phone crashed after 8 month of normal use. - HTC One SV

Rooted my phone 8 month ago s-off also. Then yesterday it just shut down and only boots to bootloader.
Pc doesnt see my phone so pushing files to fix it is a no go, choosing factoey reset or revovery just put device into a reboot straight back to bootloader
.
Any one have a pl80img.zip with a recovery in i can use to see if that will fix it prefer stock recovery but at this point will go custom. Htc refuse to help as i am 1 week out of warrenty and still have 12month on my ee contract
thank you

As i said no longer seen by pc so fastboot usb is a no go
device only boots into bootloader all options trigger instant reboot except recovery which boots to recovery then reboots to bootloader as if it cant find recovery image.
Im hoping that the bootloader will allow me to push somethunv via a zip file to get the recivery started just ive never done it this way so no idea how to get the pl80img.zip to push correctly

K2_UL_Europe_rom.zip
you can rename this to PL80IMG.zip
and it will do a complete RUU restore to 4.0.4.....
or just use the android-info.txt out of it and zip it together with the TWRP recoveryimg from old.splatterhand's index thread
I'd suggest the full RUU though
make sure battery is at least 30% and plugged into power source

[RESOLVED] I bricked my Desire S

My phone is unbranded , unrooted & stock using ROM 1.47.401.4.
I have downloaded the latest ota 2.10.401.4 and in that zip there was a firmware zip in it.
i renamed the firmware zip to pg88img.zip and put it in my phone's sd root.
After the reboot of the phone has updated the firmware BUT thats all.
If i reboot the phone stucks on the HTC logo but also i can go to the bootloader options if on the reboot i hold down the volume button.
Is there any way to restore the phone?
I try to flash the stock rom but nothing.
Can anybody help please??
Resolution:
If anyone has the same problem and has hboot-2.00.0002 & S-ON you have to unlock the bootloader via htcdev.com site following all the steps and flash the EXT4 Recovery via FASTBOOT and NOT ADB.!!
Then go to recovery and flash any custom rom.

Which update did you download? There are a couple available - odexed & deodexed.
Maybe worth trying which ever one you didn't download the first time?
Also are you giving it plenty of time to load? First boot from a fresh install always takes a long time.
Don't worry, you don't have a brick

That would be a choice, but I would say you'll be better of to use xtc-clip to gain s-off, after this everything is possible or just give it back for warranty and let them repair it,
because it's still s-on, but just to know, what else where in the zip?
Could it be that you forgot something, have you tried a factory reset?

Go to a second hand handy shop that also does repairs and stuff like this maybe they get one, I s-offed mine this way for €20^^

In that zip file there was another zip file called Firmware.zip.
I renamed the firmware.zip to pg88img.zip and i put it in the root of my sd card.
I rebooted holding the volume down button and the phone went to bootloader mode found the pg88img.zip and flashed it.

Is there any way to flash the OTA via fastboot since over adb i get the message device not found..???
Do you have a "recovery" option in the fastboot menu? If so try to go to this menu and see if adb recognises it then. But you have probably tried this already, right.
With adb, when you type 'adb devices', your phone is not shown, correct?
I'm not sure about getting S-off with the new hboot, I did mine with the old hboot.
You could try to download the deodexed rom on this page and flash that, but you need to get into recovery first.
Sorry, not much help I'm afraid.
Did you try to install these fastboot drivers?
Unfortunately i have tried everything so far but didn't work.
The xtc clip maybe is the only way.. Or if the s-off solution of revolution will support in future my hboot and do it that way.
I also noticed that when i tried to flash the stock rom i had 1.47.401.4 and was stuck on the HTC logo the update software said that i had rom 11.10.401.4.!!!!!
Since i flashed the original fota why the version said 11.10.401.4 and not 2.10.401.4??
WTF IS GOING ON.??
Well, I still don't think you have a brick - you can get into the bootloader, you just need your pc to recognise it via USB.
Have you tried flashing the previous hboot version you had? To enable revolutionary s-off?
Also have a look around the general Android forums, there are some very experienced peeps there who may be able to help.
Peace

You should ask this question on the XTC phone tools forum to raskal to be 100% sure that this new version is covered (see link on the XTC in my sig)
and as @tectas has said, there is still a possibility that you are still able to return under warranty and allow them to resolve it for you..
sorry unable to assist with confidence.
EDIT: see this thread that I created a while back that contains another link within it to lots of XTC owners around the world within it, but I'd confirm that the new HBOOT is covered before you run XTC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076937&highlight=xtc
I ask them. Thanks anyway.
The 3 things left.
1. to ask xtc forum if my hboot-2.00.0002 is supported.
2. to wait till revolution s-off supports in the future my hboot.
3. to wait till someone leakes the stock signed ruu 2.10.401.4
That's all unfortunately..

Looking for a little help with desire s on 2.3.5

Ok i have been going over every inch of the forums and all over the internet and i really run out of ideas.
i have a HTC Desire S on 2.3.5 with HBoot 2.00.0002, ive used HTCdev to unlock the bootloader and used superoneclick to root my phone (sort of) but my phone is stuck with S-ON.
i have tried everything i have found but the bootloader is stuck on the stock one, i have Rom Manager on my phone and ive tried the 4EXT but because of the phone being stuck on S-ON when it goes to the recovery part it errors out and i have to jack the battery out to get it to restart.....
HELP please :3
First your rom is rooted but system is not. You can install custom recovery , but use fastboot to flash it and all will works fine. For this problem when you go recovery you don't need to pull battery never pull it for this phone. Press volume up+volume down and then press power button and keep all pressed and phone will reboot normal

@RageReaper
Not really sure whats going on, cause you are confused and should do MORE reading.
Root is not the same as s-off, so look into that.
You unlocked your bootloader using HTCdev, thus you are still s-on and stock hboot but now can root your phone, have a custom recovery and flash roms. - NORMAL!!!!
Try flash the recovery in fastboot.
Just to be sure your hboot does say UNLOCKED at the top right?
yes it says its UNLOCKED but im trying to S-off my phone so i can make a copy of my OS so if something goes wrong i can always go back to it
so whats the best way to S-off my desire s?, Thank you in advance and to the people that will help
@RageReaper
You can do that once you install a custom recovery. Nandroid backup..
Ive managed to root my older android phones but this is really starting to bug me I can't get nandroid to work because after I used superoneclick I installed Rom manager to make a back up and it did the clockwork mod but the recovery part of my hboot errors out this is why I'm asking for help because I think I dropped the ball on this one

It doesn't matter if the guides are talking can't s-off phone's and different hboot's, they will work still.
Do the following,
-Turn off fastboot menu/settings/power/
fastboot (on the phone)
-Turn on USB debugging menu/Settings/
Applications/Development/ USB debugging (on
the phone)
Okay, get into fastboot, boot into your hboot (switch phone off and the
press power+vol down)
Plug your phone in,
Now your phone is plugged in and in hboot, press the power button once, it'll say something like fastboot usb.
Follow the link I gave you now.

I relocked the bootloader but it just kept restarting into the bootloader, no recovery. I might be missing something but it just won't load into the OS now with it locked. I am using the ville-superboot hack atm...maybe i broke it...
Unfortunately i Cant help you with that issue. But can i ask when you downloaded that file. From I have desperately been looking for a stock os for my telus one s.
NVM: Found your post, Now all i need is an RUU for telus. This might be your issue too. is your rom stock? This is only an update so You probably need to be running the RUU rom.
I have a nandroid backup of the stock rom in a .zip file. I don't know how to make it into an RUU or else I would. I am on a stock rom also. I have it rooted and a custom recovery but I didn't load a custom rom on it. Just use the super.boot method to load the OS. Kinda works like a tethered jailbreak.

OK so for you TELUS subscribers out there, this is for you. I have a nandroid backup of a stock Telus system. This system is on the lasted update from Telus OTA_Ville_U_TELUS_WWE_1.84.661.9-1.70.661.1. The only thing I have done is obviously unlocked the bootloader and flashed custom recovery to make the backup. I have also included a stock boot.img and a stock recovery.img as well as the actual OTA update (don't think it's needed but it's there).
So, if you can get into the bootloader, you can revert back to a stock rom on TELUS with this backup.
I have tested it so I know that it works.
If you have any questions let me know
The link is to my Dropbox and its been shortened so just copy and paste it into your browser - goo.gl/cyDrg -
Cheers!
P.S. Give it about an hour or so to upload. I live in Canada and our upload sucks

If you already have rooted your phone why didn't you make the root permanent? There is no excuse for for not being able to reboot without a PC.
Also, I would suggest not updating by OTA or RUU as it will update the HBoot and you won't be able to flash whatever you want after that.

That was a different issue with the boot.img I was using. That is not the case with this one.
We are you interested in updating via the ota or just making sure your phone is current with everything? You can do either, your best move is to avoid the OTA and do everything manually.
Is there a way to go back to the HBOOT-1.08.0000 if you did do the OTA?

So because I updated I was told that I can't get root access any longer. Well I was bored so I went to htcdev.com and reunlocked my bootloader, flashed recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-ville, and flashed TrickDroid_v7.1.0. Let the rom boot into the OS and updated my binarys in SU and they installed fine.
So if you also updated your device OTA and your on TELUS, you are fine...you can still flash custom roms with the new hboot without any issues.
I have added some screenshots

I don't think they showed up in the last post

Relock bootloader
Reflash stock recovery
Do ota update

Don't panic, this should be an easy fix.
Once you relock, you have to run a ruu or unlock again. But you're trying to run a ruu for older firmware, which is why it's failing.
Just push the unlock token again, and you should be able to boot to recovery. If not, push the recovery image again. I don't recommend CWM, even though it's been ported to this phone. That version of TWRP should work, just confirm that you've got the Evita version.
OK i have unlocked again and re pushed recovery TWRP 2.4.1.0
But I still cant boot into the recovery option..

Just push the unlock token again, and you should be able to boot to recovery. If not, push the recovery image again. I don't recommend CWM, even though it's been ported to this phone. That version of TWRP should work, just confirm that you've got the Evita version.

I believe through adv but is way simpler to do it through recovery. Try a earlier version of twrp

did you verify you are unlocked now, or did you just assume since you pushed the token again?
Also, are you certain you're using the right version of TWRP and not one for another phone (like the endeavour/Tegra One X)?
I pushed the same token and rebooted the device at the top its now says unlocked

bah, all-in-one don't learn anything without doing it yourself. evita is a pretty easy phone once you learn the basics. the op link for twrp in the dev section lists every twrp version officially released for our phone. http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/evita
ok i loaded that last night before i went to bed I went this morning to look at the phone and now it just goes to a black screen no madder what I do i put it in the computer the computer goes beep now when its plugged in my computer only the red light at the top flashes and then it disconnects from my computer because i can here the beep of adding and removing hard ware.
is my phone now bricked ?

If I were you I'd reinstall drivers and manually push the recovery via adb. Use this command- fastboot flash recovery (filename).img

Hi Guys,
I have the same phone as the specs mentioned below. This is my first android phone and my first time playing around with it.
Here are the specs for "Rogers HTC One X":
***TAMPERED***
***Relocked***
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.14.0000
RADIO-0.23a.32.02.29
OpenDSP-v31.1.0.45.28.15
eMMC-boot
Nov 26 2013
Here is my accomplishments so far:
- Unlocked with HTC Dec, therefore it says unlocked as mentioned above
- Installed TWRP v2.5.0.0, and can successfully boot into recovery
Yet to be done and do not know how to:
- S-OFF
- Super CID
- Permanent Root
Problems installing ROM:
- unable to install. Various errors with different roms, such as:
1) unable to mount sdcard
2) assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")
3) error executing updater binary in zip
Please advise. Thank you for your time.
Note: the device is locked to Rogers. It is currently in bootloop. I do not know what I did but before installing TWRP, the device went in bootloop after unlocking bootloader and it would simply not start. Although, as mentioned I can successfully boot into the recovery and mount the sdcard from there to transfer files to the phone.

Why are you relocked?
Unlock again and update TWRP, then try to flash a ROM again. What ROM(s) are you trying to flash.
Be aware that since you are s-off, you will need to extract boot.img from the ROM you are trying to flash, and manually flash with fastboot. You will need to do this every time you flash a ROM, unless you get s-off.
Also, I don't know why you posted to this old thread. Aside from the OP also having the Rogers version, it has nothing to do with your issue. Should have started your own thread.
I'll just clarify that when Redpoint said you need to update TWRP you should update it to TWRP 2.6, your current version (2.5) is very buggy. Also, he means since you are s-on you need to flash the boot.img, when you get s-off this will no longer be required.

I made an error. my bootloader was already unlocked. Any how flashing the boot.img of the Rom before installing the Rom worked. Thank you for your insight. My phone is up and running.
For others: below is the rom i flashed:

I think I've done messed up now...
I've been having a lot of issues with my HTC One M8 (Verizon) (rooted, s-off) phone since the screen was replaced. Mainly, my GPS signal completely stopped working. Anyway, that has led me flashing various ROMS, update.zip files, and 0p6bimg.zip files. Previously, I was working on a 32-bit Win7 laptop during the first round of nonsense. I'd be able to trace back my steps better but since that laptop is no longer in my possession, along with all the various files I used during the process. During that time, I had pretty much bricked my phone where it was stuck on the red Verizon splash screen indefinitely. Eventually, through much trial and error and internet searching, IRCC I flashed some new FUU and RUU files. Ultimately, I was able to successfully sideload the ViperOneM8_4.3.0_OTA Lollipop ROM and get back up and running (still minus GPS lock, but that's beside the point right now).
Fast forward to today, I was intending to flash a different ROM and messed up big time. I loaded the new ROM onto my storage, then powered the phone on into the bootloader. When I tried flashing the new ROM I was given an error (I don't remember specifically what it was, but the flash didn't go through). I then tried wiping data and cache, then tried again. Still didn't work.
Now I'm stuck here with the only the stock recovery mode and the unlocked bootloader as my only options. I'm now working on a different 64-bit Win8 laptop and for the life of me can't even get ADB properly setup where a command prompt "adb devices" command shows that my phone is being recognized. Any time I try to flash any firmware or ROM from the stock recovery I get the following error:
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
Aborting installation
I'm totally stuck and have no clue what to do. I can't even flash back to the previous Venom ROM I had installed before today's wipe... Can anybody help???
FWIW, my bootloader screen currently shows this info:
M8_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF
CID-VZW__001
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RARIO-1.12.20.1211
OpenDSP-v47.2.2-00564-M8974_FO.1024

Yesssss!! That got me back up and running back to Android 4.4.2 (along with HTC Sense 6.0). Might be jumping the gun but it also looks like my GPS is able to lock on now too!ust
But I think I overlooked the custom recovery part. I'm not clear on when I flash this portion:
RUU Mode TWRP 2.8.6.0 TWRP that will flash while in RUU mode

I tried to install TWRP through the Goole Play app TWRP Manager [Root] which prompted installation of BusyBox and a few other features. Once I tried to reboot into recovery mode I got the red triangle with exclamation point that doing volume_up + power brought me into the stock recovery, which of course failed at flashing anything. At that point I went to reboot back to normal and it then hung up forever on the white HTC splash screen, this time with the red text at the bottom "This build is for dev purposes only. Do not distribute out of HTC..."
Gonna reflash the RUU and get back to where I was for now.
UPDATE: Reflashed the RUU, now back to Android 4.4.2 with working GPS and wifi. Still not so sure about getting a custom recovery going though.
I still haven't figured out how to get ADB commands to work yet, so this part (if I understand it correctly) I'm still SOL on:
Optional If you wish to flash a custom recovery before leaving RUU mode you can. This is helpful if you have relocked for any reason as you CAN flash a recovery using this method while locked (since s-off). Download the ruuM8TWRP_2_8_5.zip below and place it in your working fastboot/adb directory. Once in place, issue the following command.
fastboot flash zip ruuM8_TWRP_2_8_5L.zip

Otherwise, I downloaded Flashify from the Google Play and tried first flashing TWRP. Downloaded and installed just fine seemingly, but then when I tried to reboot to recovery I got the white screen with the green HTC logo in the middle along with the purple text at the top that reads "Loading (or booting?) into recovery..." but it just hangs. Went back to Flashify and tried CWM. Also downloaded and installed fine, but this time trying to reboot into recovery it'd show that same white screen only for a second and then go right back to the bootloader. Back in Flashify, tried the third option, Philz, and it wouldn't even download ("something went wrong, try again later").
Obviously I'm in need of getting a custom recovery on there, but once that's done I'd also like to update to Digitalhigh GPE. Once I do have a custom recovery working again, would I be okay to go ahead and go through the process linked below?
