Hi
I need help with my Xoom
I was on
[UPDATE][JB]Stock Android 4.1.2 JZO54K, Root, via CWM Recovery (US Wi-Fi MZ604 and tried to flash to the recent:
[ROM][4.4.2] OmniROM - Wingray - bigPart
I successfully flashed bigPart, then entered recovery.
Therefore, i've tried these steps:
Reboot into recovery. Go into wipe menu. Select "Advanced Wipe". Check
Dalvik Cache
System
Cache
Data
Internal Storage
and wipe them. Don't reboot just yet.
I was unable to wipe Dalvik Cache, got an error, so i wiped the others separately
I flashed the omniRom, gapps, and SUupdate and rebooted
And then, i'm stuck at the Encryption Unsuccessful screen.
Did i killed my xoom? I can acess to recovery anytime.
Please help
Thanks in advance
Solved :victory:
Instead of choosing "Advanced Wipe" i've chosen "Format Data".
Then i installed the omni, rom, gapps and SU successfully.
Rebooted, took it 2/3 minutes to loading and voilá...back from death
I'm very happy
i have same problem, but cant get back to recovery menu.
edit solved Format Data did the job thanks for help.

I currently have a Wifi Xoom running EOS Wingray-62, and Gapps 10.5.
I have been on the nightly builds for awhile. The EOS ICS is great, and keeps getting better!!!!
Yesterday I turned my Xoom on and it got stuck at the Team EOS splash page.
I did a quick reboot, hoping this would fix the problem, but it didn't.
I can still get to ClockWorkMod, so I have done the following:
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Still no luck....
Any idea's what I am doing wrong?

probably a bad download, restore a backup and redownload and try again
I checked to see if I had a bad download.
I downloaded the newest wifi nightly, and completed the following steps:
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Loaded EOS-wingray-75.zip
Loaded GAPPS 10.5
I did get the new EOS splash screen in the lower right hand corner, but it just sits there.
Any ideas?
try to flash eos 1.0 wifi
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
flash eos 1.0 wifi
flash the gapps in the same cwm session!! then reboot
or try to flash an older version instead of 75
check md5 before flashing
Thanks for the reply....
I flashed an older version of the EOS nightly that had worked in the past.
The Xoom still didn't make it past the splash screen.
For fun, I also flashed CM9, and Bugless Beast for the Xoom Wifi. Still didn't make it past the splash screen.
Thanks for your help.
do you have anything important on your internal memory? If not, you could always try to "fastboot oem unlock" again, as that would clear your internal memory.
(For me, getting stuck at the boot-logo could always be fixed by wiping /data. With Tiamat recovery however, "wipe /data" will not really wipe /data as to conserve contents of /sdcard [which is linked to a folder beneath /data])
"fastboot erase userdata" might also do the trick, but I'm not positive on that one.
My Xoom is working again....
I was able to use the fastboot oem unlock command.
Thanks for all your help.
Hi, this is the first android device I have played with so naturally I managed to mess it up.
The problem is with an Iconia A510, wrong forum but didnt find a Q&A for A510 so I tried here instead.
I rooted and installed CWM recovery. The custom firmware I have tried or stopped during boot and rebooted the device. Booted for 10-20 seconds, I see the animated logos before it reboots.
I upgrade with:
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
advanced -> format /system
advanced -> format /data
advanced -> format /cache
install zip from sdcard -> external sdcard
Am I doing something wrong with the upgrade? Can I upgrade CWM from inside CWM so I can try the latest Android version? Is there a firmware version that will work?
Info:
Files from: acer shreps fr
CWM version: CWM Recovery v6.0.1.9 by NoThrills for A510 tablets. Apparently can try KitKat with it, so only tried older Android.
All installed OK but stopped during boot:

did you try to wipe data or/and dalvik cache after you installed the rom? (DONT WIPE SYSTEM!)
sometimes this will work for me.

Thanks for the tip. I tried wiping the usual suspects, flashing a CM rom and then flash data and dalvik cache. Same thing; started booting, the CM logo comes up and starts spinning before it freezes and reboots.
I'll play around a bit more. Tried the 'fix permissions' in CWM recovery, no go.
Solved it. Formatted everything except external_sdcard, flashed with AOKP and booted fine. Magic!
Hello,
I wiped my internal storage with TWRP and after I try flash Dirty unicorn Rom and gapps. After booting where is black screen and I only can restart and shutdown phone. Also in internal storage only TWRP folder how to fix this please?
There is no need to wipe internal storage. TWRP tells you and double check with you that you want to do it. To should not jump into rooting and flashing with out a lot of reading. Go and read how to flash factory images via ADB

You must be on bootloop. Try wiping cache/dalvic cache through twrp.
If still it won't work, try clean flashing ROM. (After wiping android secure, system, data, cache, dalvic cache)
If you lost your recovery, then flash it again through fastboot.
Explore Below link, hope you'll get something that can work out.

"I wiped internal storage"; "Also in internal storage only TWRP folder" - To switch roms you only need to wipe data/factory reset in twrp, nothing else. Wiping internal storage deleted your personal data, which resides under /sdcard/. This is why you ended up with nothing (except TWRP folder, twrp creates that) under /sdcard/.
"and after I try flash Dirty unicorn Rom and gapps. After booting where is black screen" - A simple bootloop. Happened most likely because you didn't wipe data/factory reset. Another thing causing the bootloop might be gapps. Ever since PA Gapps went down, I've tried a couple of gapps packages, and at least one bootlooped on 5.1.1. If after reflashing your ROM and gapps after wipe data/factory reset in TWRP doesn't bring you Android UI, try wiping /system and JUST reflash the ROM, to see if it boots without gapps.
Also:
@zerosum0, please edit your post, statement "Go and read how to flash factory images via ADB" isn't accurate.
@hitman-xda, please edit your post, statement "If you lost your recovery, then flash ROM directly through computer" isn't entirely accurate. One way to put it would be "If you lost your recovery, then flash it again through fastboot". Although in this case, OP doesn't seem to have done anything to lose custom recovery.
If you're flashing the newer (5.1.1-based) DU ROM, make sure the GAPPS you flash is for 5.1 too... GAPPS for 5.0 won't work. (I use TBO GAPPS blacked-out and have had no problems.)
I've read this issue with other devices, however. i've not found a solution for this yet
I'm new to this forums, let me know if i don't do something right.
I've been using Alberto97's AOSP Lollipop 5.1.1, it's my first custom rom install, i got it on
the first try, TWRP 2.8.6.0 running with no problems.. flashed other stuff like moto camera, marshmallow bootanim, and that's all
Last week i've tried to update to the CAF latest version of his build, however, TWRP
reboots when i try to wipe the /data partition, in the custom TRWP 2.8.7.0 thread found
i might need to repair the partition, i tried it with no success, repaired /cache with no problem, but when i try to fsck /data on TWRP it gaves me an error, haven't tried /system yet.
tried using CWM and it got stuck at wiping /data for like an hour (endless loop), i rebooted, the data was wiped, but i couldn't flash the ROM image, rebooted to clean system with no problems, it wipes cache and dalvik with no issues.
What's causing this? i have not faced apps FC or anything, just the TWRP random crashes at wiping, i'm using a Moto G XT1032 16GB TWRP 2.8.6.0 No custom kernel or non official recovery.

Leaving recovery.log on external page for reference.
hope you can help, thanks in advance.
Same problem here
You can use CWM by PhilZ for fixing what I think is a broken symlink to the emulated internal storage card.
I am using philz-6.58.7-falcon that you can find and download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639583
Once you have flashed the new recovery you can go to "Advance menu", then to "change sdcard target" and define it to /data/media (you just have to tap on the option to set it).
Go back, select "Wipe option", then "Wipe User media" and the process should be successful.
If you reinstall TWRP and wipe "/data" now the rebooting problem should be gone and everything back to normal.
Hope this helps for you.
By the way this is my very first post here. So I hope I am doing this right.
Greetings.
Thank you for the help, i fixed it by repairing the userdata partition with the latest TWRP
Hey guys, this is my first time here, sorry in advance if I say something wrong or anything.
I just unlock my Redmi Note 3 (SD 650 variant) bootloader via the unofficial way (the miflash tool way, without permissions from xiaomi).
It was done, I already checked the oem unlock status via command prompt, and then I was able to flash TWRP via fastboot.
Then I did a complete wipe of my device through TWRP, and flashed Resurrection Remix and GAPPS.
At first I was getting error 7 and error 6 everytime I flashed the rom, but I managed to fix that through some readings.
The problem is that, I always stuck in bootloop (the RR boot screen).
I tried with LineAge OS, because at first I thought it was a ROM issue, and the same thing happened: it stuck in bootloop (the LineAge OS boot screen in this case).
The step I did was :
TWRP 3.1.1-0 ---> Wipe ---> Swipe to Factory Reset ---> Install ROM and Gapps ---> Wipe Dalvik Cache ---> Reboot System
Note: I also tried without the Wipe Dalvik step before rebooting, same result.
Another thing I tried was :
TWRP 3.1.1-0 ---> Wipe ---> Advanced Wipe ---> then I select "Dalvik/ART cache", "System", "Data", and "Cache" ---> Swipe to Wipe ---> Install ROM, Gapps ---> Wipe Dalvik Cache ---> Reboot System
Note: I tried this one without the Wipe Dalvik aslo, same result.
This phone is my daily driver, so can anyone please educate me on what's happening?
(Yes I know it's not good for beginners to do this by himself on his daily driver, but in the past I have rooted and install custom ROM on my Galaxy S3 Mini...that's why I was a bit confident -.- )
Thanks in advance, I hope I get an answer here.
