upgrading to Nexus 5 coming from Xperia Go - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm buying my brother a new device to replace his Xperia Go. My question is if the battery life of the Nexus 5 beats the Xperia Go by good margin or is it worse that the Go? He is a conservative user, so his Go can last 2 days without charge. I'm wondering if he can achieve the same for the Nexus 5?

I don't have a Go but I can tell you the Nexus 5 gets awesome battery life, regardless of what some reviews would lead you to believe. Look at this screencap, it speaks for itself. Aside from the talk and screen times, I was also streaming spotify for roughly 90 minutes.

Finally had it with the G2x -- Got a Sensation

T mobile is a good company to work with. I've traded 4 phones in 4 weeks, and by far, the Sensation is a great device.
The only thing I've noticed is that when using MX video hardware decoding for divx movies is choppy. Software decoding is on PAR.
The other little gotcha is that it has rebooted 11 times since I've started using it. Coming from the lock screen as well as, just in general sitting there ( 2 days). T mobile is sending me another one. (Never does it on Wifi calling is on, which I have noticed...)

Usually reboots either if it's over clocked in anyway or Sense using too much memory. But glad you are getting good service from the folks at tmo. I have to call into service to get such service/answers lol. Have fun!
Congrats! Sensation is turning out to be the best device for me so far.
Welcome to the club! Same story here.
That G2x was the biggest POS ever made.
HTC is soooo much better.
Your sensation should NEVER have to reboot unless you have over clocked it. I saw what LG was about to do like nokia did with the n900 and i quickly jump ship. Wasn't going to be burned again.

Welcome to the hood! the Sensation on tmob rocks in Vegas!
They are really helpful, my sister got the sensation too and was having problems with phone not charging, I took it back and they replaced it for a brand new.

My GF has a g2x and there is little wrong with it. GPS sucks from time to time and the camera is lacking...Thats it.
It has MUCH less issues than my sensation has, thats for sure. Its got great battery life (mine sucks), SMOOTH GLASS (mine feels tacky), and a buttery smooth browser. (Mine is jittery and rough).
Best of all, it was free for her (adding a line).
Matt
Cool that tmo is sending you another one. Just curious, are you running stock rom and kernel? Both mine and my wife's sensations used to reboot several times a day on the stock tmous 2.3.3 rom and kernel. The problem went away after I started messing with our phones a bit more.
My MX seems to play fine. Mkvs, avis, you name it, it plays.

ever try ARHD the gpu acceleration makes everything smooth as butter. Even pinch to zoom is tweaked like in Galaxy S II

Hey Bigmixx, I noticed you from tmonews. You always have good points to make. I too was having issues with my Vibrant, and T-Mobile hooked me up with a refurbished Sensation. I'm sure the problems you were having were with that device only because my Sensation is working well. Now I know what it's like to have a decent Android device!
Im too come from LG..O2X, similar to g2x..haha..really glad i did it..

Sensation battery life vs galaxy s2 batterry life

Hi there! I am a happy owner of a sensation, but i'm not verry happy with the batery life. My sensation doesn't stay alive more than 24 h with normal use with wi-fi and data moderate use. I have a friend with a samsung galaxy s 2, and he allways tell me that his phone can resist with same usege between 2-3 days. Is this posible? I had a lot of phones like xperia 10, optimus 2x, desire, optimis one, galaxy s1 and all of these batterys doesnt stay alive more than 16-18 hours. If this is true, i will sel my sensation and get a samsung galaxy s 2. Please..if you had galaxy s2 and sensation.. tell me...is such a big diference between batery lifes???

Yes there is and it is mainly due to power management.

XL is very good phone ,i have it around 2 months and i can say it's great for playing games.Asphalt 8 works on high ,but the camera qualitity isn't satisfacting me.Photos woth good light are really nice ,but on low light they isn't that great. Sometimes on my router wi-fi si disconnecting for 3-5 sec and then it connect ,but this does not happen often. I hope sony relase a bugfix update for us ,thats all from me ,hope this can little help. btw the new fifa 14 works too without lags
Well, here it goes: Xperia L is the best mid-range phone available. Despite its annoying issues, such as low sensitivity touch and camera issues, it rocks. It flies with the Snapdragon processor and the Adreno 305 GPU. However, if you're looking for custom ROMs, you better look for another phone, since we haven't got developers attention yet. So, it certainly is a nice phone, but it has it pros and cons. Hope this helps.

imo, i'd say either spend a bit more & go for Xperia SP.
OR
wait for Xperia C.
btw..Xperia L has a serious bug regarding its internal storage ( apparently, it could be solved by rooting, not sure though.. )

For me it's not, after rooting there in no problem. He can go for sp if he have more money ,but don't buy xperia c it is quadcore but inside the phone is a mediatek, which is ****ty cpu and have low development and support. If he you want to save some mony he should buy xperia m ,xperia l,but he didn't, better go for a nexus 4 than a sp.Xperia L for me is enough fast

This one is much easier and seem to work better on nexus 5.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n5rvb.nexus5realvolumebooster
It simply changes the max output setting to what the chip is capable of, instead of what google prefers.
