Hello all,
What module do you use to customize - gravitybox or xblast tools? It seems that gravitybox is more popular but I haven't tried it yet. Xblast tools seems to have a lot of options from what I've seen. Just curious as to what everyone else's preference is
Xblast is awesome. However, in my experience, many of their mods are not yet compatible with KitKat. For that reason alone I believe Gravity Box is the better option for customizing/themeing. Gravity Box has its own KitKat module, specifically for KK Roms. I use GB (KK) and XGELS to do most of my framework/system themeing. XGELS is a really cool Xposed module that lets you customize the stock GEL launcher. It has many options such as resizing icons/text, changing the color of the icon text, removing the text and removing the oh so annoying google search bar! Plus many more features. Anything beyond that I use/build Zip Themer mods. Zip Themer is one badass application that builds flashable zips that help making the modification and themeing process a lot more user friendly. If you wanna check out how affective zip themer can be, go ahead and check out the candy shop mod thread in the Nexus 5 Themes and Apps forum. It's quite possibly my favorite and most used method of themeing my phone!

Thanks for the explanation! Very very helpful. I'll definitely check out the candy shop thread as well
I have been using liquidsmooth for a while now, but thought I'd give cyanogenmod a try. One of the main features missing is the lockscreen torch which I use surprisingly often. Does anyone know if there is an add-on or anything for this? Done some searching and can't find anything.
Also, does cyanogenmod support changing dpi well?

I'm not the right guy to discuss about CM roms but you can probably add this feature through a xposed module.
Custom DPI is always possible.
I've been trying to find an xposed module to do that, but havent managed. its pretty key for me. Love the way AOKP integrated it (liquidsmooth, etc).
Go to the Google Play Store and download an app called the "Nexus Flashlight", it supports a flashlight(torch) application and also has lockscreen support. Plus! It only works on Nexus devices and I think a few others. I assume you mean like a lockscreen widget right? If yes, this is your app. Turning it on and off from the lockscreen sometimes has a delay but it's only half a second. :good:
EDIT: And yes! Cyanogenmod supports changing DPI, at least as far as I'm aware. I'm able to do this on my Inspire 4G running Cyanogenmod11. I got a boot loop by messing with this before, so make sure you know what you're doing and make a nandroid backup for safety!
Gravity Box allows for torch toggle when you longpress the unlock ring, but it can have some issues with custom ROMs.
You could also get access to torch from the lockscreen by using the quicksettings toggle from the lockscreen.
Well,I have some tips for you to...Modify or Make your phone looks better without flash a new ROM.
First of all,You need something:
Your device,I don't care what is it,Even a microwave.
Root(In order to modify something)
*Custom Recovery(That could help you root, too.)
(*Required root)
*Xposed Framework(Something can make your notification bar transparent,Mostly work on Samsung Phones[4.1.2+].)
*If you're a LG phone,You can use the app "Smartworld"..Browse and download themes you like.
So let get started.
#1:Nova Launcher+icons will be best choice for non-rooting and keeping your warranty's choice.
Also,Nova Launcher got performance on some bad spec phone like Single Core + 512MB RAM,Still can run smoothly.(Tested on S7392)
*Transparented notification bar available,But only the launcher, not in app.
Link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389071
So,Xposed+XTweakbox will be your choice(Not work on some phone like...Notification bar not included in launcher.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So make sure you have a custom recovery before you do it.Because when the framework not compatible your device,You will stuck in a Bootloop...And if you don't ever heard what is bootloop,Leave this choice alone.:fingers-crossed:And i heard of safe mode in android could disable xposed framework,If you have a bootloop, try and comment down here..
Xposed can do many things,Like as i said above,Changing notification bar's color,Even set it as transparent...
Changing the signal thing's bar to 4-6...G-Touchwiz....etc

You can use xuimod for change the transitions
The easiest way is to Flash a custom ROM on your device with the new CM11 Theme Engine inside and then you´re able to apply icons packs , styles , keyboard styles , notification bar styles , quick settings styles , system settings app themed , fonts , lockscreens , sounds , wallpapers , whatsapp themed and much more!
I´m using ACIP ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S2 !
But i will get in 2-3 months my brand new LG G3 !
Gravity box, is the best module of xposed for personalice de phone

I agree with this. Seems easier and more functional to flash a custom ROM if youre going to all that trouble.
Good walk through though.
@Rohan27 if you need help with roms just PM or Whatsapp me
I always cm11 all my devices or do rom based off cm11 and depending on device flash stock camera app from oem if i can to get best pics

Why no one use Trebuchet Launcher ?
I use texdroider_dpi to change to 220dpi. Every launcher looks greater.
@brian0305
I use trebuchet launcher
Whenever you look to the stars, think of one of them as my soul.
I use nova on all my Android devices, has all the features I desire to modify my user experience as far as home screens are concerned. Xposed +Wanam gives me the ability to color what all black changes to a more grey theme.

@Veyne I use nova also on all my devices when there is no theme engine available in my custom roms.
But styling using theme engine is much better than ordinairy nova / go launcher themes .
Because theme engine will also change settings UI keyboard UI
And much more like bootanimation
Whenever you look to the stars, think of one of them as my soul.
There is a new launcher called SOLO LAUNCHER. It features the tap twice to switch off the screen and Google now! looks similar to S5 theme!
Hit thanks if found helpful!

It seems like Xposed for Lollipop will not be released any time soon, so I'd like to request some mod to customize quick settings, clock position, battery icon/text, ...
Thank you for reading.
I'm considering going back to KitKat for Xposed. Not sure if fancy animations are worth the greatness of Gravitybox.
i didn't realise how dependent i became on Xposed and Gravity Box...is there an advanced power menu mod or app, at least?
Stock aosp.. Is just very.. Stock.. My craving for xposed on L is huge
I gone back to Paranoid with Art. I just cant stay without otg for pen drive, notification led settings, active display, changing stock launcher, etc...

THANKS, i've been using xposed for so long i'm really not up to scratch with root apps
Is there any link for Xposed and does it break themes? Thanks. (Hope a version without breaking themes get released).
Thanks.
Installed latest version and checked 'disable resource hooks'. I guess that not using that option would temporarily mess up the theme until I hit that checkbox and reboot. Can someone confirm this? I would like to see the problem in action without messing up my phone.
Xprivacy works fine
did somebody try AppControl?

Most modules works fine including grativybox.

yeah it breaks huawei theme engine, but just wanted to confirm,is there any xposed module to change the color and layout of stock apps like the default blue layout on dialer and also on notification panel?
Install the latest xposed installer and then tick disable resource hookers in settings most modules will work
I installed it,disabled the resource hook, unfortunately gravitybox, xuimod dont work...i need gravitybox for kill apps by back button,,,
