Instructions
Recommendations/Requirements:
- An hboot with at least 250mb on system. These include stock hboot or @jmcclue's 250/5/182 hboot.
- A 512mb - 1.5gb EXT partition (EXT4 recommended) on your sdcard. Use this guide, and this guide only to create the partition. Partitions made using other tools (CWM, Minitool Partition Wizard, etc.) will likely cause issues.
- The latest TWRP or 4EXT Recovery. Old versions of CWM may cause issues.
- A somewhat decently functioning brain (optional)
Installation Steps:
- Boot into recovery
- Full wipe *
- Flash ROM
- Flash GApps
- Reboot
- Setup m2sd using the instructions below
- Start Play Store to load setup for WiFi, Google account, etc.
* Full wipe includes system, data, cache, dalvik cache, .android_secure and sd-ext
Note: All keyboard languages except English have been removed in order to save space. (There are still many system languages though). If you want to use a language other than English on the keyboard, after completing the setup you can download and install the Google Keyboard which supports many languages.
Install Mounts2SD - Manual method:
- Install Mounts2SD app through the play store
- Open Mounts2SD > Menu > Application Settings > Install Startup Script
- Click the wrench icon in Mounts2SD. Under the Content header: enable Applications, Libraries and Dalvik Cache. It should look like this when you are done.
*Dont be confused by that fact that they seem to already seem to be checked. They are not. You must click on them so that the checkmark become green*
*Grey checkmark = disabled. Green checkmark = enabled*
- Reboot (might take a while)
OR
Install Mounts2SD - Easy method:
- Flash this zip
- Reboot (might take a while)
Optimized Settings and Tips:
Settings > Developer options > Enable Force GPU rendering
Settings > Beanstalk options > Beanstalk Init.d scripts > Clear cache
Settings > Beanstalk options > Beanstalk Init.d scripts > Enable speedy modified (This may cause graphical issues. If it is bothering you disable this option)
Settings > Beanstalk options > Beanstalk Init.d scripts > Enable loopy smoothness
Don't make app drawer background transparent (instead it should be opaque for best performance)/
Use Greenify to hibernate memory hungry apps that constantly run in the background.
Flash Fly-On Mod script (Dont flash on RC5 or higher)
Flash optimized dalvik libraries. (Not compatible with RC3 or higher)
Thanks to:
@scott.hart.bti - the founder and lead developer of the ROM
@LaidbackNikez and Evervolv - makers of the awesome qsd8k kernel that powers this ROM, as well as htc vendor files and bravo device tree
@spezi77 - modified the bravo device trees for CM compatibility which saved me a lot of time and helped me fix a few other things
@parkedraccoon - helped me fix a build error that wouldn't allow me to compile this ROM
@tommypacker - for testing and porting to the Nexus One (at the same time)

Been testing for a day, and I haven't had a single force close.
If you're going to leave this type of negative feedback, please at least post some logs or include more details on what caused your issues.

The problem is that when you start the rom the keyboard is closed and can not be used at any time, when I get in the application drawer closes systemui, so I can not do anything or get into play store. No need for the records.
Sorry if I was too hard on the first comment.

Everything stable as rock for me, considering that it is an early build. The only thing missing for me is trackball wake. Endless options and customization available. Keep up Chromium_. Tremendous work.

For what it's worth, I was loading the device from the computer and had no drums. Maybe some kind of conflict occurs.

I had to reinstall+clear cache/data the rom 3 times in order for it to work. First time, the keyboard didn't work. After a reinstallation, it worked. However, this time, I experience the setup guide stopped working. Another reinstall without clearing cache/data fixed this. The launcher wasn't installed along with some other apps. I have no logs of this, as they are cleared after reboot. Just wanted to tell my experince.
After all this, it seems like it is working like a charm

That might be the problem, as that recovery is quite old. Use 4ext recovery or my TWRP (in my sig) when flashing in the future.

[COLOR="Red"][B]Build 3[/B][/COLOR][/SIZE]
This release of the rom contains a ramdisk that will scan ext(4,3,2)
filesystems prior to mounting. Repairs are done automatically as
needed so if your filesystems are clean, you shouldn't notice anything
different. If they are corrupt it may take a little longer to boot.
Precautions:
We are asking (insisting) that everyone flashing this version of the
rom do a clean install.
Factory Reset must be run through recovery. The installer is not
capable of unmounting the cache partition that recovery mounts.
The Option inside the installer for clearing Data will reformat
the data partition only. In the future it will clear all the data
that the Factory reset option in recovery does, but for now it is
limited.
We are insisting that Factory Reset be used because it's an almost
guarantee that /data, /cache and perhaps /system are corrupt.
Journals only repair certain types of fs corruption and android
doesn't use fsck to repair filesystems. So overtime, especially
with the use of overclocking and undervolting and unsupported versions
of android, these writeable filesystems get corrupt.
Repairing such corrupted filesystems will yield completely unknown
results as far as files that get cleared or duplicated.
In the future however, you should be able to rely on dirty installs
much more, as those filesystems will not get more and more corrupt
overtime. You should also notice that long term use will not
result in increasing instability.
You can verify that filesystems are being repaired prior to mounting
by checking dmesg via adb or in Terminal. You should not see any
messages about the journal recovering the filesystems when they
are mounted. But more importantly you'll notice things are way
more stable (at least in the force close and random crash department)
Short version:

EAGLESBLOOD™ ROM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
=======================================
**IMPORTANT** - MUST READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW COMPLETELY
1. Make a full backup of your current ROM. Then copy it over to PC if you wish.
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM). *Note* You should always flash CWM using a USB Cable and NVflash; do not 'flash CWM from the ROM Manager app'.
3. To begin start by clicking "Wipe User Data/Factory Reset", this will wipe all data off of the phone's memory (not SD card though).
4. Now click "Wipe cache partition".
5. Then go down to "Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache".
6. Choose Install zip from "External SD Card". Wait for that to complete and confirm you see an "Installation Complete" message.
7. Now, you must flash the correct Google Apps - GApps ICS (gapps-20120212-ics.zip) ...link below.
Once the gapps are installed you can now click "Reboot System". Failing to complete all of these instructions precisely can potentially leave you stuck in CWM Recovery until you manage to build your way back out. This is not fun, trust us.
9. Done. Enjoy your new ROM!

Other Info
All in all, this ROM is Cyanogenmod 10.1 with a few graphic changes. It also includes various extra features that have been cherry picked from multiple sources. In addition this ROM is compiled without the use of cchache and only full clean builds are released. This means that it will take longer for me to compile, however it will result in a reduced chance of bugs and maybe even an increase in performance.

Fixes & Add-On's
Restore Stock Font - removes the preinstalled custom font, and replaces it with the Jellybean's default Roboto font.
Restore Stock Lockring - removes the chromium logo lockring, and replaces it with the stock lockring.
Fix Tearing (Build 10 ONLY) - fixes graphical tearing issues found in build 10. It is no longer needed to use the "Disable HW overlays" option.
Disable Button Backlight - disables the backlight on the desires hardware buttons.
White Softkeys - Replaces the holo blue softkeys with white ones
More Stuff & FAQ
How do I disable Navigation Bar?
Settings > Chromium ROM settings > Button Height > 0dp (off)
Im getting graphical issues & tearing throughout some apps in build 10. How do I fix this?
First go to Settings > About phone > Tap on Build number 7 times. That will enable the Developer options menu. Go into it and enable "Disable HW overlays".
This should solve all of these issues, but keep in mind that this option does not stick after a reboot. Therefore you will need to re-enable it upon each boot.
**There is now a fix for this - Download and flash it from the Fixes & Add-On's section above**
Recommended Settings for Performance:
First go to Settings > About phone > Tap on Build number 7 times. That will enable the Performance menu. Then go into it and choose these:
Processor:
CPU Governor - Performance
Min CPU Freq. - 460MHz
Max CPU Freq - 1113MHz
I/O scheduler:
I/O scheduler - CFQ
Memory management:
zRam - 26%
Allow purging of assets - Enabled
KSM - Enabled
Also install Nova launcher, as Trebuchet (the stock launcher) seems to be a bit laggy.
Here are some screenshots of the battery life im getting after a day of heavy usage:
Almost 4 hours of screen on time...Keep in mind that i still have another 20% battery left in the screenshots.
could you please make it compatible for Data++ hboot.?? i.e 180 system
coz have to use int2ext (1gb ..sd-ext) as 100mb (data) is required for each 500mb sd-ext :/

I could try, but I don't think I can make it that small. I've already removed a lot from.it.
Why not just use a2sd?...it works fine

Try it this afternoon

wifi works fine for me. Try asking in the q&a section
also i completely forgot to add a gapps download...i was too focused on getting the rom to boot. So does anyone have a gapps package that works well with this? Let me know and I'll add it to the OP. One more thing, has anyone tested jelly hboot? Should work fine, just wondering
Giving me status 7 error upon flashing. Could be because of my data partition, it's full of bad blocks, I used jelly hboot.
Great ROM ! Fast & Stable since yesterday. No soft reboot and Wifi work great.

Thanks. To disable the navbar:
-navigate to /system
-open build.prop
-look for this line and remove it:
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Then reboot
It is possible to add this style of Navbar to other CM10.1 based ROMS?

Re: [ROM]<--CHROMIUM ROM v1.0-->[JB 4.2.2][CM10.1]
You could copy the systemui.apk into another ROM, but its possible that it won't work.
Or you could just download the soft keys that you want and manually put them into your ROMs systemui yourself...that's guaranteed to work.

I saw this ROM on RAZR and I thought it was cool so I decided to port it over to Atrix 2.Hope you guys enjoy it.
This ROM is based on the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP). This was originally made out of pure boredom and for personal use. After sharing it with a few people, we decided to take it a step further and turn it into something special while still having fun. Since then we've decided to share this ROM with the community and have ported it over to several devices to include the EVO LTE, Galaxy Nexus (Maguro), Galaxy Nexus (toroplus), Nexus 4 and the HTC One.
Since we do not take ANY credit for the original code used in this ROM we would like to give credit and just say thanks to all the teams and individuals that have helped us in one way or another!
The names below are in no specific order.......
| AOKP / Team Kang | CyanogenMod | Paranoidandroid | Preludedrew | Tomzefi | NYCHitman1 | Tommytomatoe | JMZtaylor | iBlowpot |ChaOS Team | Liquidsmooth |
| CarbonROM | Rohan32 | LorDClockaN | Dastin1015 | Bajee11 | SlimROMs | Ramjet73 | Sean8172 | Thyrus | TUN_SD | Daxxmax | Beerbong | Sammyycakes | Mazda |
If I left someone out, please be act like an adult and just PM me. I am human and forget things from time to time

Note:This ROM uses JBX kernel.
Note:Please backup your CID just to be safe. You may not have this error ever but it's always safe to have a backup of the CID.So that if you get a message invalid CID or soemthing just restore it and you'll be good to go.
To backup CID:
Reboot into Recovery
Tap on firmware flashing
Tap on backup CID.
Note:To be flashed via BMM only
BMM instructions:
See here if this is your first time multibooting with BMM.
Download and install BMM from google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...otmenu.manager
Our phone does not have a partition for internal storage.. so we use the data partition for it.. To do so, just open a root browser like root explorer and navigate to /etc/bmm/conf
Open "recovery.fstab" with a text editor
The last line will be something like this
/int vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p25
Just change 'vfat' to 'auto' and 'mmcblk1p25' to 'userdata' (its the same though..)
So that it looks like this
/int auto /dev/block/userdata
and of course save it and close it..
Done.. you are good to go.. Happy Multi Booting..
Just some tips
On your first reboot, tap the android, go to settings-->System_2-->Partition setup and tap on ACTIVATE. This formats cdrom partition to ext2.
Now go back 2 two steps, and select any other system(3-6). choose Partition setup, tap on system.img, tap on Create, select the size, create it. go back and do the same with data.img and cache.img.
Once thats done, go back and select recovery, select switch system. choose your system that you created the images for, the colour will change, install any custom rom.. Enjoy!!
NOTE: BMM stores the images in internal memory(/int/clockworkmod/virtual/system_(num)). Since we dont have emmc partition and are using the data partition for /int, doing a factory reset will wipe it out and you will lose all your other roms.. So be carefull..
NOTE 2: USE ONLY SYSTEMS 3 TO 6 FOR CUSTOM ROMS.. SUSTEM 2 IS CDROM PARTITION.. YOU ACTIVATE IT ONCE AND DONE.. DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN.. ITS ONLY 12MB..
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL BMM IF YOU USED A2 BOOTSTRAPPER BEFORE. THAT WILL MESS THINGS UP WITH YOUR LOGWRAPPER.BIN. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BOOT LOOP AFTER REBOOT. NOW IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT READ THIS, AND GET A MESSAGE ABOUT BMM ASKING YOU TO GET HELP, BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY AND FXZ BACK. OR THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL HAVE TO USE MCGRUVYER METHOD OR ANOTHER A2 BATTERY. USER RAD7 RECENTLY HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH HIS BATTERY DYING AFTER BMM MESSED WITH LOGWRAPPER. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
Make sure you have BMM recovery.
Reboot and hit the droid at the BMM splash screen
Optional:
Tap on Settings
Create a new System by creating system, data and cache partitons.Delete the previous partitions if you have to(NOTE: You can skip this but it's better to do it this way)
Click to collapse
Wipe data/factory reset(Goto wipe and clean)
Wipe dalvic cache(Again goto wipe and clean)
Flash ROM(Choose Install Zip from sdcard and then select the ROM zip)
Flash Gapps(Again Choose install zip from sdcard and select gapps zip)
Reboot
Click to collapse

Actually that's a bug with the JBX kernel.Make sure the screen is on when you plub in the usb.
What do you mean “battery life is suck"??
From what I see you've about 12hrs of uptime and half of your battery still remains. Is that rubbish for kexec??
Check out the JBX kernel thread and make sure you've done the right optimizations before you post such rubbish comments. Also try flashing the latest kernel. The one in this lacks a bit of fine tuning.

From my understanding with this new kernel we can only flash these latest kexec build with the new kernel on system 1 and 1 only. 2-6 can't boot latest kernels. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But since this I've only been stick with 1 system since I'm still considering which one to keep on system 1 then going on from there. Have you been flashing any on system 1?

I am using Carbon 1.7 with the latest JBX-kernel 0.6a on system 4 without a problem, i did have a problem with the updated aokp with the JBX-0.6 kernel that is built in - the phone just didn't want to boot, but if i flashed the 0.6a version it did boot AOKP ..

The JBX kernel in this ROM was still a very early version of the JBX kernel so maybe that is the problem.Just flash the ROM and then flash the latest JBX kernel. That should solve all your booting problems.
And just to make it clear you have to flash the kernel on every system seperately. It's not like you flashed the kernel on system 1 so it flashed for all the systems. You have to flash it for each system seperately.
Hope this gets all the problems resolved.

No it's nothing like that. You can boot this kernel on any system 1-6.Infact I have it booting on my systems 1,3,4,and 5 without any problem whatsoever.
To all after flashing the ROM just flash the latest JBX kernel to avoid any problems.

same as cm10.1, which is stable:good:
I must say, with all the tweaks and customizations that seem specific for our hardware, or at least performed with our device in mind, I'm definitely interested in giving this ROM a shot as new DD to replace SilverL's unofficial 4.2.2 I've been using since July.
Did a test install and everything seemed to be working real good. Not a huge fan of the terminal-ly looking font (from sense I guess) but I'm sure that's probably configurable somewhere that I haven't bothered to look yet, or in one of the 2 included super customizers.
I'll post up my thoughts if I do go DD with this but in the meantime, I'd love to hear opinions from anyone else that's installed and used so far. Might be my new fav 4.2.2 rom until a fully usable 4.3 (in my head at least) comes out.
Before switching from emmanuels 4.3 version to this i have to ask:
- is the keyboard popup lag fixed when using the hw keyboard?
- if you will update this anytimes...are you considering implementing halos? (Sorry if i may sound demanding...i am not...just curious )
- thanks for the build and all the hard work in advance

Lack of attention and feedback. For me to make my rom perfect I need help from the community also.

That's too bad that you feel that way, it's been a daily driver since release date. Look forward to you continuing development.

Lack of attention? We're a smaller community then a lot of other devices so 10 OP likes in the first week is decent. Don't get discouraged over it

Maybe it was the fact I didn't do a full absolute clean slate wipe before flashing (way too busy to reinstall all my apps and settings manually and I don't trust auto-backup apps) but there was an issue with Media closing on its own when I tried opening camera, and took an act of congress to get it to let me out of the f/c loop. I'll do a full wipe if and when I get time because this looks interesting to me.
You want feedback... will you take feature requests and suggested improvements? I offer them with respect, of course, but you might not like my opinion is all

Sorry, camera f/c is extremely weird, but mostly a small issue and can be fixed. But yes I do take feature request, its fine with me, each build of gimmeabreak is to be unique

FEATURES
- PIE (with immersive mode on)
- PEEK
- HOVER
- Non intrusive phone call notification
- Legacy parts (is simply a sub-menu that consolidates all of cm/device specific coding and features into one location to prevent a mash with ParanoidAndroid setup)
- PA Wallpapers
- New CM Theme Manager
- CM's cLock
- CM's File Manager
- OmniSwitch
- OmniTorch
- Advanced Power Menu
- Quick Settings (Tiles)
- Status and Navigation Bar See Through
BRAVO SPECIFIC
- Linux 2.6.38 kernel: my self-brew "Utopian" for htc qsd8k-devices (very close to EV kernel plus additional cpu governors and all applicable security patches that are recommended here)
- Latest Adreno libs from AU_LINUX_ANDROID_JB_VANILLA_04.02.02.060.053 (build date: 2013/04/11)
- Trackball to wake the device (not to unlock it)
- OmniTorch as substitute for PA's lightbulb (as it does not work on our device)
- ParanoidOTA removed because it is useless for my homemade rom
- A few tweaks for faster scrolling, longer battery life and smoother overall performance
NOT WORKING
- MMS (present in all 4.x ROMs; Just use Textra SMS instead)
- Video recording (present in all 4.x ROMs)
- Screen recording (error: cannot create output folder)
- OpenVPN (kernel issue: cannot acquire tun interface socket)
- SELinux (disabled by intention)
- Xposed/GravityBox [KK] (causes bootloop)
- Quick tile to turn on/off lightbulb
- Notification/Battery LED
REQUIREMENTS
- An hboot with at least 250mb on system. These include stock hboot or Alpha Jelly (250/5/182) hboot
- A 512mb - 1.5gb EXT partition (EXT4 recommended) on your sdcard. Use this guide to create the partition. Partitions made using other tools (CWM, Minitool Partition Wizard, etc.) will likely cause issues.
- The latest TWRP (credits @Chromium) or 4EXT (credits @madmaxx82) Recovery. Old versions of CWM may cause issues.
INSTALLATION (follow this procedure exactly)
- Remove SIM card
- Full wipe
- Flash ROM
- Wipe Battery stats
- Boot ROM and let it settle down (3-5 min)
- Open up Terminal Emulator, type in 'su' and 'a2sd install ' (chose: Y/N/N)
- Reboot into recovery
- Flash my slim gapps
- Power off and insert SIM card
- Reboot
Have a nice day!
P.S.: You may want to compile it yourself:
Code:
repo init -u https://github.com/spezi77/paranoid.git -b kitkat
repo sync

You are welcome!
I did not use soft buttons with this rom yet.
Try either to add this line: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to your build.prop or install xposed/gravitybox.

Why soft buttons, since there is PIE? Personally, I use Button Savior.
PIE is not as useful as real softkeys.. I guess I can install xposed and gravitybox to enable softkeys? I thought softkeys can be enabled/customized on paranoid roms

I have observed that a few rom customizing options from AOSPA 3 are not (yet) present in AOSPA 4. And also that there is no special paranoid settings section any more -- instead we have now "Legacy parts" which consolidates all of cm/device specific coding and features.
About Xposed and GravityBox (don't install on this rom):
I was able to install Xposed, but GravityBox is not working on this rom. After installing it, my phone went into a bootloop. :/
This Rom is for me smoother then Evervolv 4.4.4, but i got too many black screens. 5-15 every Day. And how i must set up The CPU?

Please give more details in which situations you got a black screen. If possible I would be interested in getting your logcat.
On my phone I did not experience any black screen. Anyone else with this?
For CPU settings go to Settings > Legacy Parts > Performance.

I have used the rom today more intensively, installed a few more apps and I could not observe any black screens. Is this happening to anyone else?
I guess sth could have went wrong during the rom installation on your phone.
Sorry, I have to inform you about a critical issue with telephony!
If you try to call someone, phone process is force closing. :/
Incoming calls work just fine.
Just use the phone apk and phone provider apk from evervolv and everything works fine. Maybe, i create a logcat, if i can.

I just tried to replace app/TelephonyProvider.apk and priv-app/Dialer.apk from latest EV nightly -- but it did not do anything good.

That’s what I did. Can’t check that right now, because I haven’t got a SIM card to hand for that phone. But: Messaging FC’s upon opening it. But? To do with the apk substitution?

Well, I have shared a logcat with FC of dialer-apk with the AOSPA-legacy community. I could not figure out where the root cause is (resource missing).. let's see if someone can help.
