Is there any way to disable navigation bar while gaming? Its very annoying, occupies space of screen and most importantly it interferes with game..if accidently i press home button then game stops and i have to resume

You have to be rooted, then go to google play market and download full!screen app. It does it for you
Second option is install xposed framework and gravity box. Then do it with gravity box :good:

Where is the menu button?

Not much of an officianado when it comes to Android.Never owned a phone or tablet with virtual buttons rather than physical ones.
Have installed Apex launcher on my 10.1
Where do I find the settings?
On my SGS3 I obviously just tap the menu button, which the 10.1 doesnt have
I really need an instruction book for this thing.

Double tap on the screen if using apex, will show a list of menus you can do

There's always the settings app in your app drawer.
Settings can be found in notifications as well. Menu button will be there when you need it... certain apps trigger it

Great app for more screen

For couple weeks already I'm using great app to hide onscreen soft keys - Auto Hide Soft Keys. I wanted to fully test it - check if it will work in real usage - and I must say it works perfectly. It takes couple days to get used to, but now I'm enjoying full 4.3'' screen, and there is no way I'm going back.
This is paid application for full functionality but you can test it for free, with just small (but irritating) disadvantage - line at the bottom (you can hide it in full version).
I'm not a developer or anything, just this app is great and I wanted to share with you guys.

Ty for the app, i still prefer Lmt pie control but this is a great app

I've used LMT for some time and for me it doesn't work as good as this one. Auto hide of keys at bottom works so well on RAZR I because we've got this black thin unused bar at bottom, and it's easy to slide finger from there (and it doesn't matter what hand I'm using).
Btw I think that this black bar at bottom was originally designed to contains capacity buttons - I'd like more to have capacity buttons there, because now this bar sits at bottom and is useless and only makes Our phone bigger.
I was hoping for some time that this bar is at least touch sensitive so we could simulate touch controls there (even without showing them) but no-one came with this yet.

hmm... getting error if i try to start the app .. ''YOUR DEVICE IS NOT SUPPORTED''... :/
I'm using Ultimate Dynamic Navbar. It's almost the same but with a little more settings. I prefer it.
For anyone using ultimate nav bar, a there a manual switch to toggle the bar? I don't like having the bar disappear on me, but I don't like leaving it on all the time either.

Nope (and I 'd like that to). Maybe you could ask the developper, he seems to be reactive.
this app is incredible, now real 4.3 inchs :cyclops:

I was wrong, set the bar to not disappear after x time in the options menu, then call it and touch anywhere else to make it vanish. UDN is just perfect.
Yea I tried that, but I found ten second to be too short. What I did was install auto hide, it has a setting to swipe up and activate, and then just touch any empty space in the bar to close it. Great feature!

Suggestion for Multi-Window

I love the new ideas for MW. I have a suggestion, if you swipe up (or left in portrait) the bottom app replaces the top one and left or right would remove it from the stack. It would be consistent with the card ui. Also I'm a fan of halo as a notification manager, but I don't like the floating window for multi-tasking. Would it be difficult to open the notification in multi-window instead?

Also instead of long pressing on the recent app to add an app to the split screen, maybe a small app that is essentially just an app drawer would be a smoother alternative.

1- navigation bar multiwindow button (to be long pressed)
2- all apps displayed in two split screens
3- clicked app opens on the respective side of the screen.

Earlier i has designed the multi window button in the top left side of the "recent apps"screen. but that increases the number of click. I thought multi window should be fast and seamless.

That's why I would make an app drawer. it would be one click and the first app in the stack could be used to launch any others. Plus it can be launched with a quick gesture in most launchers

How to hide soft buttons?

I have seen many apps that hide the soft buttons on tablets and phones, but i need a way to hide only certain buttons. My tablet has five soft buttons, recent apps, back, home, and volume up and down. I don't need the volume keys, so i was wondering if there is a way to hide only certain soft buttons.
You can see the soft buttons in the screenshot.
No one?
it is called a nav bar. certain roms have a feature to disable it just like the statusbar. try settings or immersive mode.
Edit: certain soft keys you say, eh?
well that i cannot help with. try gravity box, or systemui.apk editing.

Adding toggles to my notification pull-down area

The attached picture is how my notification area looks
I got a settings button on top-right of screen, it opens settings app.
But the settings app starts slowly, and usually used up so much ram.
After I closed the settings app and back to my previous using app, It's already closed and restarting.
Is there any way to add a button and a page then when I tap on it, the notification area will switch to the added page with the toggles like WiFi and brightness or something?
Sorry for my bad English...

You can root your device and install "xposed framework" + the module "gravity box". Gravity box provides features to change quicksetting toggles. May work, may not. Just try it if you're bored

I know the module, but my HTC Desire 200 stock Rom is ICS 4.0.3, gravity box supports only JB and up.
I can't figure out any other method than mod systemui.apk and framework-res.apk right now.
Ps. There's no working recovery and newer Rom for this phone now and maybe forever
