[Q] How to sign a recovery zip - Other Tools & General Discussion

Hi,
I recently ported the ClockworkMod recovery to a new device. I built a fakeflash using the CyanogenMod SDK without errors, but when I install the update.zip signed with the test keys it fails the signature verification. I found the ota certificates zip file the device used, but I don't know how to sign it using the device's ota certificates. Any help is greatly apperciated.

[Q] **How to flash zip file in recovery**

Hi All, I am new to this forum and android world. I have a samsung galaxy wifi 5 android device running froyo 2.2.2. This is basically equivlent to IPod Touch (I guess). I am trying to make this device detect ad-hoc wireless connection so that i can connect this with my windows mobile phone. After some research I found that wpa_supplicant file needs to be modified. I have already found the patched and complied zip file here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754961. I just need to know how do I flash this file in recovery. So far I have rooted my device, and installed ROM manager. Alos do I need any flash cards? Your help would be much appriciated. Thanks
Same boat here. Google hasn't seemed to help either.
How do you "flash" a zip file in Recovery?
Thanks
First you need ClockWorkMod and know how that phone's version works. Move the zip file that has the new ROM onto your sd card. Boot into ClockWorkMod. Then choose the zip file with ClockWorkMod.
yes google is your friends
but first insall recovery and after use it, choose the downloaded zip file and update your phone with it...

[Q] Custom rom error

Hi, i have a problem with my custom rom. I followed many guides to create a custom rom. I use android kitchen and 7zip.
My device is Plunk elite 2 ( http://www.plunk.it/tvbox/pro ). I downloaded a firmware from Plunk and with android kitchen I added just one application in system/app folder. I build the archive with android kitchen and always with android kitchen i sign the archive.
When i try to install the update from sd card i get this error:

installation aborted
I tried more times but no solved. How can I do? Where i wrong?

sign apk, update.zip change splash screen, possible?

Hi everyone,
when updating Oreo to a newer version with update.zip, I was wondering if it's possible to change the logo.jpg inside the up_param.bin and repack the zip and sign it again.
I tried with sign apk tool but I get a signed error when trying to flash through stock recovery
The update zip must be signed using Samsung's private key.

Can't install/flash Update.zip with TWRP? (important!)

Hi, I would like to say in advance that I am grateful for any idea or solution.
Well, I wanted to install certain files, that is .apk files on my Samsung Galaxy S8, after which I created an Update.zip with a tool (Android Script Creator). Since my smartphone constantly stuck in an infinitely long bootloop, I have briefly reset my smartphone to sign the Update.zip with the app ZipSigner. After I reset everything so that I could install the signed Update.zip with TWRP, I got the error "Updater process ended with ERROR: 6 / Error installing zip file '/external/_sd/Update-signed.zip'". By the way, before that there was the note "no Digest file found", if that should be important.
If you have an idea what this could be and maybe a solution, then I look forward to your answer.
Many thanks in advance!
PS: If anyone knows how to replace .apk files and the associated data in the TWRP backup files, I would also be very happy about it.

Click to collapse
Mount system. Go to advanced-file manager. There you can copy all the apps to their perticular location. Copy the files rom the updater zip. If the copying doesn't succeed then post the update.zip here
