Today I was getting random errors on the Cyanogenmod Rom, so I wanted to flash the KitKat+ rom, but reading in the forum, I saw that I need to wipe a lot of things in order to get a good installation. I wiped everyting that I can find, including /system, and then, when I wanted to flash the KitKat+ rom I couldn't find the folder with it, I think it was because I had deleted that folder during my wipes.
So I didin't have any rom installed, nor I had the zips to install a new one, I was able to enter on fastboot(?) (the screen that appears when I press vol down + power), and then, enter to the recovery (CWM), I wasn't able to enable "mount usb storage" on CWM to add another zip files, so I enter in the fastboot (the previous screen) and searched on the internet how to flash a rom, or how to enter in the usb storage.
I needed to leave my house in that moment, and I left the phone in that mode for like 4 hours, it was connected to the PC. When I came back, the phone was off, I couldn't turn it on, and the PC dont detect it, I tried with other cables, with other PCs, charging the phone on the wall for 2 hours, I also tried with pressing the power button for 15s and vol down + power, I can't get any response from the phone, and when I connect it to the PC I don't get any new deviced on the [device manager] screen of windows.
Any Ideas?
*sorry for my bad english*

Hi there, thanks in advance for your kind support on the overall aspects of android development.
here is what i have done.
i wanted to update my motorola xt910 with 4.0.4 ics to CM10 (CYANOGENMOD)10
So i get the cm10 rom and google apps on my sd card
And installed the clockworkmod recovery 5.8.4.5 black edition
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751826
then i made the procedures after install the apk
after that i reboot in cwm and make a backup of the existing rom
and reboot the phone.
then i dowload the rom manager from the app store, install it and select the right recovery 3.+++ for the razr reboot the phone .
then i went on rom manager and enter in clockword mod and install the rom cm 10 (after i installed it i remember i should wipe data and cache) so i after installed cm10, i wiped data and cache, and right after i installed again the cm10 rom and google aps, without even reboot or leave rom manager app, after that i rebooted the phone and the only thing it shows me its the M logo on start.
I cant go to fastboot either, doesnt recognise the rsd lite.
And it only "boots" if its called that way if i hit power + vol up + vol down. but then it only appears the M logo for a few seconds and then the cell it turns off (i guess). it was with a fully 100% battery when i did the procedure.
Any way to solve this?
it detects when i conect it to the pc, but it doesnt show anything, only the sound that some usb thing is conected and then disconected, no card showing nothing, just the sound.
ANY HELP WILL BE GLADLY WELCOME!!!
THANKS

I have successfully manage to UNBRICK IT.
here is the procedure i have done:
1-plug it in motorola cable and put the rsdlite on
2-plug the usb on the computer (you will hear the sound of some usb beeing conected but nothing else)
3- hit the power buton + vol up + vol down several times until it appears fast boot
ex: you click it now see the M logo, and then you hit it again on power + vol up + vol down, all of this with the cable conected to the pc and the rsd lite on.
4-after it entered on fastboot mode, you will see a black screen with some white writing on it
5-get a fastboot xml of your rom (in my case brasilian one) and flash it true the rsd, wait wait wait until the process finishes and dont disconect or touch anything. In my case it took about 15 minutes with several stops and bootloops on the same procedure, but i successfully manage to bring it to life.
Note this method will only work if you have enough battery on your phone, if not try to buy a factory cable to charge the battery via USB port and then try it on.
Remember to charge 5% you will nedd to get it on the usb about 15 minuts or so, if you plan to do this procedure i will hardly advice you to leave it about 5hours to fully charge your battery and you get the job done without any other issues.
Thanks to all and i hope this thread will be helpfull to others too.

Thanks ma,, you saved my device!!!!
hello there,
I have huawei g730-u10
"MTK6582, quadcore cortex A7, 1GB Ram, 4GB Rom"
last week, I was trying to install a CWM recovery using "mobile uncle" app. after it finished , a prompt for restarting appears and I pressed "yes".
it was the last time seeing my phone alive!!! it restarts to huawei logo for about 20 seconds and restarts again and again and again....
unfortunately my device doesn't have a rom online, even on HUAWEI website, so, I downloaded a similar phone ROM "hdc-s5-gold" to use its preloader, cache, boot , etc
the problem is when I connect the phone to SP flashtools the red bar appears and then it holds for seconds and a message with connection loss appears while the phone is going in its infinite restart.. so the flashtools seems to find the phone for a while but fails to write to it thanks to power loss.
notes:
1. I have tried many flashtool versions
2. I have tried with and without battery connection, and with and without volume up holding.
3. the phone can't access to CWM, download mode or factory reset mode.
4. the drivers are installed shows: "MT65xx preloader" and I think there is no driver problem
5. even when I connect the phone to charger, it keeps restarting and the charging logo doesn't appear
I appreciate any help
SP log files attached
thanks

Universal unbrick guide:
Terminology - types of bricks:
Soft brick - often occurs in the shape of a bootloop or any other problems with booting such as always getting to recovery or not getting past the carrier logo. This type of a brick, which shows some signs of life, can in most cases be fixed.
Hard brick - As the name implies, your phone can essentially used as a brick and it shows no signs of life. This kind of a brick is rare and in theory should be unfixable. However there are advanced methods of fixing your phones such as JTAG, but they require extra tools and accessories.
The decision:
Is my phone soft or hard bricked?
If you answer yes to all of the questions below you probably have a hard birck:
Test as said in order!
Nothing happenes when you hold or press the power button
You cannot get the screen to even turn on by pressing or holding any combination of buttons on your phone
Nothing happenes if you do the same as about but with your phone plugged into a charger
Nothing happenes when you plug your phone into a computer
When you plug in your phone into a computer it does not recognize it as a phone, storage or any other media device
Nothing happenes when you try all of the above again, but with removing the battery in between steps for 10 seconds and putting it back in again
Nothing happenes when you try all of the above again, but after leaving the phone plugged into a charger for 2 hours
If all of the questions are a "yes", then you either have a broken charging port and and a discharged battery or you have a hard brick.
The unbricking:
There are many methods of unbricking and they are all different to each phone. Here I will list the most common methods that often succeed.
Samsung users skip to 4. method.
1. If you have access to a stock recovery:
Method 1:
1. Shut down / turn off your phone.
2. Boot into Recovery mode – hold down the volume down button and then hold the power button (the button combination is different for every phone. Look yours up on Google)
3. Use volume keys to navigate the menus, and power button to select the menu items (Again, might be different for every phone)
4. Choose “Wipe Cache Partition”.
5. Choose “Wipe Data / Factory Reset” to delete all your settings and apps, using the correct ROM.
6. Reboot your device.
Method 2:
Download the stock rom for your phone. It should be in ".zip" format. Make sure it's the official version
(Find it by Googling something like "[your phone model] stock rom")
Put the file on your phone's external SD card.
Make sure that the rom is for your exact phone model.
4. Select "apply update from external storage"
5. Navigate to the zip file you copied to your phone
6. Install it.
If you get Status Error 7 that means you didn't download an official stock rom.
2. If you have access to a custom recovery:
Method 1:
Try stock recovery method 1
Method 2:
1. Find a stable custom rom for your phone or if you want to download the stock rom
Make sure that the rom is for your exact phone model.
2.. Copy the zip file to the phone's external SD.
3. Install the zip
(If you have a custom recovery you probably know the drill)
3. If you have access to fastboot mode:
First install ADB and fastboot drivers (if you haven't already):
To install it on windows there is a handy tool called the 15 Second ADB installer which will install pretty much everything you need.
On Ubuntu install with:
Code:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
On Fedora:
Code:
sudo dnf install android-tools
On OS X using Homebrew:
Code:
brew install android-platform-tools
Once you have the drivers installed you have to find a recovery image for your phone to install a custom recovery.
You can try one of the popular recoveries such as CWM or TWRP.
You need to get the recoveryNameHere.img file for your phone.
Find it by Googling:
"[your phone model] TWRP recovery"
or
"[your phone model] CWM recovery"
Make sure that the recovery is for your exact phone model.
Now on your phone enter fastboot mode:
Turn your phone off.
You can try different button combinations. For my phone it's holding power and volume down buttons.
Once you're in fastboot mode plug your phone into a computer and open your terminal/cmd.
Type in:
Code:
fastboot devices
You should see a list of devices. There should be only one device ID number.
If you see the ID it's working. If you don't you didn't install the Google USB driver properly (on Windows) and if it says "'fastboot' is not a recognized command" or "No command 'fastboot' found" then you didn't even install your drivers.
If you have problems with installing Google "how to install adb and fastboot drivers"
Now that you know fastboot is working type in:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery C:\Path\To\Recovery.img
Replace "C:\Path\To\Recovery.img" with an actuall path of the recovery file you downloaded.
It should say success.
If it doesn't try to execute:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
This will delete all data you had on your phone (games, game progress, apps...).
Now try
Code:
fastboot flash recovery C:\Path\To\Recovery.img
again.
Once you're done type in:
Code:
fastboot reboot
And your phone should still not work. Now what you have to do it try the custom recovery method above (number 2.)
4. If you have a Samsung device:
Try this tutorial of unbricking with Odin: click here
Hi everyone.
Ok back in August I purchased an Oppo r7plus "m" version not knowing the difference, from a 3rd party seller. I know I probably should've waited until the phone would go on sale in Canada but I wasn't sure if it ever would. So anyways the phone worked great for a while. I noticed that it came pre loaded with OPPO Tools and Super SU. I thought wow, this phone is rooted right of the box? Great! So I started uninstalling some native apps of which I thought were just "bloatware", everything went fine until I uninstalled the weather app.
When I turned the phone back on after restarting, it now goes into the OS but continuosly flashes on and off and you can only access the dropdown notification screen. Luckily from there I can still access the settings menu. I tried holding the power button and volume down button to go to the factory boot screen. That worked and in there its says the color os version, but in brackets says
(rooted).
I can only assume the phone is still rooted but is stuck in some sort of soft brick. I've been doing alot of reading into how I might be able to fix the phone but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I'm good with computers and all but not to this level and I never rooted an android phone before.
Please somebody HELP.
So I've downloaded the ROM for my phone model, r7 plus m, and I transfered the zip file over to the internal storage of the device. I then held down the volume down and power buttons to boot to color os recovery. Than I cleared cache and install from sd found the zip file and it started to run.
After about a minute or two into the installation it stops and reads "Installation Failed". I'm thinking I need a recovery.img file but I'm not sure. Even if I had that file I don't know what to do next.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, how did you sort it? Are you still in need of stock recovery? I have one for model F, dont know if it works with M model.
1. Download and extract my RAR files ---> HERE
2. Open your PC device manager
3. Connect an usb cable only to your pc then press and hold the phone volume + button and then connect the usb cable to the phone
3. In the device manager you will see Qhsub_bulk then release the volume+ button
4. Right click on Qhsub_bulk and choose update driver
5. Use one of the driver folders which you alredy extract to install the Qualcomm driver and you will see it like 9008
6. Your phone have to be charged very well for a few hours before you try to flash it.
7. Remove it from the charger then connect an usb cable only to your pc.
8. Try to press and hold the volume + and power buttons at the same time for a few seconds and connect the usb cable to the phone.
9. You have to see the driver in the device manager like 9006 (you can release the buttons) [it wasn't easy for me so keep trying]
10. Open the MSMDownloader and press start
11. If everything is ok you will see a green progress bar flashing. (I was stuck here with the "NON-HLOS.bin" file which you can see in the "Other NON-HLOS File" folder inside the rom which you download)
12. When the process complete in about 10 minutes you can remove the usb cable from your phone.
13. Now you have to do a veeeeeeeery long press and hold on your power button untill you feel the vibration and after that you will see the OPPO logo.
14. Leave it for 5-10 minutes to load the Color OS.
15. Ok you have a working phone but still some apps icons that are missing and the keyboard doesn't appear when you have to write something.
16. Download THIS zipped ROM and put it in the internal storage of your phone.
17. Shut down the phone then press and hold the volume - and the power button at the same time for a while intil you enter into recovery mode.
18. Choose english and then install rom from zip file. After the installation complete reboot the phone and you will get a working keyboard and few more apps like Browser, Chinese market and else....
For me i still need to insert the IMEI's because they are lost... and now i have message: Oppo nv backup. The NV partition is invalid...
Good luck to all! And if you want to give me a beer: paypal: [email protected]
Still stuck
I still can’t detect any qhsub_bulk in device manager. Even I reformat my pc to window 7 64bit it still not detecting. What it detected was only like Android usb.
Oppo r7 plusm suspected soft brick with rooted.
- stuck at oppo logo
- try recovery with stock rom but error * failed to update*
- wipe all but still same failed to update
- try the guild here but can’t detect my device with the tool
Good day everyone,
I have been facing a huge problem in the past weeks after I have done one mistake.
I was installing a newer version of TWRP recovery and instead of installing the image I installed it as zip.
My OS was gone, I couldn't get it to "recover" my OS in any way. The kernel seems fine.
I have tried to use a micro SD and USB cable to install a new ROM but TWRP couldn't detect my SD card and my PC couldn't connect to my phone.
I also wiped my whole data.
My phone doesn't boot in the recovery unless it's not charging and start with ONLY pushing the power button.
Holding power and volume up will make it vibrate 3 times and restart.
Charging the phone makes it stuck on the android logo after the battery status.
The phone overheats and the battery drains extremely .
The only message I got from TWRP is, "No OS installed".
Other logs are inaccessible or wiped.
I would appreciate any advice
Thanks in advance!
1. Turn off your phone
2. Enter the phone Flashmode by holding the volume down button, then connect to a PC (the led should be green and your PC should recognize your Z5).
3. Flash the FTFs in Flashtool.
Information about how to that can be found on this forum.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/help/flashmode-t3237141
This might help.
Hey, so I had recently tried learning about flashing and custom roms on android, and I had flashed twrp with magisk on my lenny 3. Because my device seems to be unpopular, roms like lineageOS aren't available for it, only some sketchy roms are.
So I was trying to flash a rom with spflash tool, ticked all files except recovery.img cause I didn't wanna remove TWRP in case something went wrong, but I was prompted with some message saying the flash would only work with "Format All + Download" instead of "Download Only", so I selected the format+download, but it seems that by doing so it ticked recovery.img back, formatted all files from my phone and flashed something that doesn't boot at all. What I don't understand is why after doing this I can't reflash the phone. Whenever I tried to use spflash tool again it just didnt detect my phone again. No data signal whatsoever. It also doesn't make the connection alert sound whenever i connect it to windows like it previously did. Perhaps cause of the formatting... It's not a cable problem cause I've tried many different ones.
TLDR My dead lenny 3 doesn't give any data signal when i connect it via usb after a bad flash, so I can't reflash it to fix it
What I've tried:
- Reinstalling VCOM, CDC and ABD drivers on 2 windows computers, spflashtool still couldn't detect my phone and do the flashing;
- Using a stock firmware installer like the one from the blog below, on both computers, after reinstalling the drivers, still couldn't detect my phone.
- Tried charging it on my pc overnight to see if I could somehow boot into recovery, tried long pressing Power + Vol Up, Power + Vol Down, Power + Vol Up + Vol Down. Nothing boots it. I also tried holding Vol Up as I connect it via USB to see if it could connect but nope. No data signal.
- I have adb and fastboot installed, i tried both abd devices and fastboot devices commands, on both pcs, to see if my device was listed at all, and it wasn't.
Any suggestions on how to be able to flash it again? If I could boot it into TWRP i'd be all set cause i have a backup... the problem is that my TWRP is gone and even if I still had it I can't boot my phone (Even tho I left it charging)
Any help would be appreciated, and if this isn't the right forum to ask for unbricking help, where should I?
