ok heres my issue i want to mack a backup of my recovery but when i open boot loaded it shows i have CWM but it keeps telling me this
"E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log"
i have done some searching as to the problem but cant find much help. my phone is sgs3 by sprint SPH-L710, i have done the clockworkmod, and watching QBKing77's video tutorial on youtube. my sgs3 has been updated to 4.3 with KNOX i have never checked marked KNOX in my settings and it did have a check when i first found it... any help would be great. i just replaced this sgs3 4 days ago due to a bad rom install with no backup which "hard bricked" my previous sgs3... i cant afford the 150$ deductable again.. please and thank you in advance. thanks for your time..
P.S.
yes im a noob but i learn fast

first of all let me say hi. ive been the proud new owner of a nexus s for 1 week. using the forums here, i was able to successfully root my nexus and have been playing around with custom roms for a few days now. big thanks there. NOW, im hoping you guys can sort me out once again.
this morning i ran into a little problem. Long story short...im able to get into clockwork recovery 3, but from here i get.
E:cant find misc
E:failed to find "cache" partition to mount at "/cache"
E:cant mount /cache/recovery/command
E:cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E:cant open /cache/recovery/log
and so on...now everything i try fails...
factory reset
install from sdcard
nandroid restore
what to do?
not sure if this helps, but i AM able to mount the USB storage, as well as /system, and /data.
please help..
Hey, i almost bricked my device, after a radio flash i had these lines in recovery
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Now, i restored a nandroid backup and the phone switched on !! Checked the radio, it was the new one. I wanna know where i can download ADB from, and how i can get a dumb like the guy gets in this thread's step 8 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150917
This is so i can check my phone
I had the same errors. The problem was overheating (I had it charging while before) So I would reccomend to frst fully charge, then let it cool down for a 10 minutes or so, and then S-OFF/root/flash ROM.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App

Shouldn't be much of a problem to find what you need. The XDA-forum also has some very usefull guides regarding the subject

I have been using my desire s with cm9 alpha builds and recently flashed the latest version.
my phone froze so i rebooted but it jsut kept looping, i went into recovery and tried to re install thr rom.
however i get the following errors in recovery:
cant mount /cache/recovery/command
cant mount /cache/recovery/log
cant open /cache/recovry/log
cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
cant open /cache/recovery/last_log
the loading bar just stopps and nothing happens if i try to:
install rom
factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
so i currently have a completely useless phone and im not saure how to fix it!
somebody please please help me!
i think you didn't seen the BIG INDEX on the development area?
FRIED eMMC CHIP?
I've not tried any of these actions myself as I haven't yet experienced this issue, I'd recommend that great care should be taken before following any of the advice given, I suggest that you at least read and attempt to understand first, if you don't understand then create a new post detailing your own issue and experiences so that others can assist you and point you in the right direction.
The errors below don't necessarily mean that you've a fried eMMC chip, so don't panic just yet. Many users have experienced the exact errors below and have gone on to simply resolve the issue and use their devices again normally.
Code:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

Hi guys,
Had a thread open on modaco for this issue but had no joy. I'm having exactly the same issues as the thread starter in the link below, you guys have helped me before and wondered if you had any suggestions on a way forward?
http://www.modaco.com/topic/358071-phone-near-bricked-help-needed/
Basically I've had ics updated on the phone with the boot loader unlocked and of course the phone rooted. The update went through fine and I've been using the phone for a couple of days until it crashed and stuck on the splash screen since then it will only go into recovery mode with the following errors:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Have tried wiping cache, formatting cache and numerous other things as per the thread on modaco but no joy. I've literally had the phone a few days and think it's unlikely to be a hardware fault unless it's exactly the same as the OP had.
Willing to try anything!
Thanks
I flashed my ubislate 7c+ edge with the wrong recovery, and i believe it wiped all partitions.I have already tried every possible method found in any nook and corner of the internet.
I'm stuck in cwm recovery loop, it will boot to nothing but cwm recovery.
LiveSuite isnt working, i have like 4-5 images out of which atleast ONE of them must be the correct firmware(all of these i found on xda and the internet which was said that it would work) BUT none work since partitions are gone...
recovery says like cant mount system
cant mount emmc.... etc
Pheonix card doesnt work either, shows sprite error
I can make neither head nor tail of it.
Can anyone show me a way with which i could manually fix this tablet by either writing the partitions manually somehow or doing some magic trick(lol)? Please enlighten me.:crying::crying::crying:

Edit : Hot news !!
After months of pure hopelessness ! I opened my back cover(for the 3rd time), moved the sticker and noted the board number(pcb number i guess?).
A sticker was covering it from being seen lol ! I noted it and googled the number.Found 3 firmwares for it. The first showed nothing in livesuit 1.07. Went till 3% and nothing happened. In livesuit 1.11 it showed x162 error(for a gazillionth time).I was hanging on the edge now. Had downloaded only 2 firmwares.
Tried the 2nd one and boom ! it went past 4% and i watched with glee as upgrade succeeded!! So my partition was wiped, but this managed to rewrite it.(Pats myself).
No datawind logo on boot. Everything works perfectly.
Link to working rom.I'll never try to upgrade this thing again lol .

Dude. You need to flash ROM via livesuit. Nothing else will work I promise.
Unzip that file and you will find the image to flash.
Good luck.
