[Q] Is it possible to boot to recovery from download mode? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

OK, I have a GS3 here with a broken power button, which was causing all kinds of problems when the phone was running, and making it impossible for me to boot into recovery. I've physically removed the power button from the motherboard, and now I can boot the phone by holding volume down + home while plugging the phone into USB power. That gets me to Download mode, where I could just reboot to my ROM.
So that was fine, but I just made a booboo and when I was in recovery flashing a new ROM, I wiped Data instead of Dalvik, so now I have no ROM installed. I therefore have no way to reboot into recovery to fix the problem, the only thing I can boot to is Download mode.
So, is there a way to get to recovery mode from download mode? Some command in Odin or something? If not, I can still use Odin to flash it back to stock (pre-ML1 bootloader of course), re-root, flash a recovery, etc. but I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Answering my own question...
You can do this by booting in download mode (hold home and volume down while plugging in USB), then once you're in download mode, reboot (hit volume down button) and instantly hold down volume up and home. That gets you into recovery.

Stuck in Odin mode

When I hold the -vol and power on my 8013, instead of entering the recovery image, the tablet enters the Odin mode. And my 4.3 ROM quit booting. Is there a way to flash a ROM via Odin?

I solved my own problem, but I'm really disappointed by the lack of response I got from this forum. For any one else who runs into the problem, I apparently had an incompatible recovery image installed. I flashed the TWRP image and now when I hold vol up and power on, it enters the recovery image and I'm able to flash .zip files. I mistakenly thought the combination was vol down and power on, when, in fact, that is apparently supposed to be for the "download" mode.

Flash CWM Recovery from Odin

A while back I flashed my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with a SLIM Rom. I used Odin way back to do get what I needed. It has been a while since I loaded a custom rom, but maybe I am missing a step to get CWM loaded so I can load another custom rom. The following are the steps that I go through.
1. Power the device down
2. Boot the device into recovery mode (HOLD Power button + volume down). the screen says it is in ODIN Mode.
3. Plug in the USB
4. Fire up Odin
5. Load 'GT-P3113_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar' in the PDA field
6. Click Start
Then the device boots up normally and then loads like normal. How do I get it to boot CWM in the recovery mode?
Hold power + home + bolume up button to boot into recovery

[Tutorial] Get rid of bootloader exception error

Hello everyone. This might be tutorial of how to get to download mode, when you flashed something the wrong way and have Bootloader exception error.
Don't forget to stay calm! So, what you need to do?
1. Power on your phone (you will be stucked in bootloader exception screen)
2. Hold volume up + menu + power
a. If you have custom recovery (TWRP/CWM/idk...)
I. Find boot into download mode and done
b. If you don't have custom recovery (navigate via volume up, volume down, power buttons)
I. Find factory reset and wipe cache
II. Find reboot
3. Phone will be again stucked in bootloader exception
4. Normally, everyone will start to press volume down + home + power, but this will just loop the boortloader exception BUT, if you hold buttons long inought for the device to "reboot" 2 times, you should be brought into download mode.
5. If it does not work, just try again, again and again. You must be brought at least once into the download mode .
Hope this "guid/tutorial" will help you somehow.

Can't Boot to Download Mode Or Recovery

I've formatted the tab using latest twrp recovery after that I did a restart using recovery and it was taking long to boot back to recovery and force restarted it by holding power button.
Now I can't boot to reocovery or download mode by holding volume down + power button & up + power, it does boot into the usual Galaxy tab logo and then nothing.
If i hold the power button to long it's just boot back again to the tab logo.
When I put the charger to the device it just stuck on the battery logo.
I've also removed the back part and removed battery and tried again, But still same...
Also tried to flash the odin when it's stuck on galaxy logo, odin does recognize the connection but can't flash anything!
Is there any other way to boot back to download mode????
EDIT :
I did removed the back part of the tab to remove battery and try inserting, but still I was not able to boot to download or either recovery mode by hold power + volume buttons.
I think maybe the power button or the volume button has some issue that's why it was not able to boot into recovery/download mode.
After that I've drained the device battery and reconnected it to device charger and it automatically booted into download mode.
And flashed the stock rom then switched to a custom rom!
Problem solved for now, I'll update the thread later!

J510F Stock recovery screen after TWRP install [Fixed]

I'm using ODIN to install TWRP but after the install I'm still being put into the stock recovery screen, I have Auto Restart disabled under ODIN and I access recovery mode with power + vol up + home buttons and letting the power button go as soon as I see the logo but still holding onto the vol up + home button. This is done immediately after the ODIN install. I have tried multiple times leaving the Downloading Mode using power + vol down and entering recovery mode as well as removing my battery after the TWRP install and booting directly into recovery mode but all of them give me the stock recovery.
Re-flash Stock ROM to get rid off of all mods you applied. Then try again.
I haven't installed anything other than TWRP and if I do a normal boot the phone acts as if nothing ever happened, but I will try with a stock ROM install as well and check if it changes anything
I managed to root it for anyone with the same issue, the tutorial I was following seemed to have a faulty TWRP, the links on the official site work, the magisk method didn't work for me so I used the supersu method which worked perfectly.
