect.... To annoying

I'm running a Nexus 5 and had my SW 2 since December, never had issues with connection, aside from once with a botched custom Kernel. If you're not running stock, try running that, other than that I suggest faulty hardware on the watch's part

My SW2 and Nexus 5 work great together, no connection issues. I've had this combo for 2-3 months now.
Same setup here. Nexus 5 and Android 4.4.2, everything is working great. Have you tried resetting the watch to stock?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Tried 2 different watched.. Bluetooth works fine.. Use Bluetooth headphones to work out with and those never get disconnected.
Reset the watch multiple times.. Would work and then lose connection even though the app still shows connected.. The apps would not communicate with my phone
She did say they were getting a lot of complaints about my issue as well.

^Same here... Sony SW2 with Nexus 5 (4.4.2) and haven't had any issues with bluetooth connectivity. As others mentioned, resetting the watch or unpair and re-pairing would be the first things I would try.
Best of luck... let us know how it goes.
Done that. I should say that I got a pebble and have 0 issues.. Don't know why it was not working,, tried 2 different ones from 2 different stores.. Bc of that sony refused to even send me another.. They pretty much forced me to return it

Try again? Some Sony phones were updated to 4.4.2 today.

is there any alternative?
Correct me if I'm wrong but the nexus 5 doesn't even have the hardware to be able to do it. Only alternative I think would be something like a smart tv where you can just use it as a remote via Bluetooth or over the network

There's no alternative. N5 doesn't have IR. If you have a net connected TV there are apps
