[Q] Can't install Validus V4.2 - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to install the validus 4.2(4.4.2) but all i get on reboot is the bootloader unlocked text going pink until it fades away, and then rebooting in the same way...
I've wiped data, cache, system, dalvik cache then installed the zip fille.
I also updated my TWRP to 2.6.3
I'm currently running CM 10.2 (4.3.1)
Is there anything else i need to do first?
Thank You

Can you not restore with twrp/cwmr to previous rom? If so then you need to flash again.
Get 2631 is latest twrp.
---------- Post added at 02:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:35 PM ----------
Don't you have to mount sys first?

i have been flashing for years and never mounted system first. unless its something new with these roms, i dont see the point.

You do on many 412 roms, but here I think you are correct, no mount needed.

I'll try installing the latest twrp, and if that doesn't work,i'll try with phil's. I've mounted system, but the result is the same.

still no progress with the flashing...
i tried installing it with phil's and nothin...
any help?

Which v of philz?
What does the log say? Adv, report error, to internal/cwm.
v6079 will work when 6128 will status7.

I'm using 6.00.8,and there isn't any errors. It installs, both the rom and the gapps, but when i reboot, the bootloader unlocked status text goes pink and and then it starts fading followed by some pink stripes till it finally goes black. After that i have to reboot to recovery and restore, cause if i don't it reboots and the same happens

Did you post in the rom thread? I am stumped at the moment.
Better: post in Philz orig dev thread in HD forum.
Use 6079.

The only other time I saw that was on a RAZR xt912 with water damage/LCD damage.
Is your battery absolutely full? 100%?

Im stuck in TWRP boot recovery

Help,
I rooted my VZW s3 and all was good until i tried to update to a CM10 rom..
It would not install the zip file.. I followed all the guides about backing up the imei file ect.. and I used the correct recovery.. it would not install..I kept getting erros with the ROM zip files I downloaded. so i tried the ez recovery app and installed TWRP.. I like that and have used it in the past.. well I forgot that I cant restore a backup from CWM. so now im stuck bootlooping into TWRP recovery.
Any help?
I was installing TWRP while my GF was talking to me. Not that I'm blaming her or anything but I failed to add the "dd" during the manual install. Now I'm downloading the stock rom and going to try Odin to get my phone functioning again.
Twrp doesn't support kexec, so it will only boot stock based ROM's
sent from locked bootloadrer SGS3 running a custom kernel

Not saying this will help you, but it did with me. I have no idea how.
Tried vol down/home/power and it booted into the custom rom screen. Cancelled that. It rebooted normally..

GT-5113 Only boots into recovery

Installed CWM 6.0.1.0 and rooted this device then installed a 10.1 nightly, wiped dalvik and all but now device boots straight into recovery after samsung 10.1 logo.. I've already tried flashing back to the stock rom using Odin, flash went fine but now it just boots into stock recovery instead of CWM.. also a bit of weirdness to it.. when i click on reboot system it just turns the device off instead of "rebooting", i've tried wiping everything and nothing seems to work.. was for sure the stock rom from sammobile would do the trick but nope ... any suggestions? Thanks.

Flash MIUI 6 version instead of 7.
Then try CM again.
But flashing MIUI should be done via Fastboot, so be sure to get the right version.

Do you guys flash the miui 6 room using fFASTBOOT? Refer this link for the tutorial LINK
Fastboot rom is different from recovery rom because it has all the necessary files to return your device to complete stock rom as it includes recovery img, modem files etc. Try to flash the 6.6.10.0 or 6.6.5.0. Good luck
k
okay i will try.....Thank you
looping problem
i was burning my midnights oil for haplessely flashing Cm12.1.... nothing was happening...
later found out that i was not using miui dev ROM. then downloaded both 5.1 as well as 6.6...
still stuck at languages section... GAPPS was not the correct one. downloaded arm64 5.1 stock... voila.... running smooth since yesterday....
thanks @dh.harald & @omerjerk
now ready to try CM13
When you want a clean install, use the fastboot one. It seems to be a non-system partition problem, thus try flashing fastboot rom and see its outcome
I am trying to flash cm12 with miui 7 but it gone into bootloop then i restore into stock by using twrp recovery it comes to normal. Then i tried flashing resurrection rom it hangs at language point then it again it goes into bootloop. Plz tell me how to flash ROM..??

Use MIUI 6.6.10.0 or 6.6.5.0 and then flash any desired ROM on top of it. Else you may face problems and bootloops.

cyanogenmod does it too just not as mutch it happens only like one or twice since I changed the file system. Sometimes not even once or twice. I Switch roms alot though. If you want to try this just hit me up and I will give you instructions on how to do it. You have to have a rom ready to flash and go when you do it.

Why there is no INSTALL ZIP in CM Recovery only INSTALL UPDATE?
Is it the same?

PS.
I try both CM and TWRP Recovery, and phone stuck on CM logo.
Try re-downloading rom from cm site and put on sd card then go to recovery and do a full wipe by clicking advanced then check mark all boxes except the sd card box. Then flash rom. Your install scripts are in meta inf folder. dont tinker with it.

That the newest version lollipop should work on it. Try changing system to ext4 but swipe factory reset first then click data then change to ext4 then swipe factory reset again then flash rom. Try a a different lollipop ROM. I'm currently using DU. But they all work if you can't flash anything I have been working on stock version of the last 4.4.2 and finally got it to flash via twrp 2.8.6.0. It has root and xposed and app ops adblocker and just got init.d to work just need to do a quick rebuild so init.d sticks via kernel auditor. You can flash it just to get your device going if all else fails.

Mine doesn't reboot and has been optimized. Also try a different ROM to flash but like DU or Mokee there's plenty of other ones. But try changing system to ext4 first. Then flash. I gave you directions on that in post few minutes ago. Try it and see if it works.

I have found the solution of this issue.
The problem is with the FAST DORMANCY service.
When it is active but provider does not support it
it causes problem.
It should be disabled in the file /system/build.prop

What are you installing SuperSU TO? Have you flashed a ROM? Flash a different ROM. Some repeat of above post @Mohammed Siamwala . Avoid majisk until you fix this.- I find it buggy sometimes.
I suspect I have corrupted my ROM somehow.
Installing superSU 2.62 Beta seems to boot it but it still gets stuck at the motorola logo screen.Which ROM should I use and how do I install it?Thanks for diagnosing the problem.:good:

I browsed and found this link:

3.2.1
Make sure:
wipe/advanced/check: dalvik/art, system, data, cache - all 4, but NOT internal storage or SDcard
click the thing that says not to install the TWRP app when rebooting
take a screenshot of error (same way as in ROM) and post it.

Thanks for the help mate.I finally managed to get the stock ROM and shifted to it.Now my phone is faster than ever because of minimal gapps and other useless stuff being thrown out. Thanks for your help once more.
