Won't pick up Galaxy S5 if it is embedded battery - General Questions and Answers

Have been used my Google Nexus S I9020 for 2 years now. First year, I fumbled for OEM batteries every few days and since second year I have relied on an extended battery. There is always an option of getting a new battery for Samsung phone and that is one of the important reasons why I stick with Samsung phone.
Rumors said S5 introducing a new type of battery technology making it a fast charge system, but frankly, I won’t pick up S5 if it has embedded battery. I can’t accept that if its battery has any issue during the entire life of the phone, Iam not able to simply swap another new replacement myself.
We will have to wait and see anyway.

You can go for it now

yeah is a big plus having a phone with a battery you can swap everytime it has troubles i don't know why OEM's are stopping to make phones this way

[Q] What is the typical *total* lifetime of a battery (not just between charges)

I'm considering buying a phone with a non-replaceable battery. Although I am not worried about whether my phone will keep a charge all day, I am worried about whether the battery will stop holding a charge before I'm ready to replace the whole phone. My current phone (Galaxy S2) is two years old, but I've had to get a new battery twice (and so has my wife, so I don't think it's a fluke). I'd like to keep my new phone at least that long, but I'm worried about the battery being usable for more than a year or 18 months.
From the searching I did, I've noticed that most people around here don't seem very concerned about whether the battery is replaceable. I'm just wondering if that's because they are buying new phones more frequently or because the batteries don't go bad as quickly as I've been led to believe.

My android phone battery can usually use 1-2 years. No matter what I use it, it also can last use about use. May be the most important that I am lucky dog and bought the high quality phones.

[Q] my gt-i9507 will not use any battery apart from the one that came with it?

so heres the problem i have 5, yes 5 batteries the one in the phone an original samsung extra, the samsung battery from my gti-9505 and 3 different 3rd party batteries two with the "samsung chip" in them. none of these but the battery that came with the phone work, i have spoken with friends and tested there phones and the only phone in the S4 line with this issue is the gt-i9507. you don't even need the chipped batteries with the s4 gt-i9505. (not sure why). now i'm quite upset after paying the full fee for a replacement battery on the samsung website only to find that the phone has made its mind up that it will not accept 3rd party batteries or even for that matter samsung batteries provided by the official samsung store see. they have been extremely unhelpful. with the battery sent my s4 will not even power on, where as my friends s4 gt-i9505 boots first time every time. if anyone knows a way to force the phone to use the battery it would be very helpful
Tried all of that and charged each on in the phone for 48 hours + with 2 different wall chargers as well as a usb charger
Flashed a rom and boom fixed

[Q] How to Double Battey Life While S6 With Non-removable Battery?

I may stick with my G3 because of the bad news that S6 lost an option to replace battery, though the S6 does look great in my eyes. As for a non-removable phone, is there any ways to double the battery life since we cannot simply swap extended batteries? Will this kind of accessory do any good?

pretty simple.. buy a phone with removable battery.. S4, S5, Note4, etc. or stick with your S3 is also another option..

Of course wit will work.
Why do you even need something like that? I understand if you go on somewhere far away with no electricity, but why do you need it for daily usage?
Also it is not just about the hardware, if you optimize the software, you will get great battery usage time...
Just root your phone, uninstall all apps that you don't need and install greenify to make the apps sleep that you don't need running in background all the time. I use my HTC M7 like that and get 2 days on battery even though i stream music over bluetooth and use WhatsApp and 9gag very often...

Here is another option;
The Mophie Juice Pack uses a proprietary Impact Isolation System that works like an internal suspension to protect your handset, while at the same time it is making sure that your phone is powered up to handle all of the mobile tasks you need to get done. Mophie is part of Samsung's SMAPP program, consisting of the manufacturer's strategic partners. This means that only Mophie will be offering a battery charging case for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge when both phones launch on April 10th. The case for either device will be priced at $99.95 and will be available starting on that date from Mophie's online store, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Best Buy and other retailers.
I'm going to go out on a limb once my GS6 come
You can get a case with a built in extended battery, carry an external battery that you plug in once in a while, or get an external battery/wireless charger combo like one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Qi-infinity-Portable-compatible-including-receivers/dp/B00K8HG8YW
Each option has pros/cons, but hopefully one will work for you...

Minor, mid, or major upgrade?

I am currently running my S4 with root and Hyperdrive 21 and very happy with phone, minus some lag. I was running a Note 4 for a while, which was faster but just a tad too big to pack around.
Those of you who have made the leap to the S6, what are your honest evaluations? Minor, mid, or major upgrade? I have upgrades available on my plan and with my data plan and such it might even be a wash switching to verizons new Edge program or whatever it is.
My biggest concern is the battery. I have always had spare batteries and just popped on in when needed and hated Iphones due to non-removeable battery. Is this a non-issue?
Thanks,
Glenn

I was in the same situation. My wife and I had rooted MDK S4's and we went to the S6. For me it's a huge upgrade. I used to use a Zero Lemon 7500mah extended battery. That's the biggest issue for me. Now I just carry around a 10000mah Anker USB battery in my backpack.
For my wife, her battery life hasn't been an issue and she used to use a 3000mAH slim battery. I've found that to get the S6 to have good battery life you need to set it up as a new phone during the setup process. Do not restore from a backup during setup. There is some sort of corruption happening when restoring apps that is causing high cell standby, so I just install them manually from the play store. It's a PITA, but necessary.
Besides the possible battery issues, everything about the S6 is an upgrade. It's much faster loading games and such. Although, day to day operations feel relatively the same as my S4. The camera is AMAZING!!!
Sent from my SM-G920V using XDA Free mobile app
I came from the S3 so the upgrade was rather significant. The speed alone of the phone's new processor (and extra gig of RAM) are a very big improvement. The only issue for you will likely be battery life, don't expect it to be better than the S4. The upside is the phone charges very quickly with the supplied quick charger (using other charging devices won't quick charge).
I miss root and my unlocked bootloader but if Samsung will allow users to make themes, that will take some of the sting away. Hopefully we get root but I'm not banking on it.

Is Galaxy S6 still relevant in 2018 ??

Is s6 still relevant and how do you rate it in 2018??
can we get bigger battery (S7 battery ) ??
I was dissapointed about S6 battery and had for few days a brand new S7. In my usage pattern, both phones will last from 7am until 8pm so i think the answer to your question is yes, it's relevant.
If you're unhappy, you can swap battery with S7edge
I replaced the battery in my gf's S6, and will be adopting it soon. With a new battery, I'm happy about upgrading to it from my current LG G3.
I have S6 edge, charging every day and still with original battery, running custom ROM from day one. It is great device it is just boring after so many years
I had a Pixel 2 over Christmas and the plan was to sell my S6 but was never 100% happy with the change. The phone felt bigger despite having a smaller screen and the screen itself wasn't as good as the S6, imo. Luckily i could return it after Christmas.
Anyway what I'm saying is the S6 is still a great phone which I'll be sticking with until the new LG/Samsung phones are released and I'll go from there. As good as stock Android was the step up from the amazing S6 wasn't as big as i thought it would be, and there were some things i preferred on the S6.
Battery lasts a day easy for me. Can always top it up at work.
The camera on the Pixel 2 as amazing though.
Its still 2018
its 2018 and its still amazing phone and with s7 edge battery u cant find better phone for that price:laugh::silly:
its still awesome phone no lag at all
(99.9% lag free) the bad thing is the battery for me, I just need to replace it!)
