Bluetooth car integration voice dial... - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a Moto G and I would like to use it with my Audi A3 bluetooth kit (This is a kit that I rewired from another car to work with mine, nothing too complicated). It includes a single button on the dash that should answer calls, end calls, voice dial and redial last number (long press).
This worked great with my iPhone 4, not so well with my Moto G. The system answers incoming calls, redails and ends calls. But I cannot get the voice dial working very well.
I have tried using bluetooth launch to point at specific voice dialling applications, but it cannot work from the lockscreen. Also, the stock voice dialler is flaky at best, and requires google now to be open on the phone.
Any suggestions welcome please...
Thanks,
Rich

Same issue with my moto x and my jvc bluetooth deck.
With 4.2.2 Jellybean it worked flawlessly.
Updated to 4.4.2 last night and now I get a "not supoorted" error on the deck when I try to initiate voice dialing.

A similar problem with my XT1033 on android 4.4.2 and Toyota Prius '05. When a call sends from the car's native bluetooth kit, works fine. But when dialing on the phone or get an incoming call, the car system doesn't recognize that the call have started.

[Q] Bluetooth for Car Hands Free Calling

I have a Standard Tesco 16GB Moto G, and a Vauxhall Insignia with Factory fitted bluetooth for hands free use.
The Moto G pairs fine, but functionality is limited. Missing are:
Use of the steering wheel/dashboard controls
No phone book entries
No call lists
Call lists are generated when using the phone in the car, but are lost when bluetooth is disconnected.
Audio is fine over the car speakers, and radio is muted etc.
I have to start, end and accept calls using the handset.
I am never asked the question after pairing that the car wants access to my phone book & call history.
My previous Orange San Diego worked flawlessly in all respects with the car.
I've searched and found many other instances where there are similar problems with most Nexus, and many HTC & Samsung devices. The workarounds vary, but none have worked for me so far.
Anyone cracked it for the Moto G?
The other threads imply it's an Android thing rather than device specific, so might I be waiting for KitKat?
Don't have too much hope, as the older threads were hoping Jelly Bean would fix it, but never did.
Any update on this? I have similar problems although after re-pairing a few times I at least can answer a call with steering wheel controls but cannot hang up one?
I also have this exact same problem with a Vauxhall Astra and would be keen for an answer on how to fix this.
(I have a colleague with a Kia and his phone connects and can be used perfectly so maybe it's a Vauxhall problem?)
Update:
After unpairing and connecting again it seems fine now most of the time. Although sometimes my car will be able to see the phone call history and sometimes not.

Hi,
I have almost the same issue, with a Vauxhall Astra '12:
- I can call someone using bluetooth, works but I can not end the call
- If someone calls me, it's mostly displayed on the screen -> I can answer, but then the audio doesn't work so I need to phone by hand..
- I manage to get into the phone book & see numbers, but can not dial them
This worked fine on my previous S3 mini & on some older (non-smartphone) phones.
Update
After repeated pairing and deleting the pairing I was finally asked by the phone if the car could have access to my phonebook etc and so I said yes (don't forget to tick the don't ask again box!)
The phonebook now appeared in the car, but I couldn't select one and successfully dial it - only from the phone itself. No Call lists.
If I made, or received a call whist connected, I got full functionality via the console and steering wheel controls afterwards, in fact everything perfect.
As a workaround, once the phone has paired with the car I either dial myself or 0000 (from the Handset), and after a minute or so, the call lists load and I get full functionality.
If I turn off the ignition, then I have to start from scratch i.e. dial 0000 or anything.
So a partial cure, but still a pain.
I am following a thread from a developer who offers a Bluetooth phone book transfer App, but unfortunately it doesn't work with the Moto G yet. He has now bought himself a Moto G so hopefully he will crack it. If and when he does, there will be £1.19 of mine winging his way i can tell you!
I can't post a link to this but search for android rsap and look under Motorola phones in his forum.
Good luck guys.
got the same problem here, was reading older modded roms work, anyone tried a rom that works ?
This sounds like the problem is with the car's bluetooth kit, because my Moto G works flawlessly with the Parrot kit in my Mondeo.

[Q] Bluetooth Voice Command prompts not loud enough / Nexus 5 and Pioneer CD-BTB200

Hey,
I am having trouble with my Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Adapter, which is a common problem, according to the very few available threads on the internet.
This also didn't work with any other Smartphone before i.e. Samsung S3 or Blackberry Bold 9700.
Cliffnotes:
-pairing, media streaming (different source) and receiving and making calls works great! No issues there
-transfering the contact list results in a big mess, I have to dig in there if I can figure it out or if I just transfer one contact after another....
-now for the problem.......I installed Cyberon Voice Commander because it gives me the best behaviour and voice recognition since I am a native German speaker. Google, Dragon and AIVC don't work really well. But it doesn't matter which voice assist app I use, because it is the Bluetooth adapters fault. The Nexus 5 is rooted and runs stock Kernel with KitKat 4.4.2.
When I press the voice dial button on my Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD deck it activates the Cyberon Voice Commander app (or whichever is set as default). so far so good, that is what I want.
But! the dialog between me and the phone is almost impossible because the output volume over the car speakers is way to low. I have to literally pick up the phone and look at it's display to see what the voice commanding app is doing because you have to wait until it is finished asking what I want to do. (just holding a phone is illegal in Germany)
Assuming the app understood me right and starts dialing everything turns to be fine from that point because the volume of the actual call is perfect!
When the phone talks back to me I have to crank the volume all the way up to understand it a little bit and then turn it back down fast before the phone call starts or it'll blow the speakers out....since my car is quite loud when on temperature I don't think I will understand anything when I am driving.
I heard that the app TASKER could be programmed to raise the Bluetooth volume at a certain point and then lower it again. I checked but it only goes up to 15, which I already have set before with the stock volume slider. Additionally I have no idea how to configure Tasker to (maybe) get rid of the problem.
Has anyone ever heard of a similar problem and / or has an idea how to handle it?
Again, it's only the voice command prompts that are way to quiet when I start the voice dialing function via Bluetooth, everything else is fine.
Fixed the issue with SoundAbout!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix&hl=de
Now the voice prompts play loud and clear over the car speakers! Every other volume managing app failed miserably!
I used the latest Beta Version btw, going to buy the Pro Version soon.

I did very little changes to the settings, if anyone is interested I can hook you up with some screenshots

I have this issue as well. SO what did you have to do with this app?

Bluetooth calls not working in Marshmallow

I just flashed the OTA update for Android 6.0 last week on my Nexus 5 and I noticed that with the new update, phone calls no longer get routed through Bluetooth on my Mazda3. It is able to pair fine with the car and can stream music through Bluetooth, but calls do not go through.
Here is what happens:
When I place a call, the audio automatically gets routed back to the phone. If the other person picks up, calls will continue going through the phone speaker unless I manually select route through Bluetooth. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, but it does get frustrating trying this workaround especially while driving.
I tried unpairing and re-pairing bluetooth with the car, cleared the data and cache of the Bluetooth app on the phone, and even tried a factory reset, but the problem still persists. Anybody else run into the same issue and found any possible fixes?
For the record, when I did this with Lollipop 5.1.1, it worked without a hitch.
Thanks!
I am having a similar problem trying to connect my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 to my JVC car stereo. It continually complains of an invalid key, albeit both phone and car head unit show the correct key.
I am unable to make a bluetooth connection at all with the stereo. I had no issue with my Nexus when it was running 5.1, and my iPhone 5 continues to pair with the stereo.
I had this issue on the last preview but haven't seen it yet on final 6.0. For either regular calls or Hangouts calls.
I just rolled back to 5.1.1 and Bluetooth calls work fine with the car now. So it appears that it is a problem that is resident in 6.0.
Same here, but a little different: It pairs and when I start a call from the menu it goes down but the call is still up on the phone. When the other person picks up the call is re-routed to the car speakers... very strange behaviour!
Same behavior as what you are seeing when paired to a '15 Accord but works fine on a '14 Camry.
im at 6.0.1 and has the same problem, streaming music through bluetooth is ok but no voice call...
Any news on this? My wife's nexus has same problem. Nexus 5 with Android 6.0.1. compiling version M4B30Z.
I read on a different site to disable wireless scanning in location. Just tied that and have been able to make and receive calls from the car. Will be interesting to see if it continues to work.

Bluetooth redirect question

I am trying to set up my watch and have looked around everywhere and only getting a couple of dead end results. I am hoping someone has a solution or work around for what seems like a basic problem. I have the s3 frontier and it is connected via bluetooth to lgv20 and the lgv20 is connected via bluetooth to plantronics voyager legend headset. My goal is to quick dial a contact from the watch and it be routed over to the earpiece seamlessly. Right now when i try to swap the call the only options available are phone and dial pad, the third (bluetooth headset) is greyed out. If i swap to the phone obviously the call plays over phone and i need to manually make the change to plantronics from the status bar. Ofcourse all this changes after the call and reverts back and defeats the point anyway if im pulling out the phone in the first place. I have tried disabling the call profile from the s3 but that disables my ability to make the call in the first place, which is not an option. I tried third party apps to reroute the call and "soundaround" worked once, once. Any options or theories would be very much appreciated, this is like the core reason i got this thing and cant believe it would be such a hassle.
I also have the SAME PROBLEM and I also would appreciate any help...
In my case I have an OnePlus 3T + Gear S3 Frontier. I have used several BT headsets with same "bad" result.
Thanks in advance...
I have a Huawei P9 Plus + Gear S3 Frontier + Plantronics M55...... and SAME PROBLEM, i can enable "call profile" on S3 or Headset but not both.
When I connect S3 and headphones to a mobile samsung the "call profile" can be enabled on both, I tried it with samsung KZoom, and all works fine !!!
I wrote the assistance Samsung ... I hope he has a solution because the problem occurs with all bluetooth headsets, including the car's hands-free !!!

Dasaita - PX5 Octa-Core 4G RAM 32GB

Hello everyone,
Here I have a problem with the new multimedia system from Dasaita on my Auris 2018.
When I press the voice recognition button already the voice (not secret story) does not finish the sentence for all that one answers me.
Then when I finish dictation my SMS it tells me do you want to send it or modify it, I say send and it responds very well and then it replies the message was not sent.
For Appeal it's the same, he says Call to court and nothing happens.
Do you have any idea (s) about this ???
My Multimedia device is sharing a connection with the mobile data of my smartphone with also Bluetooth.
Car radio support 3G / 4G
Should I put a sim card on a 4g key via USB?
If I do this will it not be the same number on my phone?
So here, I test to make a call via on the car radio, leaving the bluetooth and nothing happens.
Same for sms directly on the car radio by typing it with his keyboard and nothing either.
To find out more here is the model of my car radio in CANBUS version that I installed in the car.
Emails work well voice mode and send well
I have this problem of sms and call in voice mode
By cons if I say ok google the smartphone picks up and sends sms it does very well as well as calls.
Another thing my car radio is apparently rooted and not certified by google play protect.
On the scrolling panel on a slide from top to bottom there is the icon for data and it does not indicate a sim card.
I can't put a photo or anything because it's my first message on this site and XDA forbids it
My bluetooth between the smartphone and the car radio is well connected in addition to the car radio, the bluetooth icon disappears as soon as it no longer has it.
I reset the car radio twice on the reset button on the front.
When my phone rings, the call is well deported to the car radio and I can go up and down the volume as well as off and on the hook via the steering wheel controls.
I see my contacts on the car radio. My phone OPPO Reno 2z is in colors os 7 overlay with android 10 and android 9 car radio can it make mistakes ???
I'm completely lost. I will try a hard reset via the android menu on the car radio.
Thank you for your answers.

Hello everyone,
Following my problem with my car radio,
When someone calls me on my smartphone, the call goes through the car radio with the caller's number and I pick up by the button on the steering wheel.
So why can't I call or send SMS via google assistant.
I did a hard reset and nothing changes. in the contact application there are all my correspondents but the Call, SMS and video buttons are grayed out.
I know that my car radio is rooted and I wonder if it will not come from that by specifying that I received it already rooted.
Thank you for your answers
cordially
