Hi,
I tried to install Elegancia ROM (Sense 4.1 - V8.0.0), but phone is freezing during installation. Before Elegancia I had Stock ICS ROM.
At first I unlocked bootloader, then I installed ClockworkMod Recovery and at the end I did root. When I tried to install Elegancia ROM, I did all steps but then phone is freezing and i see only Sensation logo.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for reply, but it doesn't work for me. I cannot boot my phone so I should follow these steps:
...
5.
Disconnect your phone from your pc
Power off your phone
Remove the battery
Insert the battery back in
Turn on your phone while holding BOTH the POWER ON and VOLUME DOWN button
Connect your phone to your pc again
6. Your phone will (re)boot, wait until you see a white screen which says "FASTBOOT USB"
...
When I have phone in recovery mode (and then connect to pc), six step doesn't happend. My phone won't reboot and I don't see "FASTBOOT USB"

Sounds like you are the proud owner of a brand new ... brick!
But seriously will it do anything? Did you try booting into the bootloader like step 10 says?
10. IF IT DOESN'T REBOOT and bootloader says ***Security Warning**
Remove and re-insert the battery and go back into bootloader and holding Volume Down +power button select fastboot
11. Run RUU_Pyramid_***.exe to reflash stock rom. (the one u just downloaded in step 1) and then reboot. It should work now

Hi, A short but effective guide for people who want to root their Desire S while keeping HBOOT 2.00.0002 and S-ON. This is what I did with my phone yesterday, but took me a lot of time to figure things out, so I'm writing this for myself and other people.
1) First of all set up ADB and Fastboot. [GUIDE] Easy and simple adb and fastboot setup for newbies (Windows only)
Also download the ROM you wish to install on your Desire S and put it on your microSD card. For this tutorial I choose Reaper v2.1 rom by lowveld.
2) You have to unlock your bootloader first via HTCdev so that you can install EXT4 recovery and custom roms. In the dropdown list select ''All other supported models'' and follow the instructions.
If you successfully finished the HTCdev unlock tutorial, your phone has a unlocked bootloader.
3) We're going to install EXT4 recovery. But first download ''4EXT_Recovery_v2.2.7_RC5.zip'' and extract the recovery.img file to the folder where you installed fastboot and adb. If you followed the tutorial in step 1 the folder will be ''C:\android-tools''
Now make sure Fast Boot is turned off on your phone. Go to ''Settings > Power > Fast Boot'' to turn it off. Unplug your phone from your computer, it's time to turn of your phone and boot into your bootloader.
Press Volume Down Button and Power Button at the same time to boot into recovery. Now connect your phone to your computer and select fastboot.
(Power button to select, Volume Down/Up to navigate)
Go to start->run-> type cmd and press enter. A command prompt will now appear.
Type:
cd c:\android-tools [press enter]
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img [press enter]
Click to collapse
EXT4 recovery is now installed on your phone. Turn off your phone in bootloader menu.
4) Open the rom (.zip file) you downloaded in step 1 and put the ''boot.img'' file in ''C:\android-tools''
If you followed this tutorial correctly, you already copied your desired rom your onto your MicroSD card.
Now we boot into the bootloader again, this time we select recovery.
Go to: wipe | format>and select: wipe data/factory reset (this may take a while), then select wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
Go back to main menu in EXT4 recovery and select ''install from sdcard'' select ''Reaper_V2.1.ZIP''. After the rom is installed turn your phone off again.
Boot into recovery, connect your phone to your computer and select fastboot on your phone.
Go to start->run-> type cmd and press enter. A command prompt will now appear.
Type:
cd c:\android-tools [press enter]
fastboot flash boot boot.img [press enter]
Click to collapse
After it's successfully installed, turn of your phone and just boot normally. It may take a while for your phone to boot up.
Your phone is unlocked, rooted and has a custom ROM.
Enjoy
Note: Some new ICS roms require different kind of HBOOT. I use Fallout v5.0.0 without any problems.
Just press the 'Thanks' button instead of saying thanks.

Why did you temp root at step 2? As soon as you restart your phone it'll be gone.

So it's not permanent? meaning step 2 is unnecessary?
@n0elite
Yeah, if your phone is locked (2. hboot) or s-on (0.98 hboot) if will just give you shell root, useful but not required for what you doing.
this looks promising, i think i'll try it someday
so i'll be root after i finished this procedure, or just temporary?
Finally. This was the missing link in this forum!
I had the intention do write one, but I am S-OFF and cannot verify the steps without going to Stock then doing the steps and then downgrade and S-OFF again. Too many things to do just in the name of a correct tutorial. Anyway thanks I am glad that somebody finally wrote it!
P. S. : please notify ben_pyett to include it in the Index thread

Damn, where did you read to pull the battery? NEVER PULL BATTERY AT RUNNING OR BOOTING SYSTEM EXCEPT YOUR AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY TO GET A PAPERWEIGHT AND DON'T MIND IT!!
Did really take a look at the recovery? What is written as last line?
Ok, but your phone is off now, if not reboot to bootloader with
adb reboot bootloader
at the command line.
Otherwise start it with vol down and power.
There use the fastboot command to flash the boot.img, if you're lucky it will work.

What rom do you use? Maybe the recovery script forces a restart, sry, but anyways use vol down vol up and power or adb reboot bootloader to force a reboot.
If it's really needed only pull battery in between the small gap after shutdown and boot, but not at running system.
Try it the other way round, first flash the boot.img, afterwards flash the rom.

What did you do before the phone wouldn't boot?
I followed your directions, I installed version Reaper_V2.1'''' I closed, I opened the phone and I gave in "Fastboot", give the command:
cd c: \ android-tools [press enter]
fastboot flash boot boot.img [press enter],
but it says "error: can not load boot.img", if I saw a video where I realize I'm wrong or my phone failed.
Put boot.img in c:\android-tools and then run the command again

Im new to this phone so i was wondering how i can flash the new ruu 1.82 for the At&t' One X? Sorry if this question was already asked. It's just i am really confused
1. Download HTC Sync to your PC, install it
2. Download the RUU
3. Disable Fastboot on your phone by going to Settings -> Power and unchecking Fastboot
4. Reboot your phone into bootloader mode by holding Vol down while it boots
5. From there enter the fastboot menu (vol up and down to navigate, power to select)
6. Plug it in, let your PC install the drivers and such
7. When it's done with that you should see the FASTBOOT text on your phone turn to FASTBOOT USB, run the RUU.
Note that this will wipe your phone. You will keep your personal user data.
Uhh.. download the ruu.exe. connect phone. Turn debugging mode on. Run the .exe done.

if it goes upto beats audio means ..you can probably use adb ..try this
NOTE:assumed you have adb/fastboot setup
first type
adb wait-for-device
then when you got control on the prompt (the blinking underscore) ..it means the device is identified
then immediately type this
adb reboot bootloader (or directly to recovery using "adb reboot recovery" )
this should take you to bootloader
hi,
i got adb not recognized as internal or external command. i hear the usb sound when i plug the phone to the computer. i attached a printscreen. Please have a look.

Hi,
I was trying to flash TWRP, but now I am stuck with flashing TWRP logo after rebooting or powering the phone on.
I am unable to get to the fastboot.
STEPS I did before brick:
1. unlocked OEM via official way
2. flashed TWRP
3. after that my phone was reset however most of the apps was missing, I was trying to do factory reset once again but it failed with the message "Data partition was heavily damaged"
4. I re-locked EOM
5. brick as mentioned above
Please help, I have the phone only two weeks and I have no idea how to fix this without fastboot.
Thank you.

Sounds like you flashed the 3030 version of TWRP. Download the 3020 version and put it in your fastboot folder. Plug in the USB to PC
Hold power and volume up untill the phone reboots. While it's still off immediately change to power and volume down and hold till it goes into fastboot (bootloader)
Now fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
With the 3020 version.
Unplug the USB and hold power and volume up until it says the phone is booting.. let go and TWRP will load.
Go to Wipe / format data / type yes
Reboot to system and your all set

So I've tried that but the phone is still booting to recovery (flashing TWRP logo) no matter what.
Basically the phone is always on now because if hold the power button (or any other combination) for a few second it will just reboot back.
I have an access only to ADB, but I am not able to boot to bootloader at all, it seems the bootloader is damaged somehow.
Also that warning about unlocked OEM doesn't have that text saying "hold volume up to boot to recovery" etc. like before brick.
Hi there,
Try using the Huawei Multi Tool with the Unbrick option : https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/tool-huawei-multi-tool-team-mt-t3523923
Speaking from experience, this little fellow helped me recover my phone when I bricked it ON DAY ONE after failed root attempt... (Derp)
Let me know if it helped you
(Leave a thanks if it did )
EDIT : This tool is also useful if you want to get lazy whilst rooting. I use it constantly when flashing diffrent bits and pieces
Clearly follow My steps To unbrick and get normal device ::
Step 1 ::
Download the full firmware of your device.
Step 2 :
make sure that your bootloader is in unlocking state
Follow the video blindly ::: https://youtu.be/OMKDnBqbi3U?list=PL...eT9J26lkefvVkK
don't panic of mobile.
Step 3 :: done ..enjoy u did it
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you bricked on nougat then follow the below steps
step one :::
download the downgrade package to mm .
then extract the zip and open the update.app using HuaweiUpdateextrator in that select recovery and extract
1.now, boot your device into fastboot and flash the recovery (Optional)(try this if it said incompatible version on recovery)
2. on your sd card and make a folder "dload" . and copy the update.app which we have extracted earlier
3.the switch off the device and press all three buttons you will be reboot into recovery and done . you device will be okey

Booting to the bootloader is just a timing issue
Phone must be hooked to PC with USB
And volume up and power till it goes black
Then immediately volume down and power and Hold untill the bootloader loads
Keep trying until you get it

I also can use "adb reboot bootloader", but it will reboot again to stuck recovery.

I've tried that, but I am still stuck as that tool is using fastboot as every other tool to flash .img files.
Thank you for the tip though.
Plug phone into computer with USB, then hold down power + volume down until it eventually boots into bootloader. I had the same scenario as you and that's how I got into the bootloader. You can flash either a good TWRP or the stock recovery, either one will work.
