I downgraded my TFT101 to WW_epad-user-9.2.1.11 in order to root it and update it after that.
It allways worked for me, this is not the first time i do it, but the problem is now that i'm not seeing OTA updates.
What can i do? I've already done factory reset a couple times and forced closed and delete data of CMClient and DMClient but it isn't working.
What can i do???
Well let me play de guessing game .
I think sometimes it has been told that Asus kind of controls every update sent to every tablet. So maybe they could have your tablet listed as updated and so you are not receiving OTA. I don't know if it is that way, just guessing.
Anyway you can DL your desired update from asus web, put it on a SD and manually update your TF. On the same page you have the download you have a PDF that explains how to do it

make a little bit of sense... since my whole story is:
i saw the newest OTA yesterday and i tried to install it but it got stuck because the tablet wasn't plugged in to AC.
After that i didn't receive anymore OTAs so that's why i downgraded thinkin that would solve it...
But if ASUS controls every update how could i've done this same process without problems in the past?
Should I bother updating?
Does Chrome finally work as it should?
Yes after one day testing ...

So far so good after 3 hours.
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using XDA Free mobile app
There has been a marked increase in stability and responsiveness for me.
And battery life in standby seems better as well (so far)!

allright. So I'll pull the plunge on this one.
TWRP and the regular update process don't seem to work. So square one from what it seems

I updated with theOTA from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/android-5-1-t3115536 just download the ota and supersu from that link and flash the OTA first then supersu and your done. I didnt even lose recovery after i flashed these!
Oh yeah and I used google sheets and docs for 4 hours this morning without a single freeze or crash normally i would've had at least 10 during that time. So yes its def. worth it.
So far.... I installed about 3 hours after release, it's much much smoother. Only once have I gotten the "what the frig is this thing doing" hang and sputter, while installing busy box. Colors are great. It's like flashing a new screen. Xposed super alpha for 5.1 working. Gravity box works, flat style colored bars works.
Now just waiting for custom kernels....
Depends. Update 3.0 has these issues:
1- Apps optimization on every reboot. (rebooting takes 5 or more minutes)
2- USB OTG not working (tried usb flash drives and nothing)
3- Controller not turning off when button pressed (by design)
I was on 5.0.1 rooted, I wiped everything, flashed 5.1 and rooted again, if you are wondering.

Something may have gone wrong. I've only had the optimization come up if I clear cache or install apps via recovery so far... And I've been trying to get it to crash at reboot....
Judging from the responses in this thread, it looks like it's finally time for me to unlock my bootloader and update from 4.4. Wish me luck, guys!

I've had it come up on several reboots. Many people report it too on the official Nvidia forums.
But the USB OTG thing did it, Im staying on 2.2.1 until a hotfix is released.
I stand corrected, =x I have 2 apps optimizing at boot.
No problems here
I installed ota 3.0 from twrp after wiping everything including internal memory and I have no problems....
No app optimizations after every reboot or havent encountered any lags or sound glitches + wifi performance is much better and no issues with hdmi or usb otg either, played half life 2 for like 2.5 hours straight and had no issues even for a second...
Don't now what happened with the people who are having problems with this update. I have 32gb lte version and the tab performance is perfect now, for me atleast.
So i would suggest wiping everything except external sdcard and flashing full rom + latest supersu
USB OTG is working for me. I can use my 8GB drive.
I also have the Apps optimizing at every boot bug. 189 of them nonetheless... So the wait is huge.
Full OTA dirty flash over previous 2.2.1, dalvik/cache wipe. I hope for a fix soon.
Wipe everything then install full rom, i am pretty sure u wont get apps optimizing every boot. For me after the update the boot cycles are the fastest yet and I also do have around 180 apps...

I wiped everything except internal and external storage, I rooted and I still had the optimizing apps every reboot. And not just 2 or 3 apps, all of them.

Well the only difference now is i wiped internal storage too and i have no idea if this helps but i have selinux mode set to permissive, if this doesnt work then i guess i am one of the lucky ones...
I also found that the speakers has a screeching irritating sounds when playing media on my wifi version.
Anybody else having the same problem?
Since the stagefright patch, I've been unable to connect with all of my BT devices automatically when leaving the BT radio on. This includes my car and my Android wear devices. I always have to cycle the BT radio on and off now. Anyone else have this issue and a potential fix? Tia.
Bump. Also finding that the BT just disconnects after being on for a while. Almost like it went to sleep. Also, trying to connect manually by selecting the device doesn't work as it just gives me a unable to connect message.
I'm at wits end and can only think of trying to hard reset at this point. Any ideas would be appreciated.

did you flash the full stagefirght patch?
if so you can simply flash the patch from VZW that has the 1 vulnerability left..
Flash the attachment.zip in recovery.

If that doesn't work and it is the Stagefright Patch... the latest OTA was 4.17.605.9 (which patched Stagefright - as you already know) coming from 4.17.605.5, if it worked on 4.17.605.5 here is the stagefright.so library from that base... Should fix it for you.
I am uploading 3 files:
1 - with just the stagefright.so library
2 - with all the stagefright libraries - all may be needed and not just the one
3 - bringing you back to where you are now.
Test 1
Test 2
Back2Stock
Flash via Recovery
Thanks. A hard reset fixed it.
Kind of annoying that the last two OTAs I've had to hard reset to get the phone working normally.

I did the full RUU , and had no issues, then I flashed the incremental firmware updates, and after that it was all wonky where I am not able to connect in my car unless i power cycle the BT.. I am going to try a few of the fixes Andy has, then going to RUU the latest firmware and see what happens.
Hopefully it works. Full wipe and redoing everything is always annoying!
I poked Mo on twitter about this but he didn't respond. I figure VZW messed something up along the way.

Actually it did not work I flashed the back2stock then I RUU the firmware here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347811415
Did not resolve. I was thinking of running dotdat's RUU, but found a TWRP from when it worked fine and just wiped and used that. I deleted the BT profile for my car, re-paired and then turned the car off, rebooted the device with BT on and after I started my car, the BT connected like a champ!
I would really like to know wtf caused that issue, it was so annoying. I as always appreciate anyone's input and feedback, suggestions, etc on such matters. I will go hit the thanks button even if it did not work as you all take the time to assist and try to understand things.
I will report back if it fails or not
Best Regards

This did not resolve this issue. this reared its ugly head again after once again doing the full all in one firmware upgrade again
Is anyone else having this issue still?
Mine is doing this again too after a full wipe. Not sure what to do at this point.
Hey guys! So I buyed the Honor 8 2 days ago and it never goes to sleep.
Android OS is the highest culprit.
Anyway to fix this?
My phone has no Root it is completly stock.
I also had a similar experience with the phone, Android OS was making it run hot
If i were you i would probably force-upgrade to another version using the dload method....you never know what can go wrong with the preinstalled rom....or you can check if you can upgrade to a newer version

Before going there....try a few things: set power plan to smart, descease the resolution, click the gear icon and the select for wifi and data to stay off when you screen is off, have 0 protected apps , also open the device management to see what else you need to adjust like screen brightness, auto-rotate etc

@Christopher876 suggested to me an app called ForceDoze which i think it helps even further. If you still have issues you can try this method to upgrade to Nougat (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69885525&postcount=11) then downgrade to the marshmallow firmare you want....Unfortunately i don't know if you can skip to upgrading to Nougat first but if you don't mind the trouble. Here is what i did: (thanks to @Sheldd for so kindly explaining to me in pm)
Code:
Hello, so look, first, i have Honor 8 FRD-L09 (European model with 32gb) and to downgrade from Beta Nougat B320 to Marshmallow B131 i've done this: *ALL OF YOUR DATA WILL BE LOST
1-Download this: (download the one suitable for your model)
2-Download this: (same as number 1)
3-Format your SD CARD.
4-Unzip the "dload" folder from the first zip you downloaded (ROLLBACK PACKAGE) and copy on the SD CARD. *THE SD CARD NEED TO BE EMPY,ONLY THE DLOAD FOLDER NEED TO BE THERE
5-Turn off your phone.
6-Press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power button. Now he will downgrade to B300
7-Unzipe the "dload" folder from the second zip (ANDROID B131) and copy on the SD CARD.
8-Press and hold Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power button. Now he will downgrade to B131 and will reset your phone
Thats all, anyway, if you want to be sure everything is fine you can do a factory reset
*Note you have to download the correct files for your model whether FRD-L09, L04 etc..., your data will be lost when downgrading, you have to wipe your SD card (it is a must to created the folder in the SD card)
If anyone else has a better way please share it
Use app called greenify
Update to the latest OTA, and factory reset

Thanks, the problem persists even after the factory reset.
I wanted to follow the instructions given to me to upgrade to nougat then downgrade but dont understand.
I have the US variant.
I had a similar experience over the past couple of days in nougat 320 (it was fine before), I googled a bit and found that Google backup may be the culprit. I turned it off and then back on again later, and so far for the past 20 mins my battery is still at 100%.
Battery life is quite subjective. If you use your device all the time to check social media, play games, and consume media. Then you aren't gonna get a whole day's worth of battery from it.

The problem isn't the time I use it.
The problem is a stanby battery drain by the AndroidOS, my device isn't entering Deep Sleep and is always active, making stanby-time decrease.

Maybe if you attach some files similar to the ones I'm attaching, we can actually see something. Otherwise, Android System and Kernel are always (almost always) the two highest listed by CPU, which means almost nothing because every app that does anything at all has to use the API which uses Android System, .. and kernel.
Here are my attachments where Android System & Kernel are highest and yet in 16 hours, they've used < 20 minutes of time. Cpu deep sleep is at 80+ % averaged over the 16 hours. By the way, I'm on Nougat, but it was actually a bit better as shipped with Marshmallow.

Do you have any social media apps running in the background? As those often drain the battery as they are always connected to their company's respective servers.
Hey, XDA-ers!
I got the Android Nougat 7.0 update for my Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930FD (DUOS) back in January if I remember correctly. And the update process went like how it normally does. But ever since I got the Nougat update, my phone restarts randomly for no reason. At first it used to restart when I click on the 'Recent Apps' button to switch between apps. When I tap on the button, the phone vibrates and restarts. The phone never over heated before this happens. During this, the phone used to restart 2-3 times a day. This went on for 2 months. Then now, the number of restarts reduced to 1-2 per day, but the problem still persists. And now, it restarts even when I don't touch the 'Recent Apps' button. So, if any of you has had a similar experience or if any of you could help me out Please share it here. It would be GREAT!
Also just one more thing- Any of you seen any DRASTIC or worse changes in battery life of your Galaxy S7 after the Android Nougat 7.0 update? Please share your thoughts here and do suggest how you solved the problem. (My battery drains so fast that I sometimes charge it twice a day. I don't even use my phone for half of the day because I'll be at school and still the battery drain is bad! )
Factory reset. Backup your data via kies and then reset it.
Change your battery

Why dont you try to reflash your firmware via odin.

Possibly. I can vouch for it being fixed on DQCF onwards, which is newer than DQC4. The temporary fix seems to be to use as little RAM as possible(try to cut down on background apps until the next update). That firmware isn't terribly old though. I would actually agree with trying a reflash first.

I think it is also possible to reinstall the same firmware with Smart Switch from the menu "Emergency Software Recovery and Initialisation". It's like Odin but much simpler especially for beginners. As for me, I am still in DQBO and I await the update DQD7 which is beginning to be deployed in some countries. If this is not going to solve the problem, I will try to reinstall the fimware with Smart Switch. What do you think ?

If it's restarting due to the firmware bug then DQD7 will most definitely fix it. Beware of the emergency recovery though. Ive not used Smart Switch but the "initialization" part sounds like it would wipe the device, though that could fix any issues. Backup first, if you can.
