Hey whats up guys, I have a friend with an Apache phone who wants to use an custom rom on it, I have browsed the Apache forum and wiki and didnt see what exactly need to be done in order to get this to happen.
I am not too new to this whole modified ROM scene, I have an Wizard unlocked every which way and used 7-8 different ROMS on it.
But any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
WOW!
almost 30 views and not one person can steer me in the right direction?
I would direct your attention to ppcgeeks.com. They are currently building a plethora of ROMs and have any and all information regarding the set-up and reflashing of the Apaches.
Ps, sorry no one could have told you this sooner.
Regards, LDKP

Hey thanks for the response man, will check it out.
Sorry that I am a noob, but I have been reading threads for a couple hours and haven't found a source that will answer my question.
What is the easiest way to get JB on my HOX?
I have ran into some that seem easy but only to find that I need a CID of HTC_xxx where mine is CWS_001. After a post directing me to this forum I have continued to try to find something to help me get JB and no luck. If there is a post that describes this please reply with it, or if anyone would be kind enough to post directions on how to do this that would be greatly appreciated.
Again, sorry that I am a noob at this, first Android phone, switched from iOS after Apple's disappointing "new phone", aka iPhone 4s with an extra row of icons.
Thanks!

First, you can use this tool to easily root your phone, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952426), then flash any JB ROM you like and just follow the instructions.

Thank you! I will use this to root my phone. Where might I find a JB ROM for my CID? Maybe I am missing something but that's where I run into the most difficulty.
Thank you again for your quick help!

You have to change your CID from the AT&T default before you can unlock anyway. Once you do that, it doesn't matter anymore.

The CID will be changed to 1111111 before you can unlock your phone and then root, so don't worry about that. Happy flashing!

Ok...all these noobs getting the phone for free are now pissing me off completely. If you want to overcome being a noob, you have to put in time to read and search. DO NOT DO ANYTHING BEFORE FEELING COMFORTABLE WITH THE INFORMATION AT HAND
Being a noob means you should have at least watched the noob video when signing up. If you did not you broke the first rule of XDA and you need to watch it. If you did watch it(which I suspect you did not) you would know to search and read before posting. The community is here to answer questions we all have, but not questions that have been answered over and over again. Nor to spoon feed you.
oh ****...i know whats going to happen after he gets it rooted.......Don't you?? i see a brick coming up from attempting to flash the EVO OTA.
zac507, there is no official jb sense for our phone. someone should of stated that in the first reply shame on ALL of you. if you read his OP you would see he already tried flashing the endeavoru jb rom which is why he got the CID error.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044729
Here are GREAT guides for noobs basically from start to finish here. When I was first starting I made a Q&A thread ONLY after reading enough to where I was confused and not confident in going forward without consulting others.....The key here is that you need to read and understand what you are doing first before you ask for help otherwise what good is the help?
Anyways, good luck reading and hopefully everything goes well

That would indeed explain his obsession with his CID. Good catch.

So what does this mean for him? How can you flash a endeavoru jb rom without being unlocked and rooted?

I wasn't trying to be mean lol....and just read the op again, unless I don't know how to read I see NOTHING about it saying that's what he was doing.....so maybe if you read the op...............

Thank you to everyone (except Chef). I will continue to read and do research before rooting or flashing my phone.
Chef, I have read through the forums quite a lot, asked others who have flashed other Android devices and watched many video tutorials on the subject. But before doing anything I wanted to ask a specific question that I did not see in the forums to get a clear and concise answer. Since I PAID for my phone, I do not want to brick it, hence my thread. I suggest you pull your over-inflated tech ego out of your swollen rear and learn to read. I said I was a noob at this. Noobs have questions. People on forums answer questions to help them. You, on the other hand, just act like a prick and contribute nothing to the thread. Thanks for absolutely no helpful information, please stop posting on any forum if this is how you do it.
Again, thank you to everyone else who replied. You were very helpful!

Where do I begin to correct this post?
First, let's start with the fact that you asked "what is the easiest way to get JB on HOX?" Well assuming you read, and searched and etc. you wouldn't need to ask that question considering you would have had the answer already because you in fact read and you would know that you can flash countless JB roms if bootloader unlocked and rooted.
My over inflated tech ego must have got in the way though. Even though you asked a question which is so similar to all the other JB related questions asked on this forum.
Obviously you need to continue to read(skimming and reading are different) considering the fact that you try to run an international RUU on your phone...
I was looking out for your best interest, if you want to take it to a personal level and call me a prick so be it, but I sure hope I help ingrained the fact that you need to read more before tinkering.
I think my rear is swollen I should go lay down
Zac, if you have any trouble or need help I for one would be willing to help, sent you a pm so we don't offend anyone else in here.

guys, its probably very off topic question, but I will have my HOX this friday,
we have JB over 4.2.1 over there, but we are currently in war with SOD because of google lol
awesome devs and kernel over there too
my question is
isnt the current stock from HOX cool enough?

Where the heck is "over there"? I assume some other device.
If somebody with 400+ posts on here doesn't get the purpose of custom ROMs, what the heck have you been doing here all this time?
im sorry if this is the wrong place to post...but the other parts of this forum dont get enough traffic.
I lost my imei when flashing stock rooted rom. I made a backup but when the phone restarted..the backups got erased. I dont know why this happend!! this is the worst case scenario. I tried flashing the stock rom from samsung dot com via odin....my imei still isnt restored!!
any other way i can get my imei restored even though i dont have a backup?? thanks in advancee
maybe this thread can help others with similar issues
So..
You ignored the installation and the forum instructions... ok.
I highly recommend the box at the top labeled "search".
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801997
Good luck with that.

Thread reported to be moved. Many of us worked really hard to get a forum for this device, so I'm sorry if I sound a little peeved when I see CRAP like this in the dev section.
DO NOT post a thread in development unless you are developer posting work
Questions go in Q&A!
Thread moved

I can understand why you would be peeved. But i used the search function. and found multiple ways of solving my problem. But none of which worked for me.
I was installing paid apps in other tutorials to try and fix my imei issue, and ended up with deadend after deadend. and furthermore..most of the guides werent specific to my phone. I didnt want to make my phone a "superbrick". I knew better than to post in the dev section...but i acted purely out of fustration and desperation. the user "orange808" was kind enough to point me in the right direction.
i know that doesnt justify it...but it wont happen again! i apologize
I appreciate all the devs hard work on this phone.
Hey everyone,I have a Verizon m8 and am rooted with s off. I was wondering if there is anyway to unroot and turn soff back on.... I would really liketo get this phone back to the way it came fresh out of the box.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
Also, I am running viperrom if that matters at all.

Read through here...read carefully what versions you are on, if you remove s-off now and the 4.4.3 update comes out you may not be able to s-off again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745257
Based on your other post I really wouldn't worry about it. If I were a bit nervous like you, I would flash a rooted stock rom, which you should be able to find in the threads as well.
Couple quick notes since you sound a bit new, I would edit/remove (you can't delete a post so just edit the entire post to say removed because wrong thread) that request in the Viper thread, someone will probably flame you for asking in there. Lastly, seems like you are getting some help so good luck and keep reading and asking, the Thanks button under peoples names is always appreciated, I know I appreciate it .

With this attitude no one will you help you. Help yourself and others on XDA and just don't root or do any other customizations to your phones. The answers to your issues are in the forums, but if you are not willing to do the research and reading required to fix issues that arise (your questions have been discussed thoroughly by the way), save yourself the time and trouble.
I have reported your second post to moderators. Foul language is not necessary and will not get you anywhere here.

Glad to hear you got it working. One major recommendation: edit your post where you used bad language. Better if you take responsibility and clean it up then a moderator. Second, as you have done, always report that your problem is resolved if it has been. If possible, details of what you did is always good to share as it may help others.
Here is what I will tell you. This is not a support site. This is a developers site. Which means if you come off rude, unprepared or didnt do your proper research then you will most likely be ignored. This site is hear for you to learn something and then learn to fix things on your own. Not to get tech support.
Take this as a lesson as this post could have easily gotten you banned.
