[Q] LG G2 - Share phones WiFi connection with laptop? - General Questions and Answers

Hey all,
I wanted to know whether it is possible to get my phone to share its connection to a WiFi network with my laptop. My reason for doing this is that the network is running at 5ghz, but my laptop cannot see it, however my phone can. I thought of using my phone as a link between my laptop and the network. I figured it would be easy.. Connect the phone to the network, and tether the network via USB to my laptop. But apparently tethering only lets you use the phones Mobile Network data, which I dont want.
Does anyone know how to make this work?

You can use reverse tethering.

I thought reverse tethering was for giving your phone internet access from your laptop?

Sorry
I am not able to post a link.

Use a service that actually exists... There is no such thing as 5G service.

Some routers don't allow access to the ports required to make Order & Chaos work. If I can't connect to a WiFi hotspot then I just play on 3G. Works great most of the time.
I play it on my phone not pc....

Search for dlna. Your phone will need to act as a dlna server. The ps3 will be able to find it and stream from it.

Make sure your phone is on the same WiFi network as the ps3 and try to disable any computer firewall while you get it running.

I'm sorry im wondering if there's a way to connect the two without the use of a router or computer just phone to ps3 nothing else... Again sorry for the confusion
Sent from my XT1080 using xda app-developers app
Edon82, unless you connect them in the same network, you won't be able to stream.
It does not do Bluetooth streaming

Any reason why no router? You could try tethering the PS3 to your phone then running the DNLA server.
