The may be a write problem with the cache. Does the tab works fine in normal usage?
Alternatively, you could root it and flash CM Recovery, and then try wiping cache. If it works good, otherwise its a failing hardware.
用odin3重新刷一遍recovery,一切难题迎刃而解。和楼上解法差不多。先root再用固件管家刷第三方clockworkmod。
(英语不好没法输英文抱歉。(
I had the same issue after the 4.2.2 update. I was going to wipe it because the Tab was real laggy. I got the same error. Mine is a gt-p3113.

I don't think it's a hardware problem. Try installing a custom recovery and then wiping cache. A good process should be like this:
1. Root device
2. Install Custom Recovery (CWM or PHILZZ)
3. try to wipe cache
Once you have rooted and have installed custom recovery, you may also like to try out new roms.
I would suggest not rooting if you have warranty left. If you have, best option is to send it in warranty and ask them to try wiping cache.

My tab still in warranty but I'm willing to trying every solution cause warranty will simply will reset factory sittings and they will say it's fixed and come to get it. But in the same time I don't want to lose the warranty.

Yeah, that's basically what I am thinking. I only have until February when my warranty runs out, then I may do the root and mod deal.

I did a downgrade to JB 4.1.2 but the tab stuck at samsung animation boot screen but I did manged to enter recovery mode and do a wipe cache partition and restart to know if it gone boot but it did stuck at samsung animation screen than I used odin to but it back to 4.2.2 and it worked fine with no restart for the first 24 hour but it did restart once while I'm using it in the half of the second day and two while I'm recharging it at the end of second day.
And here we are at the third day with no restart for about 15 hour since the last restart.
I hope it's the end for this problem.

Hello everybody, when i enter the stock recovery (non rooted phone, runing stock firmware) when i select the cache partition the phone is showing that the cache partition is beeing deleted but suddenly the phone reboots and nothing is cleared, if i select the wipe data it works. Is this a bug of 4.4.2? and is there any solution, because i don't want to unlock my phone for root and a custom recovery.

[HELP] Need urgent help with avoiding a data wipe...

Basically, my wife's phone was constantly rebooting. I had heard of power button issues so I tried to open the phone to fix that. After fiddling around with the button the problem persisted. I read somewhere that wiping the cache would help so I prepared to do that.
As I was waiting for the cache to wipe... the phone reboot again. It now does not boot (sits on the boot screen after the Google logo goes away) and says invalid argument when I try to wipe the cache.
According to this post, flashing the cache.img will fix the corrupt cache and allow me to wipe it.
Unfortunately my wife's phone has not been backed up, nor has the bootloader been unlocked. Is there ANY way to backup/retrieve files before unlocking the bootloader so I can fix the cache corruption issue? She has stock recovery, running lollipop.
Would really appreciate help in this matter, the pictures on her phone are from a year of travelling (not my best idea to leave them on her phone...but I digress).
If your phone keeps rebooting, and bootloader is LOCKED, its going to be hard to do anything to recover user data.
Having said that,
If you had ADB debug enabled before this disaster, you could try to ADB Sidleoad the Nexus 5 Lollipop OTA zip from stock recovery.
Then you data would remain intact.
Best of luck

I can flash custom recovery without unlocking bootloader or wipe. If the /data partition didnt get corrupted we could recover the files.

You can try that too.
What version of Android did you have on the phone?
In order to flash factory images, you’ll need to have the Android SDK HERE
Then you need to download the same version of Hammerhead Factory Image
you have been running on her phone HERE
Extract the correct Hammerhead Factory Image using 7zip or other extractor tool.
Then copy the cache.img from the extraction to the SDK/platform-tools folder.
From within your platform-tools folder, open a command prompt.
I'd recommend wiping the partition before flash.
-First type the following command
fastboot erase cache
-Then type the following command
fastboot flash cache cache.img
Plenty of tutorials in the sticky's if you need to learn more .
Best of luck

Nexus 5 - Bricked?

I have a Nexus 5 that is stuck in a reboot loop with no mods and stock Google software. (bootloader is locked, USB debugging off)
The phone will go to the bootloader and I have tried to do the wipe cache partition but it will flash no command after it is done.
If I do factory data reset it will wipe the data but then when it gets to wipe cache partition it will do the same.
What are my options?
I'd try unlocking the bootloader and flashing the factory image.
