Apparently the guy who developed it didn't like all the attention and fame he got around the world. Well that's what a few sites online say...

I just read up on it, and it seems like removing the app is just going to get it talked about more.
There are plenty of people who have the .apk, as well as people who have modified it, and patched it, etc. If there is a way he is collecting revenue off it this would have been a very successful marketing move. However, the app wasn't a paid app, and even though people may be searching "flappy bird" more, I'm kind of curious how he's actually making money off it since the top Google searches are not likely his own website/ad revenue.

He makes money probably because of the ads in the app like most free games are run by some kind of one click advertising that's why some apps charge to remove it

I would just like to point out this post was against XDA rules.
By asking for this I assuming you do not wish to show support to our devs which is what this website is all about. Shame on you.
Cheap ass. You spend the money on the device and data plan but you're too cheap to spend a couple of bucks on quality software. You suck.

Na, he specifically named installous. And that is where you downloaded cracked apps for the iphone.
Even if he dose here is not the place to discuss. The development team work hard to bring apps, if ppl are gonna crack them why would they even release them??

Nope, the idiot made it pretty clear he's looking for an Installous like market..
It is my understanding that you can get a refund for anything you buy that doesn't work out (in the first day or two i think). that coupled with all the trial apps, means there is no legit reason to use a cracked app.
Not that i ever agreed with that excuse, but some people suggested that it was there reason for wanting cracked apps - to try before buy.
Support developers and don't fool with cracked apps. It is stealing.
I don't think installous on iphone is that bad. I used it so I didn't have to pay for apps and I will admit that but then the app store is so massive anyway it doesn't matter. They will still develop for it.
On android however I think it is av completely different story. As the market isn't that big we need to be supporting developers and giving them a reason to want to develop for android. If everyone on android are going to crack the apps anyway then why would developers ever move from apple to android?

So I paid for the app among how many thousands of other ppl and Microsoft decides it wont allow 3rd party apps to gain access to an account that we the gamer/consumer pay for and google does nothing but pull the app or apps from the market and issues no refunds what the heck is that about ...its not about the money its about the poor business practices and the lack of protection of the consumer

I use an app called XBOX Live Statistics. It's nice because I can see if my friends are online or not, and I can send them XBL messages from my phone. It's a little slow, but worth the load time.
Its the fact all of us who paid for an app can now no longer use it and we got no refund from the dev or google but everyone will cry like babies about pirated software and protecting their work well im saying what's protecting our (the consumer) money.

Absolutely not the devs or Google. Microsoft is at fault here. They disabled access and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Google could have given you the money back but you shouldn't be mad at them.

I didn't even know about this. I have xbox live statistics. Is the app no longer working? I haven't checked it in a day or so, but have a widget that treks me if I have any messages or how many of my friends are online. This is a real bummer and I hope the consumers show enough outrage that they allow access once again. This affecting other mobile platforms as well?

Are you kidding? Of course they can.
It's their software, and they can put whatever restrictions they want on it. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some way to copy data/apps from a protected memory area which would allow people to get their stuff for free, and impact their revenue stream.

There is a write-up on this on AC. People have been screwing with the database for the app and posting impossibly high scores. They put that restriction on there so people couldn't "cheat". It isn't simply the fact that you are rooted.
They will probably start encrypting the score data or something and allow rooted devices again.
They have apparently already reverted to the old version and pushed an update on the Market. The Market review page is actually pretty entertaining...go back a page or two, and there is just page after page of one star reviews from root users (and a few in solidarity from non-root users).

I got a reply from the Email I sent and they removed the rule. You can now play again on a rooted cell. The email I got said the problems they were having was from FC errors on rooted phones. I never had a problem before or now. If fools are cheating then they do need to do some kind of encrypting.
Hello, this is a quick massage, for a few devs:
A ROM developer, who has his ROMs on CWMs website, has implemented a few apps, that are normally paid only!
These apps include:
1. Apex Launcher pro
2. franco.Kernel updater (Franciscofranco has been notified)
3. Root Explorer (file manager)
4. Tapatalk 2
As I don't know all the devs, could you please take note, and notify thedevs, in your spare time
The ROM will be taken down from clockworkmod.com, to prevent more pirating
If you like, you can also post, with other pirated apps from other ROMs, this way we could maybe have a chance against idiots, who pirate and redistribute apps!
I will update this thread, as often as I can, and keep informing devs
Edit: If you have found stuff like this, feel free to report it here in the thread. It's not like anyone will criticize you (Not like that one user below).

Bit harsh to criticise him for letting developers know their commercial apps are being used without their permission. If someone used apps you created and sold wouldn't you want to know?
Tapatalk is not free. It is a commercial app made available free to some users under a deal with certain businesses so we can get it free but it is still a paid and copyrighted commercial app and whether we like it or not redistributing a paid app without permission to is piracy.
Apex pro is not free or open source only the less well featured non pro version is open source and free so again it is piracy.
Ideally the rom creator should be contacted privately as it could be an innocent mistake on their part but that doesn't make the op bad for letting people know their apps are being used in such a way.
Maybe the op is a cwm fan who doesn't want them targeted by those who have shut down popular sites that hosted pirated content and hopes that infringing content can be removed?

Exactly. You let this kind of stuff fly and you'll see Rom Manager removed from the market, if not sued for facilitating copyright infringement.

This is a Dev site, to support people who develop, so someone reporting on pirated software is doing the right thing. People aren't going to make product if one of the biggest sites out there condones it. Thankfully, you are in the minority. In my opinion to be successful in any of the major app markets such as the play store and app store. You have to be able to create something that people didn't know they needed. Something that is new and innovative ad that has never been done before. Also if it is a game it is an good idea to make it as addicting as possible.

In short, app failed because no one know it, no one like it, no one use it.
At first, should not follow the money, but your product. If you want to win, you and your product must be different (unique is even better)
Second, marketing. I think you already googled for the tips. But read them again. It may help.
