After a struggle, I have successfully paired my NS with a Parrot CK3000 Bluetooth car kit. This is great because I can now activate the voice dialer from my steering wheel... however, the voice recognition on the NS voice dialer is less than useless!!!! It does not recognise names very well and you end up calling random people. Trying to "Call Sam", always ends up calling Simon. I have tried changing the voice settings to English UK (preferred), English Generic and US but no joy.
My old WM device had excellent voice dialing, worked spot on every time. At least it asked you first if the selected contact was correct! The google voice dial app just dials straight away!
Is there a better voice dialer app? Preferably one that doesn't involve active data?
Moved to Q&A
Sorry Thought this was an app question
I never use the voice dialer app, but I use the Google Voice Actions to say "call Sam" without problems. I don't know if they use the same voice engine, but you might want to try. I think it's actually called the Voice Search app. Must be US English for proper function.
Actually, might not be a good solution for you, since you have to hit accept key on the phone, so not true hands free.
Hey I'm new to the board and have a question about the Xoom.
I have a data plan for the xoom and use GrooveIP to make calls through Google Voice. What I would like to know is:
Is there anyway to use voice dialing to search and call my contacts through grooveIP? Since the Xoom doesn't have a default dialer, the standard voice recognition just throws an error about how my device doesn't have the phone capability.
Example of what I hope to accomplish:
me: "Call George"
Xoom then locates george's contact info and uses GrooveIP or different application to place the call.
I have looked everywhere and I have yet to find a solution.
Thanks in advance

As per the title, since the google search / google now update where by it can be used on any screen locked etc... when activated (it currently is not as it isn't compatible with English UK language) When I press my BT headset button it brings up the old voice dialler instead of google now, if I uninstall google search and try my headset it works but then if I apply the update it goes to the old voice dialler which is naff for anyone that has over 4 numbers and limited features.....
Any suggestions?
How does Google Voice work with Lollipop? I use my Google Voice number as my primary number, and nobody has my actual number on my SIM card. I use Google Voice for all inbound and oubound calls. I have NOT migrated over to Hangouts yet, because the Hangouts dialer can't be answered without unlocking the phone, etc. What happens to Google Voice when you go to Lollipop? My phone got the notification to update, but I am worried about breaking my call functionality.
Thank you in advance.
Looks like Lollipop can still use the Google Voice app and everything appears to work the same as before.
Any ideas?
*71[Your Google Voice number]
*90[Your Google Voice number]
*92[Your Google Voice number]
Tried these to use google voice mail on my verizon S6 but no luck. When I call my number it just rings forever.
I've tried deactivating, activating, using the app, etc. No luck.

Tried *72[Your Google Voice number]?
You need to go to Google voice on a desktop and reset it, it will give you a different number than your current number to forward the calls to, I had to do this, but it does work.

You got this to work WITH advanced calling on?
Activating advanced caking is what screwed up Google voice for me, after I activated advanced calling I did the above step and got Google voice working again, my phone says advanced calling is active but I've yet been able to use it, since both people have to have it activated, so I'm not sure if it actually works!

How exactly did you reset google voice on a computer? I hit deactivate and then tried to reactivate it and it gave me the same number as my google voice number to forward calls to.
