Is there a KitKat TW rom? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My Wife just got me a Galaxy Gear to play with. I am waiting for the S5 before I upgrade. I have a 4.4 rom (CM), though its not TW so I can't use a bulk of the functions in my Galaxy Gear. I am not going to root/rom my watch yet, but want to keep Kit Kat. I did some searching and can't seem to find any TW Kit Kat roms, and was wondering if anyone can suggest one, or let me know that they aren't any.
Thanks

There aren't any. The most recent official OTA release for the S3 was 4.3.1 Jellybean. No idea if the Verizon S3 will even get 4.4 KitKat officially.

Isn't 4.3 tw compatible with pebble?

it only works on jellywiz and tasteofbeans...im sure somebody willing to put in the time can make it work on touchwiz ics, but i see no point really since we should be on official jelly bean next month.

You think the ota will happen in October? I would love that but have little faith in verizon. The nexus still does not have jelly bean.... Which is completely ridiculous.

That's the updated gallery from the ICS TW for the note, its not based on jellybean.

That's the one im talking about.

Jelly bean

Dis anybody think we will get 4.2 jb since we were told we would get jb and technically it's still jb?
If your rooted yes for sure.
Like stated above rooted yes from VzW or Samsung I'm not counting on it. I want the sphere photo option though!

Wonder how long it will take devs. I wish Verizon would give us an official one though

Since its still jelly bean probably not very long. Just gotta wait for source to be released
Either way I'm pretty excited. Since I got my s3 I actually enjoy touchwiz (hated it before) and try to stick to tw roms. I would definitely be ok with an AOKP or cm rom for 4.2 though!

4.4 KitKat for Ace 2.

After all we might get 4.4 update....

Excuse my ruff language but this is complete bull****.
We'll be patient with samsung -.- ... always for ous ACE 2 they take their time...
I dont think samsung will spend time on ace 2 anymore
It is already 1,5 year old phone... There are many new models to care about.

And where is this official list? That picture in the posts above is just nothing. The fact that they considering update this doesn't means that we will get it. Even on sammobile.com they say this:
"However, just because Samsung is considering the update doesn’t mean the updates will actually come – the Galaxy S4 mini is one device that is most likely to get the update, but for the other devices on that list, there might not be much hope, if only because Samsung’s heavy and bloated TouchWiz skin might negate the work Google has done on reducing the memory consumption on Android 4.4 KitKat."
So no more updates for ACE2. That's the big bold fact.

my hope was gone when jellybean came out so late
I trust in Samsung no more... Howevwr. we have kitkat-based CM 11, so we don't really need official release!..
KitKat

...but does it matter now Rox and others are making CM11?
To be honest - if KitKat on Ace 2 will ever be released and will be full of bloatware, such as JB, then I prefer unofficial CM releases. At least they're smooth and very fast and they don't kick off the launcher from memory as JB did, when I tried to go back from any app.

+1
additionally Samsung original firmwares are very unwieldy. I don't think so new original firmware fast, reliable and useful. Cause Samsung accomplish the break 4.4 KitKat fast and reliable key points.

Yes but then we have more 4.4 blobs for custom rom and maybe kernel source 3.4.X. I don't believe, but if samsung release kitkat for Ace 2, we have some benefits from it.
I hope one day samsung release stable jb 4.1.2 like old 2.3.
MG2 is good, but it's not stable like GB. (freezes, UI lag, games lags).
i wish someone could make fully working AOKP 4.4 for my Ace II

I'm having a quick dabble with Rox's CM11, it seems pretty darn smooth on first impressions. However I need my camera so I'll go back to 10.2 for now, great work though

Even if samsung release any JB update (up to 4.2.x 4.3.x) or even a kitkat after having such messed up 4.1.2 I am not going to use them (well maybe as a base for further flashing). At this momment, custom roms are only option here. Luckilly, we have some skilled rom builders here so we should be fine for now

Hey, KitKat is built specially for low-end devices, so it would definitely be faster...

Only if is made right - something that Samsung won't make.

Would the next android hit galaxy s4 or is kit kat the last

HI would we ever see the next android be wait it will 5.0 or 4.6 how long would samsung support us. And most importantly would we ever get the s5 touchwiz ui and maybe a few software advantages
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
I think it'll get the next version. s4 came out with 4.2.2 ,got two pretty small updates to 4.3 and 4.4. must at least get another version.
about touchwiz- i use nova launcher so it's less interesting, i even prefer the current interface

Yes hope only
If android 4.5 / 6 and 5.0 releases S4 will get the update :/
To touchwiz ui might be be someone that ports for s4
The next version is most likely the last version
Galaxy s2 received only 4.1.2 , though it's perfectly capable to run 4.4.2
18 months cycle I believe

Possible New Kit Kat Rom?

So, who's down for a TW based Kit Kat Rom? Trying to motivate one of my team members to actually try this. Who knows, if he can get it to work, maybe we could get Wifi-Calling, TV-Out and Dock Audio to work again. It will most likely be based off a T-Mobile S4 TW Kit Kat Base since the S4 got updated to Kit Kat last month. So, what do you think?

Agreed....since I, for one, plan on keeping this phone, any additional development would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently running Dao's Beanstalk 4.4 and have had very little problems with it.
