it looks like your tablet has a locked bootloader so its a little hard to get a custom rom for it. i heard sony cancelled the jelly bean update for it.

Hi all! I'm a considerable new comer to the world of Android. I bought my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman in April this year and I have been running Gingerbread 2.3.4 build .62. I rooted it by following the steps listed out here.
Now that ICS is out I would like to give it a go. However the Update Center app on my phone says that I have the latest software and even PC Companion and SUS says the same thing (although sony says the update has been rolled out for my device's SI number). Anyways I found the ROM (ftf File) online and thought I'd do it manually via Flashtool.
On looking for a way to root it I found a tutorial by tracer123 where the polish blood project kernel has to be flashed. While trying to find out more about this kernel I learned that WiFi tether is not working and this feature is pretty important to me; the other features that don't work aren't quite as important and I don't mind not having them.
So my question is, is there another way to root android 4.0.4 on my LwW?
P.S. - I did find a tutorial similar to tracer123's (where the it's downgraded to a previous version, rooted and then uploaded) in the Sony support forum but since 4.0.4 is the first version of ICS to roll out to LwW I was stuck once more

I need to know how to root my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc LT15i. I have the ICS 4.0.4 standard SE issue installed with a locked bootloader. I have followed several tutorials on this site and ended up having a phone that keeps crashing after starting up.
1. Where is the ROMs required to install before rooting?
2. Where is the tool to root this phone?
3. Where is the latest ROM for ICS?
Also, clear instructions would be appreciated - please don't direct me to another forum topic because that didn't help at all.

Hi guys me and my friend are complete and utter noobs :crying: we really need help on how we can upgrade our phones to the latest rom jelly bean. My phone is a Arc s thats on LTi18 4.04 kernel 4.1.0.437 and his phone is an xperia go. We have the following tools flash tools, pc companion that's it. We got to the point where we could flash it but besides that were stuck. Is there a guide out there that can help us? a video even? I dont even know what kernel to download for us. I bought an Xperia L last week, and I was looking by the "ThundZap" Kernel that is in Original Development section, and I want to install it in my new Xperia... But I don't have idea how, and I dont know if THIS KERNEL, its for STOCK ROM...
I had an Xperia X8, with Root, custom Kernels and ROM, but I dont have idea if its the same for the Xperia L.
Maybe could help me a little in this new little world for me!
