It is far too early to say.
Before it goes through Windows Phone 8.1
First lets anticipate 8.1 update before thinking of any other updates
MS will announce soon, but so far they have said that all phones running 8 out of the box will run 8.1
Lumia apps
Does exe.file works on it.

You should know that the microprocessor in Lumias is not able to process exe files..

Hi everybody,
I just got a Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7. I saw a post about a possible update to Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango?), however it seems that the latest software versions are 7.0.XXXX.XX. Were there 7.1-7.4 updates that were missed?
Note: I have browsed XDA for information regarding my mobile devices and just registered.
Thanks for help! Sorry for any ignorance, I am new to smartphones.
All current MS phones will have Mango deployed on them.
All current devices will get the Mango update. The 7.5 designation is mostly to visualize the large leap from what is considered 7.0 (everything prior to Mango), and the Mango update. Its a pretty massive update, so they want to make the name show that, just as the next big one after that will most likely be Windows Phone OS version 8.
Current versions are 7.0.7390.0 (NoDo updtae) and 7.0.7392.0 (with latest security update still being deployed)
Isn't Mango 7.1 ?

Some blogs have run with some story about 7.1, but as far as anything concrete, its all been 7.5.

Ive been reading alot about running windows on android device, its possible, but whats up with the speed?why everything is so slow? I remember back in 2008 i was able to run windows 95 on my n95...but now our tf300 or other android phones is much faster,so whats up with the speed?is it video drivers?i would love to run winxp on my tab *^▁^*
Yeah, there is a possibility of running Windows 98 and older using dosbox, but it is nearly unusable, since it's pretty slow.
Also there will be Windows 8 released for mobile devices, but not separately sold, it will only be available for official Windows 8 tablets
Well i guess then we will be able to create(rip) an image of windows 8 and port it to another devices but i assume that will be piracy and not allowed to post here XD
Hey,
Heard a rumor Win phone 8 can theoretically run on any arm-based smartphone
Do you think it will be possible porting it to our device?
Same answer as with Windows Phone 7.

Could be interesting. If it is true, hopefully there will be an upgrade path for us Windows RT owners.
Update in post #5 below.
Oh do I hope this turns out to be true! After the disappointing lock-down of Windows RT, and then the seeming intentional breaking of the RT 8.0 jailbreak when 8.1 was released, a proper ARM version of Windows 10 (not mobile) would be awesome.
Most likely it is for when you plug your windows 10 mobile phone into a monitor, you get the full desktop instead of the mobile version. About the JIT emulator, it's also most likely just for windows 10 mobile phones when they are plugged into a monitor. My guess is this will all be included to windows 10 mobile in a few major updates

As the writer of the post theorises and Microsoft has updated to agree, they're expanding their Server systems to run on ARM devices, rather than bring Windows 10 to ARM. I believe it was all but confirmed that Windows 8.1 Update 3 (that brings a handful of Windows 10 features to RT) would be the end of the line for ARM laptops.
UPDATE: So here's something else that could be promising: "Windows 10 RT Is Alive, Supported By Device Guard"

Windows RT 8.1 is all kinds of screwed up. I am using their recovery image but it won't download update 2 or 3. Wondering if my RT has gone bad or if Microsoft pulled windows rt update 2 and 3 from the updater.
we wont get anything, for sure that is for new devices...I dont have any hope...

Is this the way we can get Windows 10 Mobile on our Windows RT Devices?
https://rol.im/securegoldenkeyboot/
Yeah, finally I released the writeup of what myself and black_blob have been working on!
So what would that make possible to do? Should that enable us to remove secure boot? Will you release a tool or a way to do so, or someone has to do it looking at your writeup?
So can I go ahead and buy a surface 2 rt or lumia 2520 now because by the time it arrives to me in a couple weeks there will be a tutorial out with instructions how to load linux or android or windows 10 mobile?
