Hi
Can someone guide or tell me how to root 4.4.2 Kitkat (official firmware) on a tablet with Rockchip 3188?
The tablet is named Vido M10, running Rockchip 3188, 2GB RAM and 16 GB storage.
Before I updated I had 4.2 JB (stock). On that firmware I was able to root and install CWM recovery (via some guides I found on the net).
But after I upgraded to 4.4.2 CWM recovery seems to be gone. And the root is also gone.
The guides for rooting don't seem to work anymore on 4.4.2 and arctools failed to install CWM recovery, when I try.
UPDATE 11/02: I now found a pre-rooted custom Kitkat firmware for my Vido M10 here http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...itkat-custom-rooted-firmware-20140117/#p38829 so I just flashed this and now my tablet is rooted. After that I was able to install CWM recovery again with arctools 0.80

and now i want to flash but got no recovery.
is it impossible to flash ore can it be done.
PS how do i unroot this
Hello, I have a Teclast P78HD. Flashed the new firmware v2.03 using PhoenixSuit, and rooted with KINGO Root. But I can't do anything in the recovery, I tried flashing TWRP or CyanogenMod (http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/978...inner-a31-by-christiantroy-update-2014-04-19/). The flash process seems fine, but I can't see any changes in the OS and the recovery is still the same.
Is there a custom recovery that could help me flash custom ROMs?
Hi Everybody!
In first place thanks to everybody that reads this thread. Thanks for taking your time.
I upgraded my N8010 to the latest firmaware (4.4.2).
I have rooted and istalled a custom recovery (CWM 6.0.4.6) and installed Gnabo V.7 rom.
I am not particularly keen on TouchWiz, and I would like to move away from it.
Gnabo room (as it currenly is) reboots randmomly, and I also experience problems with my emaîl settings. (have to reconfigure sometimes...)
The issue is that after the new bootloader, it seems to be impossible to install any custom rom that is not TouchWiz 4.4.2 based.
I think that if sombedy could list the options that we have for roming, after the stock 4.4.2 update, this would really help.
Thanks again in advance.

Update rom
Here is what I did so far:
Stock N8010 on 4.1.2
Upgrade stock to 4.4.2
Root with Chainfire method (over ODIN)
Instal Philz Recovery
Install CM 11 unofficial rom that led to brick
Unbrick by flashing over odin 4.4.2 firmaware from sammobile
Reroot and CWM recovery 6.0.4.6.
Install Stockish rom 4.4.2 that led to brick --> sorted by backup with CWM recovery
Install OMNI rom --> Success!! only issue is to non boot over charging.
SO... OMNI rom seems to work.
See If I can try another one!

Hi all ,
I have an Galaxy tab GT-P7100 10.1v 3G version 4.04 , manufacture year 2011, running android 4.0.4 , kernel version 3.1.10.
Is there a way to update android on this tablet? Last over the air android version was stuck at 4.0.4 wich doesn't let the tablet installing and running apps anymore.
Thank you in advance.
You have to
1. Find a Custom Recovery ( CWM recovery and/or TWRP recovery ) suitable to your phone
2. If found, find a Custom ROM suitable to your phone
If both found then you've to flash the Custom Recovery, if successful then you've to flash the Custom ROM via the Custom Recovery.
