[Q] Factory reset options - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recovery - Wipe Cache/Dalvik?

So I booted into the bootloader and selected recovery. Once you get there, I tried volume up or down to select something, but I don't see anything pop-up. It'd be nice to know how to do a factory reset from recovery or maybe if there is a clear cache and/or dalvik in there? Anyone have a clue?
Thanks!
Factory reset is under settings -> backup & reset. I don't think you will find it in the boot loader menu.

Problem wiping cache partition

Hi guys, I have a problem. First of all, I dont have custom recovery and I'm not rooted.
The problem is that when I boot in recovery mode and put the "empty cache partition" option, it shows me the SD card but do not empty or wipe the cache.......is anyone else having this problem or knows how to solve it?
Thanks!

I think there is an issue with the Recovery Menu.
Whenever i went to Factory Reset my phone using the Stock Recovery, i noticed i had to highlight & select the option ABOVE the factory Reset option,
If i highlighted the Factory Reset Option, it wouldn't Factory Reset,
What is the option above the "Empty cache partition" option ?

Can't reset to factory or flashing stock rom Huawei G610-u00

Hi, I have a very strange problem. My friend's gave his Huawei G610 to me and asked me to reset it to factory and wipe all the data. I simply went to recovery mode and selected Wipe data/factory reset and then wipe cache partition and finally rebooted it!
Instead of showing the first use screen (OOBE) I noticed that nothing had changed. Everything is as same as before factory reset. I tried reset factory from the setting menu and no change. I also uninstall a few apps and after a restart the apps got back :| I flashed stock rom using sp flash tool and no success. Please help me!

SlimRom Factory Reset (Slim7)

Hello
I recently installed SlimRom Slim7 on my GT-P5110
I tested it to make sure everything works fine,
Then I noticed that factory reset doesn't work.
If I went to Settings> Backup & Reset>Factory Reset>Reset Tablet, then pressed [Erase Everything], nothing happens.
Everything will remain as if i didn't press any button.
Could someone help me out ?
Thank You ?
Have you tried to format data partition in recovery? There is a farctory reset in recovery (as I remember), or you can reflash all of your stuff.

Factory Reset via TWRP on Stock rooted HTC U11

Hi guys,
I wanted to perform a factory reset without loosing the stock ROM for now.
I don't do this since a long time ago (I did that on M7) I just wanted to ask a confirmation about that on TWRP Recovery.
What I need to do? Is WIPE -> Advanced Wipe and select DATA, Internal Storage, Cache and Dalvik Cache enough?
Basically I can wipe everything except system and boot right?
I've read something about formatting partitions but I'm not sure.
EDIT: I've found this: TWRP --> WIPE --> Swipe to Factory Reset
No more else should be needed.
