[Q] Bootloop after flashing any rom - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every rom ive tried, it stucks into bootlogo. How can i solve it? Thanks in advance.

It happened to me too. The only solution is to revert to stock JB, reinstall custom recovery, re-root and install custom rom.
Many moto g users had this problem...

And, just for curiosity, how did you solve your bootloop problem without using the VolDown key?

Did you flash recovery in JB? I have your problem right now, and I have reflashed stock JB, updated to KK, re-rooted, installed CWM and... bootloops again . Can it be the problem? Should I flash recovery in JB directly? And which recovery should I flash in stock JB, CWM for 4.3 bootloader? Thanks in advance

Im having the same problem, after I installed GPe. Gonna try going back to JB.

I don't have an idea what is exactly the problem. Regardless if I'm on JB or KK, I always flash recovery using the moto tool application. In order to install any aosp rom, I must to be in JB stock.

What roms? Did you follow instructions as they are in OP of roms? Try to clear dalvik cache and cache partition in CWM. if this not help do what was post above.

Quit posting in the development thread if you aren't posting a rom kernel or recovery!!!
This belongs in q&a!!!!!!
You can try Peter Alfonsos ROMs that he makes. They are all stock but all are buttery smooth. They aren't fully stock with the recovery so you have CWM or TWRP but they are stock nothing more nothing less.
Or you can flash a stock image from here if there is not jb:

[Q] Need Help, no matter which ROM is flash, it doesn't boot

Hey,
i own a german XT1032, updated to 4.4.2 the day i bought it.
I unlocked the bootloader, installed Philz Touch recovery ( CWM based) and rooted it.
But no matter which ROM i flash, it just stays at the bootanimation until i restore my backup.
I already tried different recoverys, including TWRP, different methods of wiping... all to no avail.
so... what am i missing ?
Any help would be appreciated.
After installing ROM try for clear the cache and data

[Q] Trouble after flashing ARHD 8.1

Hey, I have been flashing stock kernel ROMs on my new HTC One M8 without any trouble, except for when I want to run ARHD 8.1
I am on 4.4.2, fully rooted and S-Off, and the flash and AROMA installation breezes through no problem.. the phone goes black for a while then comes back on in TWRP .... from there i reboot, and when it brings me to the Android setup screen i cannot continue due to persistent error messages stating that "Unfortunately com.systemui has stopped" .. another process or two also stop and persist via error dialog (SmartcardService i believe is one, i can double check if i really need to).
I am forced to 'adb reboot recovery' through command prompt and restore my nandroid backup.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you.. :cyclops::good:

I am having the same exact problems. Errors keep popping up after the install. Tried wiping in recovery instead of aroma still didn't work. I'm on firmware 1.55.605.2. Very perplexed. Could be that the firmware needs to be downgraded to match the firmware of the rom. For Verizon, their last firmware update was what i said above. This particular rom is based off firmware 1.54.401.10. Not sure if this has something to do with it, but would love to find a solution as I really want to try out this rom.

I'm using TWRP at the moment. I also used phillz. But keep getting those popping errors after install. Tried wiping in recovery instead of in aroma, still don't work. I've flashed other roms successfully, but this one is not cooperating.

I'm going to try downloading the rom on my computer and then doing an md5 checksum. Could be that the one I downloaded onto my phone is corrupt.

Okay got it to work. I did two things. Not sure which one made it work. But I re-downloaded the rom and did a checksum then copied it to my sd card. I also installed phillz recovery. I am having one problem with the rom though. The gps is not locking in. I looked around in the forum but couldn't find a fix.
