System Apps (ASUS) - General Questions and Answers

Hi I have an Asus MeMo Pad HD 7 so i have a problem with the system apps. There are so many running on my ram. Only have 400 MB left because of the damn system apps like app locker, parental lock, asus task manager, asus splendid, asus wizard, asus to-do... Etc etc .
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ? WITHOUT ROOTING .

a- Disable each unwanted app individually from its 'App Info'
b- Use Greenifty (new ver works fine on unrooted devices- but you'll have to hibernate manually):

uninstall stock version - reboot then install modded version and all should work ( sometimes maybe you will need to clean google store cache)

or if you have 3.4 version previously go to phone - applications -> play store uninstall updates ,, rebot then install modded version - just like in any other vendor.apk updates

its a Google play service. come along with newly updated play store. It is just work as medium which provide u to communicate from ur pico to play store.
Any way to get rid of it ...? Because it is using 8 mb of my precious internal memory !
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
No, you cannot remove it, as you have seen. it is a system app, required for play store & google apps. basically for all the app feedback / statistics report, this app is used.
i know how much we all love our internal storage.
just root ur phone & use sd-ext partition, increase internal space !! :good:

Google is getting ridiculous you know that app is required to run Google apps like youtube etc. When you open then they will say please install Google play services and open you the app in play store lol
anyone figure out how to get it to install when on custom ROM? It must be seeing something on my phone it doesn't like because I try to install and it fails.
This is on a rezound. Going to try and backup working version on my tablet and restore on phone.
If you flash gapps.zip in custom rom, then automatically Google play services is installed.
Otherwise, it's not necessary.

the battery drain really fast with nexus 7.

App greenify. Free more ram than ever and save battery too.

I opened this thread just for sharing this awesome app ( GREENIFY ). Its not my app i only want to share whith you, i9003 users, cuz we allways ran out of free ram.
With this awesome app we can decrease the ram comsumption of determinate installed apps,( you can install lots of apps and dont worry about ram ), i personally tested it and can say it works perfectly.
Here you got the link to the XDA ORIGINAL thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155737
Please dont forget to hit the thanks button of the developer of this powerfull app.
I hope you enjoy the power of having a lot of free ram.

You can check your battery usage using the App called Better battery stats . Once you get to know the culprit ( wakelocks , battery eating apps ) those apps can be hibernated . Ex. I hibernate Maps , Google + etc ..
it doesnt hipernate touchdown app
but anyway, superb app
You cannot hibernate system apps using Greenify.. It can hibernate only downloaded apps.. .. Even apps that have been granted device admin status cannot be hibernated..
There is a feature which sends some kinda anonymous usage data via the greenify app.. Go to settings in the greenify app and turn it off..

Dsp manager, play store, themes provider, facebook, media storage.... and what you want. If you notice a bad behavior on the phone only have to degreenify those sistem apps one by one, to know which shouldnt be greenified.

I've done that already. I have greenified quite a few system apps. But media storage, play store don't seem to appear in the list... And moreover when I try to greenify Play Store by using the search and then clicking on the notification.. It says system apps cannot be greenified..
Like I said, I have already greenified quite a few System apps.. But play store will not greenify..

Hello!
I think with root You will able to clean the bloatware from You device! Type in google search: ,.ME173X root" There must be tutorials how to root Your device! Or sometimes it's recommended to clean the memory if You have a task manager on You device! If there isn't. In settings You can find the running processes and You will be able to ,,kill" the processes what uses a lot of RAM.
I hope I could help You!

A tip: I always used Titanium Backup pro/free to remove the factory bloatware and that was always successful! But be careful do not remove the system apps because Your device easily can be unstable! For example: It won't boot as You said.
And the most important thing! Always create a backup before remove apps, if You don't You won't be able to restore the removed app.

Willingly! If You root Your device there is a small chance to brick it, but if You know how to restore the original stock ROM there's no need to panic! That was a big mistake to delete the home laucnher. I don't blame You. Your Brother did it. As You said ,,Unfortunately the Launcher has stopped" error message appeared because You device wanted to start the launcher again ,but the launcher has been removed from Your device. If You doing the removing carefully Youre device must working perfectly!
