Return to stock - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey Guys
I have a telstra HTC one xl which is SOFF, unlocked bootloader and 2.15 firmware. I am currently running KickDroid XL v4.10 and am looking to sell my phone. I don't really want to sell a rooted phone so I would like to take it back to a stock Telstra rom. I have posted a pic of my bootloader details. I hope it attached as this is the first I have posted here because I normally work things out by reading lots of threads before I do anything to my phone. Please correct me if I am wrong but this is the way I think I should do it.
Change the CID back to Telstra and run this RUU - RUU_Evita_UL_Telstra_WWE_1.89.841.9_Radio_0.18c.32.09.01_10.93a.32.20L_release_266699_signed.exe.
The things I really don't know about are, if I did this, can I get the updates to get to 4.2. and can I RUU that old version without any problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
.
Looks like my pic didn't work.
First 4 lines of my bootloader
***UNLOCKED***
EVITA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-11111111
HBOOT-2.15.0000
RADIO-1.3a.32.45.16.2

You should follow these steps:
1. Run the RUU.
2. Change CID back to TELST001.
3. Relock the bootloader.
4. Change the phone back to s-on.
At this point you should be able to take updates to get back up to 4.2.2 again and sell the phone.

i wonder if i should try to get back S-ON (though i AM afraid of bricking my device)
and send my phone to htc for waranty purpose (it has a minor charging problem, when i plug in the cable, i have to make sure its at a right angle for it to charge, like its a bit loose)
my questions are:
1. HBOOT - how can i know which is "root-able" (s-off/on-switchable)
i heard/read that newer hboot are not "unlockable" at the moment? which one is the lastest hboot, and what is the lastet-rootable one?
2. i didnt write my CID down when i changedit to superCID the day i rooted my phone. i only know i had a germany vodafone soft-branded phone. is there a way to find out what CID i had at the beginning?
3. how can i put my device back to the state before i rooted my phone, by that i mean, i want to be able to get official OTA updates. or will this involve the "how to get back s-on guide" which is a bit risky as i have read that guide a couple of times.
i hope some1 can give me some answer or hint on how to find these things out. i just need to be directed to the right direction, and ill be thankfull and happy to continue my search on my own.
another question
4. what happens when i run the RUU (i have RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.45.401.2_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_208857_signed)
will this be a problem as i'm currently on hboot 1.23.0000? will it unroot my phone?
nevermind, im gonna try mikes ARHD and just updated my FW with Firmware from 3.24.401.1 & 3.25.401.101 RUU --- MD5 checksum: 4774D8928FB9D364F83CDDE16BAC4553 *PG58IMG.zip

If you flash an official ruu you will lose root. But you will remain soff. So you can install any custom ROM. Your root will depend on the rom only. as far as fast boot concern it may be locked during official ruu flashing. So will not be able to use some extended fast boot command like flashing radio from PC. But revolutionary hboot is unlocked. So no issue.

[Q] I need help, Cant update!

I rooted my HTC Sensation a few months ago and I could not get custom ROMS to go past there boot logo screens so I re-installed on carrier/factory ROM from a back up on the phones SD card. I originally wanted to do this to get JellyBean on my phone has HTC'S interface is a little ugly.
The problem is I want to install the latest system up date from my service provider but none of the RUU's I find for my Bell Mobility(Prymid_BM) phone are of the same version so it tells me I have the incorrect RUU, I want to install the system update but I cant because my phone is no longer stock. What els can I do to get my phone back to completely stock so carrier updates work forever and always.
My firmware version is 3.33 and all the BM RUU's i find are of and older version there for wont work
I have looked here for RUUs but there always to old:

I want my HTC Sensation on bell mobility to be completely stock so if you can help me please do so and give detailed answers so I'm not googling for hours like I already have been. What are my options, because as it stands right now services on my phone keep crashing and I have to keep telling it no don't report it to HTC, happens ALOT.

[Q] HTC One X (AT&T) HTCdev Unlock problems

My friend and I are having problems unlocking his HTC One X. we've tried various tutorials and followed many threads but have had no luck. We've tried the One_X_ATT_All_In_Kit_v2.1.1, Root-one-x and OneXRootOneClick with no luck. The bootloader will not unlock, we kept getting an error code 160 and MID not allowed. So no Unlock_Bin was generated. It has been upgraded to 4.1 via the AT&T update.
Bootloader screen reads:

If anybody can point us in the direction of where we can go to root the phone, that'd be great.
Try asking in the Evita forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
This forum is for the International version (Endevor)
I'm sorry about that, is there anyway a Mod can move this over to that forum? I don't want to create another thread for the same issue
Request sent.

Thanks Elvis.
Yea too bad we can't spoof the cid as before.

I believe, via the all in one toolkit, we were able to get the CID to change to 111111, but only after a few tries. I'll have to check back with him if it indeed did change.
So what you guys are saying, is unless somebody finds a way to crack JB, there is no way to unlock the bootloader/root?
Is it not possible to run the RUU that would place him back to the android and hboot he had before? (Don't know if it was ICS or what it was)

Can't run a ruu for older firmware without s-off.
But if you actually achieved supercid, you should be able to unlock, root, and s-off.
Are you positive about that? Because I was able to run an older RUU on my HTC Evo 3d, and got the phone to an older firmware without S-Off..
We'll have to check for sure on the CID and report back when we can.

Different phone. Newer ruu's check for hboot versions. Won't work on this one.

His profile says he is
Yeah, but still needed to check. Have you thought about re-unlocking your bootloader? It's been modified in the past which might have something to do with your update problem. If you unlock your bootloader you'll be able to install a custom recovery and then you can install whatever ROM you like. We have the stock Telstra Sense 5 Android 4.2.2 ROM in our development section. We also have a few other Sense 5 ROMs to choose from, ranging from stock to tweaked.

The thing is that it hasnt been messed with.I got the phone from a HTC rep that i know ... he had it in his draw for over six months ...I just wanted the stock update but maybe rooting might be the easier way
It definitely has been messed with, phones that are s-off and have SuperCID don't come out of the factory like that. Somewhere along the way someone has done those alterations to the device.
There is just one problem I've realised, your phone has a SuperCID of 11111111 which has been blocked by htcdev. You're s-off though so you can actually change that as many times as you like using fastboot. If you want to unlock your phone you'll need to change it to 22222222 using the following fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 22222222
You can then check the new CID by using this command:
Code:
fastboot oem readcid
Once that's done you can go to htcdev and go through with the unlock bootloader process.
In order to do the above process you will need to install adb/fastboot and HTC drivers.

No problem ... thanks for that ....I have rooted my one x before HTC_023 fairly basic but my mate swears that the phone came straight from HTC as a Tell us what you think before we send you more kind of thing .. Cheers for the info ...
Actually one more thing ... is it possible to do a RUU update with this to 4.2.2?
There is no RUU for 4.2.2, the only way is to run an earlier RUU and take OTA updates to get there. Since you can't get the OTA I guess that isn't an option though.

Within 30 minutes drive from me no doubt
Supercid and s-off from factory or not still means you are off the official path.
Things I might do:
fastboot oem writecid TELST001
Then try the OTA again
or
RUU back to 1.89.841.9 as a RUU exists for that, then ota forwards to 5.06.841.1
or
Unlock bootloader
Flash Turges 5.08 firmware zip and then take one of the Sense 5 ROMs. There is a stock Telstra ROM even.
PS nag the HTC rep for a more recent RUU, eg 2.40.841.4, 3.17.841.2, 3.17.841.9 or 5.06.841.1 and share with us

He has s-off does he need a token or even need to unlock at all?
I have often wondered the same thing, but I've been assuming that in order to flash TWRP recovery you need an unlocked bootloader.
It's nice to see a few Aussies on here by the way, I'm in Melbourne myself.

[Q] HTC One - Return to stock Help!

Hi All,
I'm a novice when it comes to Android so I really need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance to all contributions.
So I had a HTC One that was on firmware 4.2.2 Maximus HD firmware, rooted, and bootloader unlocked.
I attempted to return it back to the same state as it was when I first got the phone.
The phone was from O2 UK originally.
I attempted to follow some guides online, and managed to unroot my phone, and lock my bootloader, and using this RUU
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4
I managed to return to stock... only problem is,I then attempted to get an OTA update and nothing showed up
I then read somewhere that I needed to change my CID which I then changed from HTC__001 to O2___001
but still no luck, no OTA detected.
I then found something online called Guru resets from htc1guru.com so I unlocked my bootloader again.
As it stands, the bootloader is showing this information:
**** Unlocked ****
M7_UL PVT Ship S-OFF RH
CID-02___001
HBOOT-1.43.0000
Radio-4A.13.3227.06
OpenDSP-v.26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot

After unlocking the bootloader, I came to the realisation that I have no idea what im doing
So I decided to come here. Please help me...
