Hi everyone,
I am trying to get my HTC Sensation 4G able to be used on the ATT network temporarily (I have a new ATT phone that needs to get fixed).
I have an HTC Sensation 4G, onto which I have put a custom ROM. The custom ROM is 11-20131230-Sultan-pyramid. The kernel is 3.0.101-Sultan-kernel-ION-r49, Sultan #1, Mon Dec 30 2013.
My phone is also "LOCKED", S-off, Hboot -1.27.0000
The ATT sim card is also really tiny, I think it is the nano SIM card. I am 90% sure I have it positioned properly on the Sensation's contacts.
Can anyone help me out?
I think the phone needs to be unlocked to work on a different network

I have S-OFF, ROOTED and if I flash with custom or unbranded rom do I still have a SIMLOCK or not? Thanks
If you use a custom rom, which are updated through the cwm, then you will still have simlock.
If, however, change the CID, and use RUU another region, it is quite possible that simlok disappear.

Can you find, please?
would be great to have an unlocked sim because many times more often than not it would be easier and faster to switch operators to the AT&T network and roam (plus have 3g) vs be stuck in low speed gsm land.

No, T-Mobile version of the Sensation won't have 3G on AT&T network even if it is sim unlocked. Their 3G bands are not compatible. On top of that, have fun reading your bill with roaming data charges.
i have a grandfathered plan still that has no roaming for voice or data. and i wasn't concerned as much about the 3g for data as opposed to the gsm capabilities for text and voice in a lot of out lying areas where tmobile is spotty as a Dalmatian
Hi guys,
I've just got an HTC Sensation XE. I got it from 3uk but I want to use my orange simcard in it. When I insert my sim there is no simlock message but I don't get any signal. Do I need to change any settings or is my device simlocked in a different way?
Thanks in advance,
CheeseWeasel
My guess is you need a new apn - access point name - normally you select this on 1st boot. It shows in the settings wireless and networks somewhere.

Even more strange, I tried a brand new orange payg sim card in it and that worked fine. Could it be because the contract sim I am using is rather old (2 years old) that it is not quite compatible?
Any help would be appreciated.
hi folks -
i have an inspire 4g (on at&t) that i rooted using the hack-ace kit. i'm going to be traveling to switzerland and wanted to get a prepaid sim card there to use instead of roaming on at&t. as i understand it, if i used the hack-ace kit, my phone should be unlocked so that i can use a sim card that i buy in switzerland. is that right? is there something on the phone i can check that would indicate to me that it is, indeed, unlocked?
and finally, is there anything else i should know about or need to do beforehand? i'm counting on this plan and just want to make sure that everything goes smoothly once i get there.
thanks!
When I sold my inspire the first time it was for a guy who had tmobile he just popped in his sins card and it worked

This weekend i will finally get my HTC sensation. But it was carrier locked so the guy unlocked it before he wanted to sell it to me.
Now he has "no service" always on all SIM cards tested.
The unlock method he used is unknown for me, but i think i can get that information out of him.
He tried:
-3 or more different custom roms
-returning to stock completely
-some more if i get information out of him
So, my question is, what is a good fix for this? (Sorry if i didn't give you enough information, but i can get more)
Also sorry if someone already posted this with similar problem.

Sounds like the IMEI has been blocked, usually due to the phone being reported lost, stolen or a service contract breach. This is different to SIM unlocking and can't be undone as the block is applied from the service network side, not on the handset.
It can be used as a pda with wifi but the phone & mobile data will never work again, unless you can find out why the block was applied and get it rescinded.
This may be a stupid question but the imi number, is it blocked on the carrier he is using or are imi bans for all carriers?

Okay, so I moved to the US last year from germany and bought there the unlocked HTC Sensation which is really liked so i just switched my Vodafone Sim with a T-Mobile Sim, everything worked fine, i got perfect signal and "4G" or it showed on my sensation a HSPA. Everything fine.
But a few days ago i got the HTC One S Unlocked international version, which i really love. So after cutting my sim and putting it in I noticed that I only get Edge with my phone. First i thought there was something wrong with my sim, so i went to tmobile an got a new microsim. But still the same... so i googled a little and found out that compared to the tmobile htc one s the international version doesnt support the AWS frequency (1700/2100mhz). But i think both versions have the same chip so it must be able somehow to enable the AWS frequnecy, so after hours of looking i still couldn't find anything.. I read that i could put a tmobile ruu on it, but i am not sure about this if this works or of there are other ways to get 4G on my HTC One S
Well, With the Sensation, The US 4G version had an extra gold pin on the back, Like an antenna. So you would never get 4G on a non 4G phone.
However, Some users believe that there is no such thing as 4G and that its all a hype.
But what you can do is modify the signal icons (.png files) and replace the H icon with a 4G icon, So whenever you get a HSPA signal, Your phone will show 4G..

More than likely a hardware limitation.
The internation version can't get T-Mobile 3G/4G, as you stated, they use different frequencies.

You can't change the radio hardware with software.
