This is my first post since I need to appreciate the work from Entropy512, really appreciate your work!
I wanted to comment on the CM9 topic in the developer thread but I could not since I am a new user.
What I want to say is that after trying all camera apps, "Pudding Camera" is the only one which could turn on the flash while taking photos. I hope that it might help to all CM9 users and your development progress. I am using your GAPPS and 4/23 bulit.
I did try to use the torch apps, but none of them turns on the LED lighting.
Anyways, looking forward to your new updates!
Cheers,
Tim
same here. love the rom tho
Have you also tried following camera apps of playstore:-
1. Ucam
2. Camera ICS
3. Camera 360
thanks
Flash work also with:
Camera FV-5
Camera Pro
I saw it in different forums for other devices but not here on One S. Looking after it, I've found a version that is working on our devices and I've thought to put it here as well for others to enjoy.
Gallery version is 1.1.40012
Just to be sure... I don't take any credit for it, I just found it, tested if it's working and put the download link.
To install:
1. Download from below link and save it on your sdcard
2. Install using a file manager, I wasn't asked for root permisions and it was NOT installed in system/app (original camera/gallery app are preserved). A new Gallery and Camera apps will be shown
3. Enjoy
DOWNLOAD
What works and I've tested:
- take pictures on all res
- photo-sphere works
- panorama works (I've got though some garbled photos at the end)
- front camera works
- video recording works (both 720 and 1080)
- all settings work
Bugs: (I found only two by now)
- garbled photo for panorama's
- the small lower right circle/icon for popping up the settings is somehow cropped (part of it is shown little bit up) but this is related to the incorrect resizing of the app I believe.
Tested on MIUI V5 3.7.19 but I'm pretty sure it'll work on other ROMs as well
Working fine for me on rom stock, thank's
I had problems installing this app on paranoid.
The answer is easy :
If you have problems installing this you have to uninstall existing Galleryapp using Titanium Backup app first then install the APK.
Just in case someone wonders how's the quality of this camera, I've made some few tests and posted my findings HERE. (I was asked to compare this camera with MIUI's camera)
does the "burst" mode work?. Will it work on non-sense rom? Thanks.

It has very few options (maybe because it's not fully released???). I couldn't find a "burst mode". It doesn't have HDR as well.
It should work on non-sense ROMs since it's AOSP. I've tested on MIUI which is sense based but Daihogo said he tested it on Paranoid and that is a non-sense ROM.
Tested on CM10 HTC One S(s4), and no burst mode. Everything else works. Kind of "strange" set up, but could get used to it. The "no burst" is a deal breaker. Sadly, going back to sense rom. I hope that someone will "make" version with burst mode.
Been Using this for a while now and love it. the volume rocker works for taking snaps
Works great!
Too bad it doesn't place the pictures in the same map as the stock camera

The stock (sense) camera and AOSP camera always place the photos in different folders under DCIM. One places them in "camera" the other in "100media"
I saw someone else did an MD5 and this is the same camera from the SGS4 release a month or so ago. Still, it's an improvement if only for the fact that the stupid shutter button doesn't move when rotated anymore. I gladly will give up all the CM customizations for that alone.

I think that [ROM][4.2.2][A9][Unofficial] LiquidSmooth-JB-v2.9 (26/08/13) is the best ROM for our device ,trust me i have tried all custom ROM's available for our device , and finally this is it ! Reasons ?
It is smooth , fast , and light ,when i stop all uselles app i have over 200 MB Ram , it is good for gaming , i play games like CSR Racing ,Need For Speed Most Wanted , Blood and Glory 2,,Asphalt 8 and ohers , Swap SD compatible , Halo , and the most important thing for me is so battery friendly ,as i said i use to play games ,a lot ! and i have never had less than 1 day , with gaming, some wifi and 30 mins of calls.
[ROM][4.2.2][A9] Resurrection Remix® v4.0.6 PA.AOKP.CM (23/08/13) it is another good rom for our device but it is not so good for gaming .
@CristianCRS This Rom seems even to me pretty cool...but: photos taken whit stock camera app cannot be saved in external sd. Do you know if this thing can be fixed in someways?
Thank you so much.

Indeed i forgot about this ,for me it manifested in other way ,when i shoot a photo ,it takes a photo ,it saves it but i couldnt take another photo because the previous remained freezed on camera screen ,so i instaled titanium backup i unnistaled gallery ,and with this camera, and i installed a new one ,now i have snap camera with gallery because it have so much options ,but it will work any other camera app like Camera JB ,or Camera ICS, even Sphere Camera ,and Focal (great camera app but it seems that video recording is not working)
Thank you so much Cristian, I will try another camera app. Another issue: I have about 40 apps installed, most of them are greenyfied with geenify app. my free ram (even after cleaning all the apps running in background) is no more than 40-50 mb.

About this...until now i had no time to install so many apps like you ,usually i use just some strictly essential apps and games ,in total i think i have 23 apps and games installed ,i use swap sd ,and link sd ,i don't know if it will work for you ,but me after i use an app and i consider that i don't need it to run in backround ,i go to System Settings--> Apps---> and ALL tab ,i search the app ,click on it ,and then Force Close ,this methood i use on every process or program that is not neccesary to android system . And like this i have no problem with ram or unwanted battery drains.
Actually I'm using clean cm 10.1 alpha9 enhanched with TopDroid's Megaboost 1.4.
Greenyfied some apps and using SD Increase.
Not so customizable as other roms but, for now, the smoothest and faster ever.
Antutu 4 (last version) gave me 3959 as top score.
All apps working well
Free RAM always about 100/120 mb.
Battery with 3g alwys connected and medium phone usage lasts about 20hrs.
Cheers

Last night i decided to update to Clean CM 10.2 ,JB 4.3 ,and i think is the best ROM for now ! But the problem is that swap sd doesn't work ... for now ,maybe this will be fixed soon
Yeah, Ive upgraded to 10.2, too. Seems ok for now, just one issue: after replacing dsp and apollo with acid sounmod and walkman I noticed that walkman is not working. It gets open but doesn't play music files. Any solution? Maybe a walkman version for 4.3 is available? BTW great rom.
EDIT: reinstalled Apollo. I cannot find any walkman apk running on 4.3 for now.

I still not have 10 posts to reply on developer threads ,so How is working for you Focal Cam? especially video recording(for me is not working),and about walkman i don't use it so i can't help you ,sorry .
Focal crashed the first time I opened it, as like as the stock camera. At a second attempt they both worked well, so I'm gone for keeping the stock one and uninstalling focal. Dunno about video recording.
EDIT: at 480p is good, but at 720p it seems to watch a slideshow.

I unistalled Apollo ,for now i use GoneMAD Music Player ,it does his job :good: ,i saw recently a post about this ,and it seems that the cause is DSP Manager ... he unistalled DSP Manger and installed another one ,and everything was back to normal.
Hi. I am currently using Miui rom for Xperia J. I have a problem which I have seen on any other custom rom such as Touchwiz rom or CM10 rom. I have google the problem but I can't find any solution. I don't know if it a bugs for Cm based or what. When i install third party camera apps such as Camera360 or Cymera, my front camera will be upside down. But the camera that in the system can be used normally. I also have tried to fix the rotation of the camera360 but still facing that problem. Hope someone helps. Thanks in advance.
Edit: After trying a few camera app in google playstore finally i know only a few camera apps will be upside-down for the front camera. And so far i have to change my favorite camera apps because front camera of camera360 also will be upside down. I have seen this problem in other cm based rom too.
Helpp
None of the Xperia J user have this problem? If so, I'm afraid it is my phone problem then.

I think the app has the problem. I never use camera360 though. I use retrica. It works fine.

Thank you for your reply. But I'm afraid that all my third party camera apps are like that. The camera system is the only one that work. Other camera apps will be 180' when using front camera. Actually I'm having this problem when I use custom rom non then the Sony based. When I'm using Alienrom or Doomsday, I never have this problem.
Anyone know why I cant download a bunch of apps they say not compatible with my device im on stock ging 2.3.4 like five apps I use to have on my phone say this anything I can do to fix?

Go down to Additional Information for each app (if it doesn't show on mobile, revert to a computer) and find out what android version you need. Many require 4.0 these days (hence the coining of the term "ginger-death").
If sticking with this device, you may be ROM'ing after all. I would suggest starting with TBaldens CM 10.1. GimmeABreak also looks nice. If all you need is 4.0, then I would recommend CM9 (although I never used it, Sverhagens 9.1 version sounds more improved than the official).
Dam so this phone will be useless cuz most apps wont work I just kept it to for the camera had a baby so takes great pics and videos and awesome camera adjustment video settings any new roms that have the same settings?

To keep the HTC Sense camera, your options would be limited.
There is this:

...or Virtuous Infinity... http://rootzwiki.com/topic/30873-virtuous-infinity-v1330-alpha3-general/
None I've tested, may want to do your research on them to see which works best for you.
Alternatively, you can do what I've done, and install CM anyway, and use a third party camera app -> Ultra Camera (theres a few, but UCam has a free version). Works well. You can see if you like it by installing the camera app now (supports Android 2.2 and up) and trying it out, taking comparison shots. Note that you will have to tweak the settings a little...when I installed it, it took 6MP pictures, where I have since scaled it up to the proper 8MP.
Hope this helps.
